Today we will be looking at what a recount is and how to differentiate between a recount and other types of writing.

So, what is a recount?

A re-telling of an event

A written account of something that you experienced

Like an open letterSimilar to a

news report, but less formal

A way to spread a story

What features can you find?

Who did the activity?

Where did it all take place?

Why was the activity carried out?

Main body

Write in chronological order.

Write in paragraphs.

Write about what happened during the activity.

Use detailed and technical vocabulary.

Use sequential words.
