vendors, live music, Arizona builders, games, giveaways,

and more!

Our client was on his motorcycle when another driver crossed traffic while turning left and hit him. He suffered severe injuries

including fractures to both wrists and a torn rotator cuff. We worked hard and were able to put a large settlement in his

Shelley Martin of Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale hosted the 7th annual Peace Out, Prostate Cancer Ride in memory of her father, grandfather, and others who have passed from prostate cancer. The event finished with a con-cert performance by Buckcherry.

There was also the 14th annual T-Bar Trail Ride that featured an awesome line up of concerts including Black Horse, 74th Street Band, and George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

The 7th annual Saddle up for Kids ride was also amazing! This poker run covers 235 miles of Arizona scenes and highways. Throughout the week, you could catch Clint Ewing and his freestyle stunt show, visit vendors, and see the latest gadgets. The week ended with concerts by Three Doors Down and Godsmack.

We decided to bring you a safety product this month! Judd and Karla Smith are the owners of Lightning Strike, a company that manufactures and sells motorcycle safety light systems. These are high-intensity, optical LEDs that with the push of a button, flash to alert drivers around you.

Judd worked at Honeywell as an engineer and aircraft accident investigator for 15 years when he decided he needed to pursue other options. Around that time, Judd started riding motorcycles and saw the need to be more visible. And so, the Visual Horn was created.

With his background in engineering, Judd was able to build a system using LED lights that helped him become more visible to drivers. He then took the next step and decided that the Visual Horn should be mass produced so that all riders could increase their visibility while on the road. After filing for patent protection in 2014, he started selling these front-mounted lighting systems.

His utility patent was issued in 2018, which secured the rights to use flashing LED lights for the purpose of preventing motorcycle accidents. These can be purchased online, through motorcycle dealerships, and in motorcycle repair shops. A front-mounted system costs $275; a rear system is $125.

Many motorcycle owners are able to install the system themselves, or technicians at repair shops can as well. These systems are sold worldwide. Judd and Karla love helping riders be safe and enjoy receiving testimonials from riders all over. Some police departments have also started using these on their motorcycle units for additional officer safety.

As for the future of the company, they are currently working on a second design that will be wireless and battery operated - a peel-and-stick system anyone can bring home and attach to their bike themselves in minutes.
