Project 3 Homework Tasks

Art Homework

You will receive a piece of art homework each week.

We advise that you bring in a USB stick so that we can save this terms homework tasks, examples and help sheets onto it for you.

This is useful if you are away ill as you will still need to complete the homework.

Extension tasks are provided, students who wish to get B, A or A* grades are strongly encouraged to complete this extra work!

LO: Learning about the use of ‘Line’ in drawingi

Task:

Produce a drawing in tonal pencil of any musical instrument from an unusual angle.

Your drawing should be around A4 in size.

There are examples of this shown to the left of this page.

Task:

1) Create a page of information about your group painting.

Include in this the photograph which you took last week!

2) Write a comparison between this and any painting by Kandinsky. Use the help sheet on the next slide to help you.

Task:

Produce a computer drawing in colour of any musical instrument of your choice.

Your drawing should be around A4 in size once printed

Task:

Produce a musical instrument themed stiff life, it can be either A4 or A3 in size.

You can either complete this in tonal pencil shading or in a coloured medium of your choice.

Tasks:

Produce a Kandinsky fact sheet, this should contain information about him and his work.

You will need to produced two A4 sheets of work

Present this is a create way, use the examples of the Magritte fact sheets on the left and the next slide to help you with your presentation ideas.

Replace the Surrealism title with Expressionism.

LO: Learning about the use of ‘colour’ in drawingi

Produce an A4 sized coloured painting based on a music concert or festival which you have attended, in the style of Kandinsky.

If you haven't been to a concert then choose your favourite band music video to base your picture on.

Tasks:

Choose any one of Kandinsky's paintings to analyse. You will need to answer all of the questions on the how to analyse a painting help sheet.

You will need to produced two A4 sheets of work for this task.

Tasks:

Complete the worksheet task for your glass bottle design.

You will need to produce an A4 Kandinsky bottle design in colour which is annotated.

It is important with this design that you take into account the constraints and limitations of the material which you will be working with.

If you don’t want to base your design on a Kandinsky painting, then you may wish to take some photographs of your school work / homework to help inspire your bottle design.

Do not panic, these are extra pieces of work that you can choose to do!

They are aimed at our Gifted and Talented students or for those who wish to aim for B, A or A* grade.

You can choose to do as many or as few as you wish!

The deadline for these is the end of your project!

Homework Extension task A:


Tasks:

1) Produce a Kandinsky style drawing using a computer inspired by any piece of music of your choice.

Your drawing can be either A4 or A3 when printed.

2) Write a comparison (using the comparison help sheet on the next slide) which compares your computer drawing to any one of Kandinsky's paintings!

LO: Learning about the use of ‘space’ in drawingi

Task:

Produce an outline drawing of any musical instrument ion an A4 sheet of paper. Using a ruler, divide this up into triangular sections.

Cut out and rearrange these pieces so that your drawing no long makes any sense.

Glue them down in place and add tonal shading using coloured pencil crayons of your choice.

There is an example of this on the left to help inspire you.

Task:

Produce a colourful ‘flower power’ painting which is made up from musical elements.

Your painting can be either A4 or A3 when finished.

Task:

Produce a drawing made from the words or lyrics from your favourite song.

Your drawing can be either A4 or A3 when completed in any media of your choice.

Task:

Produce a drawing of a face which is made up of music scores and notations.

Your drawing can be either A4 or A3 when finished.

Task:

Produce a collage made up from images of a musical theme. You can obtain these from newspapers and magazines or print them from the internet.

Think carefully about your choice of background and how you compose the images together.

There are some examples of these on the left to help inspire you.

Produce an abstract style pencil tonal drawing of any instrument of your choice.

Your drawing can be either A4 or A3 when completed.
