Dental Hygiene students are using a new intraoral camera which is part of an extensive technology upgrade that oc-curred in the dental clinic during the summer. Each clinic operatory and radiology room has been equipped with a computer, monitor, and an intraoral camera docking station. Three intraoral cameras were also purchased as part of the upgrade. Computer software has been installed which will allow the clinic to reduce the use of paper forms for clinic client records.

During the fall and spring semesters students in the Nutrition 376 and Nutrition 396 courses will be assisting in the S.O.U.L. Empowerment Fitness and Nutrition Days on Bellemeade Ave. On days when students in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation do not have classes, children ages 2-18 can learn about and participate in fitness and nutrition activities. The four USI students shown in the first picture are doing a Food Guide Pyramid project with children from the EVSC focused on increasing fruit intake. The children tried mango, kiwi and pears. Older children worked on a project about portion sizes and younger children played nutrition bingo. S.O.U.L. Empowerment offers this program for $10 per family per day with support from the Welborn Baptist Foundation.
