Once there was a lovely mother turtle. She lived ona farm, near a small pond. She had three baby turtles..

One day Mama Turtle took her babies to the pond,so they could learn to

swim. Two of the threelittle turtles jumped into the water, and though they 

 were a little worried atfirst, they got used tothe water and startedswimming around,squealing with delight.

 The third baby turtle,Darling, would not getin the water. Though s

he saw the others wereenjoying it at lot, shejust couldn’t do it. She was afraid of the water.

Her mother came to her, and said softly, “Darling,

I know you’re afraid, but you must try, and I’m

sure you’ll like it. Come with me. If anything 

happens, I’ll save you.”

Érase una vez una amorosa mamá tortuga. Vivía en una granja, cerca de una pequeñalaguna y tenía tres tortuguitas bebés.

Un día la mamá tortuga llevó a sus crías a lalaguna para que aprendieran a nadar.Dos de las tres tortuguitassaltaron al agua, y aunqueestaban un pocopreocupadas al principio,se acostumbraron al agua y 

comenzaron a nadar felicesde la vida.

La tercera cría se llamabaPrimorosa y no se animabaa meterse al agua. Aunque veía que las otras se la

estaban pasando demaravilla, no se atrevía ahacerlo. Tenía miedo del agua.

Su madre se le acercó y le dijo suavemente: — Primorosa, sé que tienes miedo, pero debesintentarlo. Estoy segura de que te va a gustar. Ven conmigo, si algo te pasa yo te salvo.

Primorosa siguió a su mamá y se acercó vacilanteal borde de la laguna. Entonces, muy lentamente,metió una patita en el agua fría. Primero metióuna y luego la otra y pronto estaba chapoteandoen el agua, que era poco profunda.

Su madre le dijo — Primorosa, confía enque el agua temantendrá a flote.

 Y así lo hizo. Se relajó

y confió en que el aguala llevaría. Flotótranquilamente por lalaguna y luego se dejóhundir bajo lasuperficie. Primorosa

estaba fascinada. Habíamucha vida debajo delagua, plantas que se balanceaban en las suavescorrientes, peces que nadaban de un lado a otro.¡Era fenomenal! Primorosa estaba muy agradecida de que su madre la hubiera ayudadoa intentar algo nuevo.

Darling followed her mother and hesitantly approached the edge of the pond. Then, everso slowly, she dipped her foot inside the cool water. First one foot, and then another, until

finally she was paddling in the shallow water.

 Then her mother calledout, “Trust that the water will keep youafloat, darling!”

 And she did. Sherelaxed and trusted thatthe water would holdher up. She floatedpeacefully across thepond, and then letherself sink under thesurface. Darling was

fascinated. There was so much lifeunder the water - plants swaying in the gentlecurrents and fish swimming back and forth. It

 was great! Darling was very thankful that hermother had helped her try something new.

Moraleja: A veces las cosas nuevas dan un poco de miedo oparecen difíciles. Pero solo falta que tengas un poco de fe paracreer que Dios será para ti lo que fue el agua para la tortuga. El tesostendrá y nunca te defraudara.

Moral: Sometimes new things seem a bit scary, or you think they will be 

too difficult. But all you need is a little faith to believe that God will be like 

the water was for the turtle. He will keep you and never let you down.
