A message from our Principal… Good afternoon everyone, Last week LPS celebrated the efforts of our non-teaching staff, who help daily in classrooms, school offices and in maintaining our grounds.

I would like to acknowledge the dedicated people who assist in the day-to-day running of our schools. School Administrative and Support Staff Recognition Week is an annual event. On behalf of the teaching staff at LPS, I’d like to say thanks to:

Kham Lepkhammany our General Assistant,

Robyn Gill, our School Administrative Manager,

Jo Kearney, Kathy Todd, Sadie Sawyer, Pat Kuhne our School Administrative Officers, and Ryan Brown, Kelly Cunningham, Liz Haanstra, Sally Oates, Wendy Schulz, Yedu Bhandari, Simone Emerson-Smith, Kalwindi Mbele, Naomi Musemu, Kathy Scanlon and Connor Jory as our School Learning Support Officers.

Our SASS staff are often the first people parents and students see when they come to a school and that first welcoming impression is incredibly important. SASS staff play a vital role in the day-to-day running of schools and are a tremendous support to teachers and students, often playing roles that are varied and complex, from providing first aid care, processing enrolments and finances, to ensuring playgrounds are ready for use.

Lavington Public School is a great place to work and I am truly grateful for the time and effort our staff put in, day in, day out, to ensure all of our students feel known, valued and cared for.

See you all soon,

Brett

The Mascot Challenge

Our K-2 students are taking part in Cricket Australia’s Mascot Challenge.

This cricket based challenge has been developed to assist boys and girls from around Australia, develop fundamental movement skills and physical literacy.

The students are enjoying this program and fingers crossed, later in the term we will receive a visit from Thor Thunder from the Sydney Thunder Big Bash team.

In the meantime let’s cheer on the

Aussies in the Ashes, fourth test!

NSWPSSA Touch Football

Congratulations to Ella Semple and her Riverina touch football team at last week’s State Championships.

The team won 5 games, lost 6 and drew 1, which is a great effort. This placed them in 8th position.

Ella returns from this experience with lifelong memories, new friendships and no doubt sore legs from playing so many games of high intensity touch footy.

Well done Ella! Congratulations also to Ella’s

big brother Ethan, a past student of our school, who was selected as a student referee for the

NSW team. A big effort by the Semples.

Hands ON Learning are looking for:

Parents with any metal work skills, to help work on our shipping container

Any colourful paints so we can brighten up our garden area.

Any donations of time or resources would be greatly appreciated.

Please come in and see Mr C if you are able to assist.
