Reading 1. What is the best way to learn a
language?
I think the best way to do this is to go to
a country where the language is spoken.
Because if we are there, what we hear,
see and meet are all foreign. As long as
we communicate with others, we must
use the foreign language. I think in such a
n atmosphere anyone can learn a foreign
language faster.
2. Is it possible for you to study abroad?
What should we do to begin with?
Yes, it is. We should find out as much as
possible about different programmes, incl
uding the cost and length of our stay.
3. Where can we get the information?
Go to exchange student associations,
where we can get useful information.
4. What are the advantages and disad
vantages of study abroad?
Advantages
a. become fluent in the new language
b. make friends with people from different backgrounds
c. understand another culture d. broaden your horizons and improve
your understanding of the world e. learn about yourself and what your
culture is really like f. learn to depend on yourself
Disadvantages
a. possible for some of them to fall
behind in the studies
b. not be able to take classes at the
same level as at home
c. parents worry about the safety of
their children and may also be
concerned about the cost
5. If you were offered a chance to
study abroad for a year, would you like
to go? Why or why not?
If I am offered a chance to study
abroad for a year, I’ll be very glad
to do so. I’d like to go to Britain. Be
cause I can learn pure English there.
The Englishmenare friendly. I’m s
ure I would learn a lot about the co
untry and its culture.
