founded on part of C. W. Tramont No. 2838 Issued to Thomas Hickman for 202 acres
Survey bearing date 26 July 1835 This is granted by the Said State of Tennessee unto
William M. May assignee of Thomas Hickman a certain tract or parcel of land
containing Seventy Seven 1/2 acres situated lying and being in the County of Fayette in
Range 6 & Section 2 Beginning at a stake 44 poles South of the North West corner of
entry No. 2558 for 166 1/2 acres in the name of Samuel Clifft running West 104 poles
to a Black oak thence South 120 poles to an Elm marked C J C on the bank of a branch
thence east 104 poles to a stake three black oak pointers thence North 120 poles to the
Beginning with the hereditaments and appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract
of land or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William M. May and his heirs
forever In Witness whereof James K. Polk governor of the State of Tennessee has
hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of Tennessee to be affixed at Nashville
on the 29th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty and of the Independence of the United States this July 5
