With the help of technology, the life today is a lot easier than in the past. One of the new technologies that we see a lot of potential is the NFC (Near Field Communication) - which is a short-range communication technology. It requires 2 devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together, allowing a data exchange at the intrinsic security level, better than Bluetooth.

It is expected that the NFC-based smartphone sales will reach 700 million items this year. The smartphone’s main feature is data transferring between devices, such as photo, contact list, or location sharing. The developers adapt this technology to use in other activities. Retails stores, fast food restaurants and local banks have already adopted NFC technology for their payment service, point collecting and identity confirmation before making transaction. NFC makes the service faster, makes it more convenient for customers and also records each customer activities. The technology can be used in the future services.

In Thailand, NFC technology hasn’t become popular because it’s new and requires a lot of investment in network. However, now the BTS offers the innovation NFC first time in Thailand with the Rabbit card service. We expect to see more use of NFC technology in Thailand in the near future.

ตเยนขนาดใหญไมไดกนไฟมากเสมอไป ยกตวอยางตเยนขนาด 400 ลตรทมประสทธภาพสงสดในทองตลาด กนไฟเพยง 106 กโลวตตชวโมงตอปเทานน แตตเยนประสทธภาพสงจะมราคาแพงกวาตเยนทวไปประมาณ 5 - 15% ซงกยงถอวาคมคาเพราะชวยประหยดพลงงานและคาไฟ แถมยงมอายการใชงานนานกวาและเครองไมสงเสยงดง ถาเปนไปไดควรหลกเลยงตเยนทมชองแชแขงในตว เพราะจะมประสทธภาพดอยกวาและมพนททำาความเยนลดลง

A bigger size of refrigerator doesn’t always consume more power. For example, a high quality 400- Litre refrigerator consumes 160 kWh per year. However, a high quality refrigerator costs 5-15% more than the usual ones. But higher quality translates to less power consumption, a longer lifetime and a quiet operation. If possible, avoid a fridge with freezer because the quality is lower and you will have less refrigerated space.

เครองใชไฟฟาในปจจบนมกกนไฟแมปดเครองไปแลว แตเราสามารถเลอกซอเครองใชทกนไฟในการใชพลงงานสำารองตำามากๆ โดยการใชพลงงานสำารองมบอกไวในคมอผลตภณฑ หรออกทางเลอกหนงคอการใชปลกพวง เพราะการปดสวตชเพยงครงเดยวสามารถปดการทำางานของเครองใชไฟฟาไดพรอมกนหลายเครอง ทำาใหประหยดไฟไดมากกวา 100 กโลวตตชวโมงตอป

Some appliances require back-up battery even when we turn them off. So, choose home appliances that consume low backup power. The backup power required is instructed in the product manual. Alternatively, you can use an extension power strip. With one button push, you can turn of all appliances connected to the strip, saving more than 100 kWh per year.

หากจะซอเครองซกผาใหม ควรเลอกรนทใชพลงงานนอยกวา 0.9 กโลวตตชวโมงตอรอบการซก และหากเปนเครองอบผาควรมความเรวรอบในการปนท 1,600 - 1,800 รอบตอนาท โดยเครองซกผาทมประสทธภาพสงสดจะชวยประหยดนำาไดถง 1,500 ลตรตอป แตกอยาลมตรวจสอบฉลากประหยดพลงงานดวย

If you are looking for a new washing machine, choose the one that consumes less than 0.9 kWh per use. For dryer, the spinning speed should be 1,600-1,800 rpm. The highest quality of washing machine reduces the water consumption by 1,500 Litre/ year. And don’t forget to look for the Energy Saving Label.
