ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਗਜ ਮੀਨ ਕੁਰੰਗਾ ॥ in so many incarnations, you were an elephant, a fish and a deer.

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਪੰਖੀ ਸਰਪ ਹੋਇਓ ॥ In so many incarnations, you were a bird and a snake.

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਹੈਵਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਖ ਜੋਇਓ ॥੧॥ In so many incarnations, you were yoked as an ox and a horse. ||1||

ਬ੍ਮਲੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਬ੍ਮਲਨ ਕੀ ਰਰੀਆ ॥ Meet the Lord of the Universe - now is the time to meet Him.

ਬ੍ਿਰੰਕਾਲ ਇਹ ਦੇਹ ਸੰਜਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ After so very long, this human body was fashioned for you. ||1||Pause||

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਸੈਲ ਬ੍ਗਬ੍ਰ ਕਬ੍ਰਆ ॥ In so many incarnations, you were rocks and mountains;

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਗਰਭ ਬ੍ਹਬ੍ਰ ਖਬ੍ਰਆ ॥ in so many incarnations, you were aborted in the womb;

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਸਾਖ ਕਬ੍ਰ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ in so many incarnations, you developed branches and leaves;

ਲਖ ਿਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਬ੍ਨ ਭਿਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ you wandered through 8.4 million incarnations. ||2||

Where we go?

• The body gets left behind like a old pair of clothes.

• The atam and the mind make the journey through the 8.4 million junes.

• The amount of time we have on this planet is dictate by our breath how we spend our breath dictates where we go.

ਅੰਬ੍ਤ ਕਾਬ੍ਲ ਜੋ ਲਛਮੀ ਬ੍ਸਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਬ੍ਿੰਤਾ ਮਬ੍ਹ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such

thoughts,

ਸਰਪ ਜੋਬ੍ਨ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੧॥ shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of snakes. ||1||

ਅਰੀ ਰਾਈ ਗੋਬ੍ਰਦ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਬ੍ਤ ਰੀਸਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause||

ਅੰਬ੍ਤ ਕਾਬ੍ਲ ਜੋ ਇਸਤਿੀ ਬ੍ਸਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਬ੍ਿੰਤਾ ਮਬ੍ਹ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such

thoughts,

ਰੇਸਵਾ ਜੋਬ੍ਨ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੨॥ shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2||

ਅੰਬ੍ਤ ਕਾਬ੍ਲ ਜੋ ਲਬ੍ਿਕੇ ਬ੍ਸਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਬ੍ਿੰਤਾ ਮਬ੍ਹ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such

thoughts,

ਸੂਕਰ ਜੋਬ੍ਨ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥ shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3||

ਅੰਬ੍ਤ ਕਾਬ੍ਲ ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਬ੍ਸਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਬ੍ਿੰਤਾ ਮਬ੍ਹ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such

thoughts,

ਪਿੇਤ ਜੋਬ੍ਨ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਵਬ੍ਲ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੪॥ shall be reincarnated over and over again as a ghost. ||4||

ਅੰਬ੍ਤ ਕਾਬ੍ਲ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਬ੍ਸਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਬ੍ਿੰਤਾ ਮਬ੍ਹ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such

thoughts,

ਰਦਬ੍ਤ ਬ੍ਤਲੋਿਨੁ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਪੀਤੰਰਰੁ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਦੈ ਰਸੈ ॥੫॥੨॥ says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his

heart. ||5||2||

ਰਾਧੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਜੇਵਰੀ ਮੀਠੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ॥ The rope of death binds those who are in love with the sweet taste of Maya.

Kall- Time/ Death

If you are thinking about the past you are dead to the present.

If you are thinking about the future you are dead to the present.

If you are present you recognize the giver of life and are alive.

ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਬ੍ਸਰਹੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਬ੍ਤਿਬ੍ਰਬ੍ਧ ਮਨਸਾ ॥The Messenger of Death hangs over their heads, and they cannot escape the three-phased desire.

ਬ੍ਤਨ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਬ੍ਵਆਪਈ ਬ੍ਜਨ ਸਿੁ ਅੰਬ੍ਮਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੇ ॥ The Messenger of Death does not touch those who drink in Amrith.

ਸਰਬ੍ਦ ਮਰੈ ਸੋ ਮਬ੍ਰ ਰਹੈ ਬ੍ਿਬ੍ਰ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ॥ ਸਰਦੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਬ੍ਰ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗੈ ਬ੍ਪਆਰੁ ॥ ਬ੍ਰਨੁ ਸਰਦੈ ਜਗੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਬ੍ਿਰੈ ਮਬ੍ਰ ਜਨਮੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੭॥

One who dies in the Shabad is beyond death, and shall never die again.

Through the Shabad, we find Him, and embrace love for the Name of the Lord.

Without the Shabad, the world is deceived; it dies and is reborn, over and over again. ||7||

ਥਾਕਾ ਤੇਜੁ ਉਬ੍ਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਘਬ੍ਰ ਆਂਗਬ੍ਨ ਨ ਸੁਖਾਈ ॥ Your light has gone out, and the bird of your mind has flown away; you are no longer welcome in your own home and courtyard.

ਰੇਣੀ ਕਹੈ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਭਗਤਹੁ ਮਰਨ ਮੁਕਬ੍ਤ ਬ੍ਕਬ੍ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੫॥ Says Baynee, listen, O devotee: who has ever attained liberation after such a death? ||5||

If God is immortal and we are a reflection of God shouldn’t we be immortal?

ਕਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਸਾਸਾ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਬ੍ਰਲਮ ਨ ਕਬ੍ਰਹੋ ਮੀਤ ॥ How can you rely on the body? Do not delay, my friend;

ਨਹ ਰਾਬ੍ਰਕ ਨਹ ਜੋਰਨੈ ਨਹ ਬ੍ਰਰਧੀ ਕਛੁ ਰੰਧੁ ॥ there is nothing to stand inDeath's way - neither in childhood, nor in youth, nor in old age.

ਓਹ ਰੇਰਾ ਨਹ ਰੂਝੀਐ ਜਉ ਆਇ ਪਰੈ ਜਮ ਿੰਧੁ ॥ That time is not known, whenthe noose of Death shall come and fall on you.

ਆਪੈ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਮੁ ਕਬ੍ਰ ਮੁਗਲੁ ਿਿਾਇਆ ॥

The Creator Himself does not take the blame, but has sent the Mogal as the messenger of death

ਬ੍ਸਮਰਤ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਮਾਰ ॥Remembering the Lord in meditation, you shall not be punished by the Messenger of Death.
