U.L. LISTED LOCK Specifies that the Sargent & Greenleaf lock has passed Underwriters Laboratories testing and criteria.

U.L.® LISTED SAFE, U.L. RSC Specifies that the safe has passed the Underwriters Laboratories testing for burglary protection and is identified as a Residential Security Container (RSC).

BOLT SIZE Indicates the diameter of the safe’s solid steel door locking bolts.

FIRE RATING Specifies the amount of time and the temperature that a safe is rated to protect your valuables during a fire.

TITANIUM DISKThis exceptionally tough disk provides a reinforced drill-resistant area, inhibiting attempted forced entry around the lock nose and leaving thieves spinning their wheels.

PRE-DRILLED FOR ANCHOR KITThe best way to stop a pry entry is to never let the thief gain leverage. The best way to do that is to keep the safe upright. Every safe we make comes pre-drilled for our Winchester Anchor Kit (sold separately, see accessories) to give you that much more peace of mind for your valuables.

PALUSOL® HEAT EXPANDABLE DOOR SEALWhen subjected to heat, Palusol® expands to over six times its size to seal the door, creating a protective barrier against heat and smoke. Unlike cheaper seals, Palusol® displays impressive performance, maintaining its shape in rigorous tests and real-life experiences (take a look at our customer testimonies on the next page). We use Palusol® on every safe we make, and even two layers for additional measure on our Silverado and Legacy series gun safes.

LED LIGHT KIT Stop fumbling in the dark corners of your safe. Almost every series is now outfitted with a bright white auto on/off motion sensing LED light kit that shines light on every area inside your safe. RECESSED DOOR WITH REINFORCED STEEL RETURN DOOR JAMBOur reinforced door jambs make it that much more difficult to successfully pry open a safe by creating a flush exterior between safe door and body.

EXTERNAL HINGES Our external welded solid steel hinges (from barrel type to large vault-style straps, depending on series) allow complete fireboard protection and 180° door swing for full access to your safe’s interior. However, the engineering serves a more practical purpose: the use of internal hinges on a gun safe requires cutting into the protective fireboard inside your safe creating obvious and unnecessary areas for heat to damage your valuables during a fire.

ANTI-PRY TABSSteel pry tabs work in tandem with our safe’s other security components to thwart pry attacks by allowing more solid steel surface area to work against would-be thieves.

SOLID STEEL LOCKING BOLTSEvery Winchester Safe is built with dead-locking steel bolts on the hinge side of the door, never moving and reinforcing the door in the event of an attack on the external hinges. Our safes are made with up to 4-way bolt coverage, with up to 3-way active bolt movement to unlock your safe. We use a minimum 1” and up to 2” diameter solid steel locking bolts on all safes, stopping unauthorized entry threats at the door.

AUXILIARY RELOCKERTampering with the lock activates the auxiliary relocker, which fires into position as a back-up for greater security against would-be thieves by blocking the boltwork from retracting.

The construction of a safe is crucial to its ability to withstand extreme conditions. Fireboard and Palusol® Heat Expandable Door Seal plays the ultimate role in fire protection. At Winchester Safes, we utilize thicker fireboard and an increased

number of layers to provide safes with superior fire ratings than our competitors.

OUR SAFES ARE FIRE RATED AT AN ADVANCED TEMPERATURE OF 1400°F. THAT’S A 17% INCREASE FROM THE INDUSTRY STANDARD OF 1200°F.

Winchester Safes incorporates an external hinge design in all of our doors. This allows 180 degrees of swing, but it also plays a central role in fire protection. An external door hinge means there are no relief cuts in the fireboard to allow the door to close.

Other companies choose an internal hinge design, which demands a relief cut from the fireboard. The problem with this design choice is that it leaves little or no room for insulation in the relief cut area. Heat can directly transfer into the interior of the safe. When heat enters your safe, your valuables are no longer protected.

Winchester Safes exclusively use Palusol® Heat Expandable Door Seal on all of our safes, which when subjected to heat, expands at least six times its size to seal the door, creating a barrier against heat and smoke.

I would like to take the time to thank you and your staff for developing and manufacturing one incredible product. On Labor Day of this year we had a house full of people over celebrating the day, when a fire suddenly broke out from our downstairs level. We were able to get everyone out of the house safely. However, we unfortunately lost our home, 2 great family pets and four vehicles in under 15 minutes. It has been a difficult experience to say the least. About a week had gone by before the fire department inspectors were able to release the site back to us. I must say all the talk had been up to this point, “What about the gun safe?” All of our family, hunting club members, and friends all wanted to know the same thing I did. Were my guns going to be okay and would they be usable again? I lost my father in 2008 and I had some of his guns in the safe, so I could later hand them down to my kids. But I can share with you guys, what a great day indeed. My phone had begun to blow up with calls, texts, and Facebook messages, “What about the guns?” I was proud to inform them that the guns were fine and that I strongly recommended they go and purchase themselves a Winchester safe. However, I know that all it took was for them to see the guns safely stacked up around the car, where I had taken them out of the safe where this could have been a fiery grave if you guys had not done such a GREAT JOB. Hey Winchester,Just wanted you to know that the Silverado 38 did the job with flying colors. I was in Korea for a month for work and I came home to find the home ransacked and flooded. The intruders ruptured the water heater but that’s another story. Those jokers tried and tried to get in the gun safe and failed miserably. They even took tools out of my toolbox to try and find a way into it. The most damage they did was using a crowbar on the top of the door and in the corners to try and pry it open. Now it’s a little scratched up and the top of the door is a little boogered up but that’s all cosmetic. The metal clasps inside the door were bent a little but I bent them back into shape so the door doesn’t sway when closed. Thanks for making good products and taking care of my stuff.
