ENVIRONMENT MINISTERS Library news The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is well under way. Students have until the 21 August to complete the chal-lenge. Please see the table below to check your child’s reading requirements for the PRC. Students need their regular student login to register their books on the website. I am happy to help log on should you need help. Congratulations to the following students who

have already completed the challenge: Jasmin, Alex-ander, Benjamin, Cameron and Cameron. Last Wednesday, during the National Simultaneous Story time, the infants classes, HSUB and 3E thorough-ly enjoyed Aaron Blabey’s ‘The Brothers Quibble.’ We viewed the AUSLAN version of the story, as well as, Aaron personally reading the story. Borrowing days reminders (please bring library books and a library BAG): Monday – 2MG, 2G Tuesday – KF, KC, 1V, 1W Wednesday – 3E, 5/6J, 5/6P, 4E Friday – 5/6W, 3P MS NESBITT - LIBRARIAN School Readiness Session As part of our Transition to School Program, KSPS held a School Readiness Session on Monday night. Parents who attended the session were impressed with the in-formal structure of the night, the chance to meet staff and the ability to ask questions. Thank you to all who attended and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our P&C for providing refreshments on the night and also being there to assist during the discussion. More information regarding our Kindergarten Orienta-tion Sessions will be sent out to relevant families at the end of this term. MRS V COX - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Stage 3 Bathurst Excursion We apologise for the delay in advising the total cost of the excursion. The bus company contracted to transport us to Bathurst sustained substantial flooding of their offices. This has impacted on finalising details of costs associated with our excursion. Students have now been invoiced for the $50 deposit. Please forward this amount by Friday 12 June. A further note will be for-warded home with details outlining the total cost and the dates for further instalment payments. Thank you for your understanding.

PSSA Knockout Soccer Unfortunately the boys soccer team was knocked out of the second round, against Merewether. The boys dominated the game but unfortunately could-n't close the two goal lead that Merewether gained early in the game. Well done overall boys.

Zone Athletics Carnival The Zone PSSA Athletics Carnival is being held Friday 24th and Tuesday 28th July (Term 3 Week 2 and Week

3). The Kotara South team will be an-nounced in Week 9 at assembly. Notes and information regarding the carnival will be sent home upon announcement.
