Le Régent International School Library Guide

Le Régent International School Library endeavours to cultivate a genuine love of reading and to empower students with the information literacy skills necessary to prepare them for a lifetime of learning. As an International School our Library is committed to fostering intellectual curiosity and developing a whole school reading community.

The Library aims to:· help students and staff find, use and evaluate a range of resources and

information.

· source content and curate hybrid collections to support the Curriculum.

· Be at the forefront of technological change, using and teaching new technologies as they emerge.

· use digital tools to promote print and electronic resources.

To fulfil this the library has invested heavily in subscribing to and promoting the following ICT tools and resources. Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with each and feel free to contact me if you need more information or to discuss how we could work together to utilise any of this in your lessons.

1. Our Library Catalogue (using AccessIt Library Management System)

You can search as a guest or login with your borrower number (email me for more details) to reserve, renew, add to your bibliography or even review an item. Check out our Quick Lists too.

2. The School Library Blog. For loads more resources on books, reading, research and information visit Le Régent International School Library blog. There is a specific ‘Teachers’ Space’ which allows you to

request resources and/or make recommendations for the library collection. Password for this is: Bond
