2014Graduating ClassBA (Hons) Dance

WelcomeWe were co-founded by Mark Featherstone-Witty and Sir Paul McCartney. Teaching formally began in 1995.

The vision was to emphasise collaboration by bringingtogether all the event disciplines into a coherent andholistic curriculum. For our dancers, this would meandeveloping a broad range of skills in dance within thecontext of learning with students from other disciplines.

Our dancers study a variety of forms including jazz,contemporary, ballet, tap and commercial. This iscomplemented by acting and singing training, to meet the demands of an evolving industry. Students also studychoreography and have the opportunity to develop theirabilities in this area through our annual choreographycompetition.

All students are encouraged to ‘know’ as well as ‘do’ and have the confidence to be both entrepreneurial andcreative about their own careers. Our dancers acquire amulti-disciplinary approach to the arts, with a soundknowledge of practice and theory and the ability torecognise the opportunities that the entertainmenteconomy provides for versatile and enterprising artists.

Outside of their studies, dance students have theopportunity to collaborate with those from otherdisciplines to devise and run their own dance, acting andmusical theatre productions.

An invitationOur goal is to provide the kind of learning that will allowgraduates to find sustained work. At present, 91% ofthem are doing just this. We always hope to be responsiveto the needs and demands of the industry and we trulyappreciate your support and interest.
