International Organizations and Corporations have a tremendous reservoir of knowledge and ideas based on the diversity of their staff´s skills, experiences, cultures and perspectives. However organizational or cultural barriers often impede the use of this rich potential, and result in a failure to capitalize on existing knowledge. Knowledge Management is a systematic approach to identifying, acquiring, capturing, transforming, developing, disseminating, using, sharing and preserving knowledge that is relevant for achieving the specific objectives of International Organizations and Corporations.

The Knowledge Management Academy, founded in 2001 in Vienna, Austria, has more than a decade of experience in Knowledge Management (KM) Education. We have worked with many International Organizations and Corporations, helping them to improve their KM approach, implementation and performance. During our annual Conferences, we have honored three International Organizations with the Knowledge Management Award, recognizing their KM related achievements: The International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA, the UN Education Science and Culture Organization UNESCO and the UN Development Program UNDP.

Bundling the practical experiences of KM pioneers from various International Organizations and Corporations such as Siemens and Hewlett Packard, KMA offers a unique,

practice-oriented training program in KM for individuals from International Organizations and Corporations. The vision of the different courses is to help optimize individuals’ and organizations’ Knowledge Management and organizational learning. Our training courses are aimed at improving the generation and capturing as well as the co-creation and sharing of knowledge on a global level – and thus contributing to more efficient Knowledge Management across boarders in International Organizations. These actions seek to ultimately support more efficient collaboration and, among others, the „One UN“ agenda via „One Knowledge“.

We have purposely designed our courses with trainers and for participants from both, the corporate sector and non-profit organizations, because we strongly believe that both can inspire and learn from each other.

Based on our inhouse training experiences we have developed „Knowledge Management Essentials“, composed of three international KM training offerings: the KM Briefing, the KM Essentials Training Course and the KM Advanced Training Course. Make your choice!
