SENIOR PASSPORT NEWS YOU NEED

Ever wonder what the secret is to “staying young” as you age? We have some remarkable people in our Senior

Passport program. These three are in the 90 and over category! We asked Jean Kunitz, Jean Shellenberger, and

Betty Mason to tell us a little about their life and what this program means to them.

Jean Shellenberger says: “I have been a member of Senior Passport for almost 17 years and really appreciate the

opportunity it gives us to exercise and socialize with other “seniors”. I am thankful to have made it into my 90’s.

So far it is not half bad!”

Jean Kunitz said: “I have been a member of WNJ Senior Passport since July 2000. Exercising with Cheryl all

these years has contributed to my good health, I feel sure. I think the secret to a long and happy life is having faith

in God, staying connected to family and friends, and being involved interesting and varied activities.”

Betty Mason moved around a lot as a child, (every 5 to 6 months because of her dads job), but they always had a

two week vacation to visit family. She graduated from NTAC, which is now UT Arlington. That is where she

met Bert, her husband of almost 60 years. Bert was a Senior Passport member also until his passing in 2008. She

had 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. So you can see family is a big part of keeping Betty

young!

It has been a great first seventeen years for the WNJ Senior Passport program. Thank you all for choosing WNJ!

We are glad to have you as part of the WNJ family and provide excellent programs and care for our community.
