A very common type of listening

Similar to the reading skill of scanning

Thinking about what we need to understand and

listening for that information.

Ex. Name of an object, telephone number,date, year, etc.

How to listen effectively? Read questions quickly before listening

and predict what kind of information they need to listen.

Underline the key words and find the synonyms of them

Use the knowledge to guess the answer the speakers can say.

Don’t try to listen for every word, should pay attention to where needed information is and try to catch it
