Selling Through the Old Cookbook

1. Place cookbooks on the communal tables. Not only does this add color, but it makes guests aware of the book and allows them to hold and flip through it. A book should be placed on each end of the table with Alain looking out away from the middle of the table.

• Add a sticker to the front of the book indicating the price and where to buy. • If you want to sell through quickly, recommend decreasing the price.

2. Give the cookbook prime real estate on retail shelves, displaying at least ten books at all times. At least one cookbook should face the guest (only showing the spine will not sell books).

3. If possible, build a retail tower of books on a high top table, using multiple languages for color if you have them. Remember “Pile ‘em high, watch ‘em fly.”

4. Offer incentives for the store employee who sells the most books every week.
