LISD’s annual Cowboy Breakfast

Country music, breakfast tacos, biscuits and gravy, livestock, fun and games were the order of the morning at LISD’s Cowboy

Breakfast. Students and their families donned their best western duds and came on out to celebrate the start of Rodeo in San Antonio. It was a great crowd! Thank you much to the organizers, cafeteria,

custodial crews and all who helped make this another spectacular event.

This year- Dorvall Bedford’s performance to his cell song.

2. What is your favorite song? Favorite band?

‘Everlong’ by Foo Fighters or ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by George Harrison

3. What are your hobbies?

4. What is your greatest accomplishment that is not on your resume?

Flying in a typhoon in the Philippines- rescuing 35 people from a flooding river.

5. Do you know any foreign languages?

Does being fluent in gibberish count?

6. Do you prefer red or green sauce on your enchiladas? Neither. I hate enchiladas.

7. When did you know you wanted to become a teacher?

All my life. Great Grandma to mom were all teachers.

8. What is your favorite book? Favorite author? To Kill a Mockingbird/ Louise Erdrich

9. If you were not teaching what would you be doing?

A travel consultant or a botanist (botany was my first major).

10. What is your favorite color of Skittle®? I wouldn’t even open the bag.

After week two, Lackland Elementary has raised $1054.07 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! This coming Friday January 29, 2016 is the last day to

bring your donations. Remember the winning class receives an Olive Garden spaghetti lunch. As of Friday January 22, 2016 Mrs. Truelove’s 2nd grade class was in 3rd place. Right ahead of them is Mrs. Smith’s Pre-K class and still in 1st

place is Mrs. Rodger’s 2nd grade class. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!

Ms. Kicker visits first graders again in Mrs. Allen’s room to do a

lesson on “NearPod”…..

The students actively responded on their own IPADS to a noun lesson.
