Common Services provides secure access between the client browser and management server. It does this using SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL encrypts the transmission channel between the client, and server.

Communication between multiple Lms Servers is enabled by a trust model addressed by certificates and shared secrets. System Identity setup helps you to create a "trust" user on servers that are part of a multi-server setup. This user enables communication among servers that are part of a domain. There can only be one System Identity User for each machine.

Users in Help Desk, Approver, and Network Operator roles are not allowed to stop and delete jobs. All users (including Help Desk) can access the Job Browser page. The Refresh icon in Job browser is available for all users.
Free locked resources

Renaming User Defined Fields

The User Defined Fields (UDFs) are used to store the additional information about a device. DCR supports a maximum of ten UDFs.
By default, the user interface provides four UDFs:

You can add six more UDFs through the user interface. You can rename or delete all the UDFs including the four default UDFs provided by the user interface.

Configuring a Default Credentials Set

Dynamic Updates are asynchronous updates that are based on SNMP MAC notifications traps.

Viewing Normal Devices

Normal devices are devices that have been successfully contacted by LMS, or the device has contacted LMS at least once (polling, successful job completion, Syslog receipt). This indicates that this was a real device in the network (at one point in time).
This state does not guarantee that you have had a successful Inventory and Configuration Collection.
Viewing Pending Devices
Cisco Prime LMS Portal > RME > Devices > Device Management > Pending Devices
When the device is added to LMS, device management moves the device into this state, and invokes all the registered application tasks such as Inventory Collection and Configuration collection.
Based on the results of the tasks, the device moves to one of these states—Pre-deployed, Normal or Aliased.
The Pending state is a transient state and no device will be in this state for any significant time. If the devices are in this state for a longer time, you can suspend the devices and resubmit for managing.
Working with pre-deployed devices

In the Pre-deployed device state, the device has never been contacted by LMS through protocols such as SNMP, Telnet, or SSH.
If LMS contacts the device through tasks such as Inventory polling, Configuration polling, and receiving syslog messages, the device moves to a Normal state.
