Making letters and numbers in the snow- children can use sticks, fingers and footprints to make numbers and letters in the snow.

Using sticks to create letters and numbers- sticks/twigs can be arranged to practice the shapes of letters and numbers.

Counting games using nature- as you throw snowballs into the water, you can count as each one enters the water.

Trees and leaves can also be a good way of using letters and numbers- good source for learning to count and practice numeracy

Counting and learning numbers with stones- stones can be grouped together to promote counting and can also be used to create number and letter shapes

Writing with rocks on rocks can be helpful for older children.
