Stock will be sold under the conditions of sale displayed in the mart, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers’ Associtaion for England and Wales.

All heifers offered for sale are not warranted as breeders unlessotherwise stated. Please note that ear numbers for all cattle must be given to the auctioneers on the re-

spective entry forms supplied. All unentered cattle and those missing their turn in the ballot will beoffered for sale at the

end of the catalogued entries.

No lots can leave the market without a ‘pass slip’ being issued by the main office

Purchasers have two working days from time of sale to satisfy themselves that all docu-mentation received is correct and any discrepancies must be notified to the auctioneers within that time limit. Paperwork must accompany livestock and if making multiple loads

please make sure that the paperwork is presented with the first load.

TB Status Notification

If you are a 1 year TB test holding, please ensure your cattle have been tested within the 60 days prior to sale date. Please bring a copy of your current TB Test Certificate with your passports and indicate on the blue entry form how many days remain on your

current test. The information given is for guidance purposes only.

Vendors: please ensure all cattle have two ministry approved ear tags.

Please make sure you have your stock forward as early as possible to ensure your stock is lotted and penned as swiftly as possible.

The February Dairy sale saw a catalogued entry of 29 cows and heifers, of which 26 were

forward. A ring side of buyers were present for all types, however only to a price. Topping the sale was the pre-sale show Champion Stardale Alexander Stella 3, from J Burrow &

Son, Preston, sold giving 30litres and supported by 10 generations of VG and EX, she achieved £1800, selling to Messers Lawson, Cockerham.

The Reserve Champion, Deerslet Solemio Honey, exhibited by R Lawson & Son, Burton in

Kendal, realised £1350. Best heifers in excess of £1500, with straight sorts £1200-£1450. An average of £1260 for

all heifers forward was achieved, in line with the current industry trends. Cows sold to £1380 for a nice 2nd calver from W & C Gorst & Sons, Hole of Ellel. Saltoke

Ross Eva 22 GP81, was sold giving 39litres and purchased by Messers Evans, Whitchurch. Thanks go to today’s judge Steve Garth, Claughton on Brock and the pre-sale show spon-

sors, Northern Nutrition, Ribble Fuel Oils and Wynnstay in association with Elanco.

FROM THE NORTH: Leave the M6 at Junction 34, take the A683 into Lancaster and City Centre. Turn left in front of Town hall and follow signs for the “Cattle Market”.

FROM THE SOUTH: Leave the M6 at Junction 33 and take the A6 North. After the lights (Boot & Shoe) and the BP petrol Station turn right into Barton Road. After ½ mile turn right at the mini roundabout into Coulston Road, ½ mile down there is Wyresdale Road, the Market is there on your right.
