This course discusses different models to provide oral health in a community based setting, engaging the local leaders, families, teachers and medical care providers as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role of the different social actors is analyzed, and the strategies for sustainability are discussed. There are many models and each one has its own ins and outs, thus a discussion on successful experiences will help to identify appropriate ways to provide care, promote oral health, and at the same time, have a financially sustainable project.

Natalia Slusky, DDS, PhD, MSDr. Slusky is an Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. She received her MS degree in Health Care Management from Cal State Los

Angeles and focuses much of her teaching and research on healthcare issues including practice behaviors and financial sustainability.
