Program Overview Local Shops program allows you to list your store products on Amazon.in, which helps supplement the footfall for your physical
store with digital presence. With Local Shops on Amazon, you are able to offer guaranteed delivery speeds to customers and
showcase the ‘Prime Badge’ (on your fulfillment of eligibility criteria) that could help customers around you to discover you faster
on Amazon.in. Under Local Shops on Amazon, you can choose between two of the following options as per your requirement and
eligibility:
Local Shops Local Shops – Prime
You can offer guaranteed delivery speeds of Same day, One
day and Two day to customers in your local delivery region.
You can offer guaranteed delivery speeds of Same day, One
day and Two day with ‘Prime badge’ to customers in your local
delivery region.
Both options operate on self ship fulfillment channel and do not affect your preferences on other channels (like Easy Ship,
Fulfillment by Amazon and Seller Flex) that you may be currently enrolled on. Therefore, post enrollment in the Local Shops
program, you can start receiving Local Shops or Local Shops – Prime orders, as the case may be, on your seller account under
self ship.
Don’t have your own delivery network? Can I use Local Shops for local orders and Easy
Ship for other regions?
You can find a list of third-party courier companies to choose
from, who can help deliver your Local Shops orders to
customers. You can find the latest list here and yes, we keep
updating it periodically. You will need to work with the chosen
carrier(s) independently and get the list of PIN codes where
they can deliver at Same day, One day and Two day delivery
speeds.
Yes, you can. To selectively ship orders in your local regions
for Local Shop orders, and use Easy Ship for deliveries to
rest of India, you need to enroll yourself into Selected Self
Ship (SSS) program. Once enrolled, you can select SKU(s)
that needs to be split between Local shops and Easy Ship
programs. Click here to learn more.

template (Migrated Template*) or on a new shipping template;
either way the steps to activate them are similar:

*By default, the Migrated Template is set as DEFAULT template under
Self Ship tab

Why should I opt into Selected Self Ship? Why can’t I use other shipping templates?
With Selected Self Ship (SSS), you can choose to receive Self Ship orders from local regions of your choice and Easy Ship
orders from rest of India. However, this is not possible with other shipping templates because if your selling account is
enabled on both Easy Ship and Self Ship, orders from customers will always get classified as Easy Ship orders. They will be
tagged as Self Ship only if your products are ineligible for Easy Ship or if customer PIN code is not supported by Easy Ship.
Therefore, SSS allows you to select the appropriate fulfillment channel (Easy Ship or Self Ship) for your SKUs. Learn more

selecting ‘Same-Day Delivery’, ‘One-Day Delivery’ and ‘Two-Day Delivery’. Deselect all other regions (by using ‘Delete’ and
‘Edit’) except your local region or PIN code where you (for self delivery) or your carrier partner can deliver orders on time

Note: Ensure you are only configuring those PIN codes which are serviceable by you (for self delivery) or carrier partner on
SDD/1DD/2DD ship speeds. We recommend you to get a legal contract with the carrier partner which includes a clause on
timely pickup and delivery of orders as per agreed timelines for SDD/1DD/2DD speeds. (Ensure that your agreement will
cover expedited delivery speeds)

2) Add shipping fee: Following table shows the various default shipping fee values to select basis your program type. As
per the Local Shops program policy, a seller can charge shipping fee from customers, however, a Local Shops – Prime
seller can charge shipping fees from a Non-Prime customer only. Further, Two day delivery is free for both Prime and non-
Prime customers.
Note:
• In case you wish to charge a different amount or beyond the shipping fees provided in the dropdowns, please submit
a request to us by sending an email to [email protected]
• If you are Local Shops sellers, you can configure shipping fee in the following sequence only: Expedited Delivery <=
Standard Delivery <= 2 Day <= 1 Day <= Same Day
• To activate Local Shops - Prime, your shipping templates must have Two-day delivery selected; without which you
will not be able to save changes and activate Prime.
• Also, while on Prime, you can only select regions under One day and Same day which are already selected under Two
day delivery option
2. Assign SKUs
Note:
• If you are using ‘Selected Self Ship Template’ or an existing default shipping template (‘Migrated Template’), please
skip this section and move to next step. This section is only applicable if you opted for ‘Create New Shipping
Template’ option in the previous step
• If you’re also an Easy Ship Prime seller and have restricted certain SKUs from showcasing the Prime badge
(through SKU restriction process) please ensure additionally that these restricted SKUs are not assigned to ‘Local
Shops – Prime’ enabled template as well, so that promise to customers for your listings are made accurate by
removal of (or suppressing) Prime badge
There are two ways to assign SKUs to your newly created Local Shops shipping template and they are:
a) Manage Inventory page: With this approach, you can assign 1 or more SKUs by using the checkbox field on against each
SKU on ‘Manage Inventory’ page.
i. Go to Inventory > Manage Inventory page and select SKU(s) by clicking the checkbox on left and then on the ‘Action on
selected’ dropdown on the top

shipping templates in bulk by providing the shipping templates name under column ‘merchant_shipping_group_name’
field against each SKU. Learn more
3. Update Order Cut-off times and Operating Days Cut off time is the time of the day till when you would receive orders that need to be fulfilled (i.e. marked as shipped in
Seller Central and handed over to the carrier) on the same day. Any orders beyond the cut off time of the particular day
could be processed the following day. After enrolling onto Local Shops, your account would be set to default cut-off times:
5:00 PM for One day and Two day delivery and 2:00 PM for Same day delivery. You can change the order cut-off times to
help you distribute volumes evenly for all three delivery speeds.
The following table gives the timelines on when you should ship, confirm and deliver an order, basis order type to ensure
delivery promise to customer is fulfilled. Orders not confirmed by ship by date will get cancelled, impact your account
performance and you will be charged cancellation fee.

2) How can you process Local Shops orders? There are two methods available to process Local Shops orders: (i) Confirm shipment and (ii) Buy Shipping. Similar to self
ship orders, you will also have ‘Confirm Shipment’ option for all Local Shops orders. Additionally, you will also have ‘Buy
Shipping’ option, if your account is activated to use Amazon Delivery App (mobile application). Let’s review them in detail.
a) Confirm shipment: This option must be used if you are using an Amazon Integrated Carrier for deliveries. Also, you must
have a valid tracking number (searchable on carrier’s official website). In case, you choose a non-integrated carrier while
ship confirming a Local Shops orders, it may impact your Valid Tracking Rate metric. To Confirm Shipment,
i. Go to Orders > Manage Orders page
ii. Select an unshipped order and click on the ‘Confirm shipment’ button
iii. On the ‘Confirm Shipment’ page: Select ‘Ship Date’ and ‘Carrier’ from the drop-down, and enter ‘Tracking ID’ (provide valid
tracking ID supplied by the carrier)
iv. Click ‘Self Ship - Confirm shipment’ button
b) Buy Shipping: This option can be used to update delivery scans through Amazon Delivery App when you are delivering
orders by yourself (in case you have delivery agents). This helps us forward the tracking information to customers thereby
allowing them to track order on real-time basis. Failing to update pickup and delivery scans would lead to impact on your
Valid Tracking Rate metric. To understand the working of ‘Buy Shipping’ option, follow the below steps:
i. Go to Orders> Manage Orders page
ii. Select an unshipped order and click on the ‘Buy Shipping’ button
iii. On the next screen, enter package dimensions & weight and click on ‘Buy Shipping’ button again
iv. Tracking ID will be generated by clicking on the ’print label’ button on the
final screen. You need to scan the bar code using Amazon Delivery App.

Can I process Local Shops orders after Ship by
Date?
Where can I generate invoice for Local Shops
orders in Seller Central
No, all Local Shops orders need to be processed (ship
confirm/buy shipping depending on your mode of
delivery) on/before Ship by Date, failing which they will
get auto cancelled. This will impact your performance
metrics and you will be charged cancellation fee (100% of
referral fee). In case buyer reaches out for order
cancellation, the buyer will be redirected to contact
Amazon CS team.
Invoices can be generated after an order is processed (ship
confirm/ buy shipping). You can verify the details and print
the invoice using ‘Print tax invoice’ button from ‘Manage
Orders page’ or ‘Order Details’ page. Follow the help page on
more details on invoicing and reports.
Manage Performance This section will help you understand the various order performance metrics that you will need to track in order to ensure
that customer experience is upheld and your Local Shops program eligibility is not impacted.
1) What performance metrics should I track on Local Shops?
You must track the following metrics and ensure they are not breached (in trailing 30 days period).
a) Your Valid Tracking Rate should be 100.0%
b) Your On-Time Delivery Rate is above 97.0%
c) Your Cancellation Rate is below 0.5%
d) Your Order Defect Rate is below 0.5%
*On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) metric measures how many of your shipments are delivered or attempted on time. OTDR is calculated as
number of shipments delivered or attempted on or before the promised delivery date divided by the total number of tracked shipments in
that period.
Breaching any of the above metrics may result in the removal of Local Shops or Local Shops – Prime eligibility, as the case
may be, from your account. If you have enabled Prime badge on Local Shops, breaching of the above metrics can also
result in removal of your Easy Ship Guaranteed Delivery / Prime eligibility. You can continue to sell on standard self ship
even if removed from the Local Shops Program.
2) How can I track my performance on Local Shops? To track performance of your Local Shops orders, you can use the Local Shops
Performance widget in Seller Central (Performance > Account Health >
Eligibilities). If you are enrolled on Local Shops – Prime, use Program Eligibility
Scorecard (Performance > Account Health > Eligibilities > Access your Seller
Fulfilled Prime performance metrics here).
