Instructions

Round 61 RS. Yarn F (G): Ch1, 5sc, *FPtr around each of 2 FPtr below, skip 2 sts, 7sc (or 8sc if increase is involved); repeat from * around making 3sc instead of 8sc in last repeat, join with ss in fi rst sc after ch1 (change to Yarn A), turn. Remove markers – 666 sts.

Round 62 WS. Note: all increases are made in one of 2 FPtr.Yarn A: Ch2, 13dc, *2dc in next st, 36dc; repeat from * 16 more times, 2dc in next st, 23dc, join with ss in fi rst dc after ch2 (change to Yarn F (G), turn – 684 sts.

Round 63 RS. Note: make all FPtr2tog in the same way as on Round 47 (Part 5). First FPtr2tog is made around FPtr below lying to the left from current st. For an easy count: there are 3 sc above every other tr4tog from Round 57 (and 4 sc above the rest of tr4tog from Round 57).Yarn F (G): Ss in each of next 3 sts, ch1, *FPtr2tog, skip 1 st, 4sc, FPtr2tog, skip 1 st, 3sc, (FPtr2tog, skip 1 st, 4sc) twice; repeat from * around making last 3 sc in ss at the beg of the round, join with ss in fi rst FPtr2tog after ch1 (change to Yarn A), turn – 684 sts.

Round 64 WS. Yarn A: Ch2, 26dc, *2dc in next st, 37dc; repeat from * 16 more times, 2dc in next st, 11dc, join with ss in fi rst dc after ch2, ss in each of next 2 sts. Mark dc of this round where last ss was

Round 65 RS. Note: make all FPtr4tog in the same way as you did on Round 49. First skipped st of this round will be marked dc. Make first 2 sc of the round in ss of previous round.Ch1 (change to Yarn F (G). *(FPtr4tog, skip 1 st, 9sc) 3 times, FPtr4tog, skip 1 st, 8sc; repeat from * around, join with ss in first FPtr4tog (change to Yarn A, cut Yarn F (G), remove marker, turn – 702 sts.

Round 66 WS. Yarn A: Ch2, 4dc, *2dc in next st, 38dc; repeat from * 16 more times, 2dc in next st, 34dc, join with ss in first dc after ch2 (change to Yarn D), turn – 720 sts.

Round 67 RS. Yarn D: Ch2, *59dc, 2dc in next st; repeat from * around, join with ss in first dc after ch2 (change to Yarn A, cut Yarn D), don’t turn – 732 sts.

Round 68 RS! Note: first sc on this and next round is made in same st as join.Ch1, *5sc, FPtr around st from 2 rows below (keep FPtr vertical), skip 1 st; repeat from * around, join with ss in first sc after ch1, don’t turn – 732 sts.

Round 69. Shaping octagon. Continue with Yarn A.Ch1, *20sc, 5hdc, 15dc, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) in next st, 15dc, 5hdc, 51sc, 5hdc, 15dc, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) in next st, 15dc, 5hdc, 30sc; repeat from * 3 more times, join with ss in first sc after ch1. Fasten off, mark ch2-sps in the corners – 50/51 sc, 10 hdc, 32 dc along each of eight sides, ch2-sp in each corner.
