GROUP A
I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students shall be able to:1. Identify the parts and functions of a cell .2. Differentiate plant and animal cell.
II. Subject Matter:A. Topic: Cell structures and FunctionsB. Materials: video streaming , worksheetsC. Reference: Biology by Carmelita Murphy-Capco pp.156-160, www.teach-nology.com, www.youtube.com
III. Learning Strategies:A. Motivation: The teachers presents a short video streaming and after viewing post the following questions:
1. What are the parts and functions of a cell?2. In what ways are plant cell different from animal cells?
B. Evidences: Title of the activity: The Plant and Animal CellTeacher’s Activity: The teacher will supervise the students while investigating animal and plant cell. After the students have performed the said investigation/activity, discuss findings together as class.Students’ Activity: Using a microscope, grouped students will prepare and look at a paper-thin layer of onion skin And human cheek cells. Find the parts of cell and record observations.
C. Explanation/Discussion1. Name the parts and functions of cell organelles.2. Using the Venn diagram, students will differentiate plant and animal cell or by completing a chart, followed
by series of questions.D. Connections: Use the Activity- If I were A…..?
Direction: Choose an organelle from a cell. Pretend you are in the following questions:Questions:1. What is your job?
2.How do you look like?3. Do you have co-workers in your job?4. When food gets taken into the cell, what do you do?
