What is Project 2996 Doing for the 13th Anniversary?

The 13th Anniversary of September 11th is fast approaching, what Project 2996 is doing to honor of this? We‘re going with a three-pronged approach

First of all, we‘re continuing to pursue our goal of at least one onling tribute foreach and every September 11th victim. More tributes are welcome!

Second, we‘re continuing with the Project 2996 Group Board on Pinterest, where we want to see at least one pin for every victim (ideally tied to a tribute).

Third. Well, this will come later in the presentation.

Keeping the Memory of the Victims Alive..

As time goes by there are more and more things to crowd out the memory of the victims and their families.

None of us want to see the victims and their families remembered on some 30 second spot in the news outlets, buried as filler that nobody cares about!

We want to make something positive out of that terribly tragic day!

The Legacy of September 11th

Working on some pins for the Project 2996 group pinboard, I realized that a lot has been done to recognize the lives of the victims and to keep their memory alive. Scholarships, foundations, and charities have been created in their honor. Buildings, parks, streets, and schools have been named after them. All of this has been done in efforts to build a legacy. At Project 2996, we‘d like to build a legacy of our own and are pleased to announce....

Lessons Learned...

Dale and I have learned a few lessons from our involvement in Project 2996 that we‘d like to apply to this year‘s annivesary...

We want all of the victims remembered in all three of our project campaigns but we realize that this absolutely won‘t happen between now and the end of September 11th. So we‘re proposing that out efforts be concentrated throughth the entire year. Lets set a side some time daily, weekly, in whatever chunks work best for you, but lets get it done! Lets build on the interestest of the anniversary and remember the victims and celebrte the legacy that they‘ve built and are building!

You can leave a wall post on the Facebook page.

You can leave a comment on the Contact Me Page of our Web Page.

Look for more information in the coming days about pinning and so on

And don‘t forget that we still need more tributes to reach our goal of a ‚real‘ online tribute for every victim by a ‚real‘ person and that our classic Project 2996 Group Pinboard is going on towards its goal of pins for all the victims

Playing With Numbers

I confess, I‘m facinated by numbers and I don‘t believe that I‘m the only one.

The number thirteen (13) has long had an „unlucky“ image associated with it, lots of people recoil at the very mention of the number, thinking that it brings back luck

Given the nature of what happened on September Eleventh, we can‘t really change that, but lets put some Legacy into this year‘s commemorations. All of the victims have left some kind of Legacy, let us see if we can‘t find it and let the world know!
