POSITIONING YOUR REFERENCE SERIES SUBWOOFERKlipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deepbass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and musiccome alive. Typically, optimum performance will result if youplace your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wallas your front channel speakers (Refer to figures 1 & 2). Pleasenote that room placement can have a dramatic effect upon theperformance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, assuggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, whileplacing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in theroom will decrease the amount of bass output. Experiment with anumber of different placement options and control settings tofind the one that best suits your particular room and taste. Whenchoosing your subwoofers location, keep in mind that you willneed to connect the subwoofers built-in amplifier to an ACpower outlet.

CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLSCAUTION: Turn off your amplifier and your subwoofer beforemaking any connections. Do not connect both the HighLevel and Line Level inputs at the same time as damageto your equipment could result.

RW-10d / RW-12d / RSW-10dLINE IN -This input is designed as the standard or defaultinput for the subwoofer. It accepts signals from the Left andRight channel pre-amp, subwoofer or LFE outputs of your elec-tronics via the RCA jack inputs. Connect to the RIGHT and/orLEFT/LFE inputs on the subwoofers rear panel (Refer to figures 3 and 5).RW-10d / RW-12dHIGH LEVEL IN - These connections can be used as an alternate connection method to the line level hook up. Using 16- gauge or larger speaker wire, connect the Red positive (+)terminal of your amplifiers Left channel to the Red positive (+)terminal of your subwoofers Left channel HIGH LEVEL INterminal. Connect the Black negative (-) terminal of your ampli-fiers Left channel to the Black negative (-) of your subwoofersLeft channel HIGH LEVEL IN terminal. Repeat this procedure forthe Right channel connections (refer to Figure 4). Take care thatno bare wires from any of the connections can touch any of theother terminals as damage to your equipment could result.

CONTROLSAll of the subwoofers controls, and changes to control settings,are accessed through the cursor key pad and display on the topof the subwoofers cabinet. The only exception to this is the mainAC power switch which is located on the rear panel of the subwoofer.

Use the (UP) or (Down) key to scroll through the list of control options.

Use the (Left) or (Right) Key to make adjustments to a given control setting

Use (IE Center Key) when the appears on the display to store and recall custom settings or to lock the keypad

After adjusting the individual control parameters for Volume,EQ Mode, Low-pass filter and Phase, your settings can be stored in one of three user memories (Movie, Musicand Night). This allows for global recall of all of the above settings to tailor the subwoofers performance to compensate for differing source material and uses.

The display will return to the Volume screen after 10 seconds if no adjustments are made while in any other controlor display mode.

In periods of low humidity, it is possible that a static electricitydischarge to the subwoofer may cause a momentary interruption in the subwoofers output or changes to the LCD display content. Any display content errors will be corrected when the screen changes modes.

Volume - Use the Left/Right cursor keys to adjust the subwoofers volume level to match the output of your mainspeakers. The volume control on your systems main amplifieror pre-amplifier will be the overall volume control for your subwoofer and full range speakers. Press and hold (or press andrelease) the Left cursor key to decrease the subwoofers volume.Press and hold (or press and release) the Right cursor key toincrease the subwoofers volume to the desired level. From this screen press the down cursor key to access other controlsettings.

Recall Settings: - This screen is used to select any one ofthree, user defined, memory presets titled Movie, Music andNight. Use the Left/Right cursor keys to select the desiredgroup of stored control settings and press the Center key toapply them. Settings Recalled! will then be displayed. All of theuser settings, in the three memory presets, can be erased andrestored to their default values by scrolling down to the lastSystem Info screen. Press the Right cursor key twice to get tothe System Reset screen. Press the center cursor key and alluser settings will be replaced with the default settings. ResetComplete will be displayed. During initial setup, skip this screenuntil all other initial control adjustments have been made. Fromthis screen press the down or up cursor key to access other control settings.

EQ Mode: - This screen is used to select two different Bassemphasis settings, titled Punch and Depth. They are designedto complement different types of program material, such asmovie soundtracks or music. The Punch setting emphasizes the60Hz region while the Depth setting boosts the 30Hz range. Athird setting is titled Flat which defeats these two settings. Useof either of these EQ settings will slightly reduce the subwoofersmaximum output capability as they will require more of the subwoofers amplifier power. Use the Left/Right cursor keys toselect the desired EQ setting. From this screen press the downor up cursor key to access other control settings.

Lowpass - This screen is used to adjust the subwoofersupper frequency limit to achieve a proper blend with your systems main speakers. A higher frequency (Hz) is typically usedwith smaller, bass limited main speakers and a lower frequencysetting is customarily used with larger floorstanding models. Thisfilter can be adjusted from 40Hz to 120Hz, as required, ordefeated if the low pass filter function is being performed by yoursystems electronics. Use the Left/Right cursor keys to adjust thelowpass filter. To defeat this filter press and hold the Right cursorkey until Lowpass OFF LFE Mode is displayed. Refer to yoursurround processors owners manual for more Bass

Management information. From this screen press the down or up cursor key to access other control settings.

Phase - This screen is used to adjust the subwoofers acousticphase to match that of your main speakers. Use the Left/Rightcursor keys to adjust the subwoofers phase from 0 to 180.The proper setting of this control is highly dependant on roomacoustics and the position of your subwoofer in the room. Aftersetting the volume and lowpass controls set the phase to 0 andlisten to a recording with a prominent, repeating bass line in yourintended listening position. Repeat this process with the 180setting and use the setting that yields the greatest amount ofbass output. If neither of these settings is better than the otherexperiment with intermediate settings. From this screen press thedown or up cursor key to access other control settings.

Save Settings: - This screen is used to store all of the abovecontrol settings in one of three memory presets (Music, Movieand Night). Use the Left/Right cursor keys to select the desiredpreset and press the Enter key to store your current control set-tings. Settings Saved! will be displayed. After the settings arestored in memory the display will return to the default Volumeadjustment screen. From this screen press the up or down cursorkey to access other control settings.

Disp Brightness - This screen is used to adjust the brightnesslevel of the display screen. Use the Left/Right cursor keys toselect from any one of 4 different brightness intensities. Fromthis screen press the down or up cursor key to access other control settings.

Power: - This screen is used to select the Auto On or theAlways On power mode for the Subwoofers amplifier. Use theLeft/Right cursor keys to select between these two modes. WhenAuto On is selected, the subwoofer will automatically turn onwhen it senses a signal. It will automatically turn off after 20 minutes if no signal is present and Standby will be displayed. Inthe Always On setting the subwoofer will remain on as long asthe main A/C power switch on the subwoofers rear panel is inthe ON position. From this screen press the down or up cursorkey to access other control settings.

Keypad Lock - This screen is used to lock the keypad andprevent your settings from being changed by other users. Aftermaking all desired adjustments press the Center key to lock thekeypad. Keypad Locked Hold and to unlock will be displayed. The display will then return to the default Volumescreen. To unlock the keypad press and hold the Left and Rightkeys until Keypad Unlocked is displayed. The display will againreturn to the default Volume screen. It is suggested that youwrite down all of your settings for future reference in case thekeypad is unlocked and your settings are changed by another user.

BACK PANEL FEATURESPOWER ON/OFF - This is the main A/C power switch for thesubwoofer. This switch must be in the ON position for the sub-woofer to operate and for the AUTO/ON feature to function. Setthis switch to the OFF position if the subwoofer will not be usedfor an extended period of time (i.e. vacation).

IR SENSOR - An infrared remote control sensor is included onthe rear panel of your subwoofer for integration with A/V remote control systems. The IR codes for this subwoofer can be obtainedby visiting www.klipsch.com. A dedicated hand held remote control does not exist for these models.

CARE AND CLEANING OF YOUR POWERED SUBWOOFERYour subwoofer has a durable vinyl finish that should only requiredry dusting or cleaning with a dry cloth. Avoid the use of abrasiveor solvent-based cleaners and harsh detergents. The brushattachment of your vacuum should remove any dust from yoursubwoofer enclosure.

WARRANTY U.S. AND CANADA ONLY The Warranty below is valid only for sales to consumers in the UnitedStates or Canada. KLIPSCH, L.L.C. RW-10d / RW-12d HIGH LEVEL IN (entre haut niveau) Ce raccordement peuttre utilis la place du raccordement de niveau ligne. laide de filde haut-parleur de calibre 16 ou plus gros, raccordez la borne positive (+) rouge du canal gauche de lamplificateur la borne positive (+) rouge du canal gauche de lentre HIGH LEVEL IN du caisson de graves. Raccordez la borne ngative (-) noire ducanal gauche de lamplificateur la borne ngative (-) noire ducanal gauche de lentre HIGH LEVEL IN du caisson de graves.Rptez cette procdure pour le raccordement du canal droit (voir lafigure 4). Vrifiez quaucune partie dnude de fil de raccordementne touche lune des autres bornes, car cela risque dendommagervotre matriel.

RGLAGESLaccs toutes les commandes du caisson de graves et la modification des rglages se fait par lafficheur et les touches directionnelles la partie suprieur du caisson. La seule exceptionest linterrupteur principal dalimentation, plac larrire du caisson de graves.

Utilisez les flches (haut) et (bas) pour parcourir la liste des rglages possibles.

Utilisez les flches (gauche) et (droite) pour ajuster un rglage donn.

Lorsque est affich, utilisez la touche centrale pour mmoriser et rappeler des rglages personnaliss ou pour verrouiller le clavier.

Aprs avoir effectu les divers rglages de Volume , EQ Mode , Lowpass filter et Phase , vous pouvez les enregistrer dans lune des trois mmoires utilisateur : Movie , Music et Night . Cela permet de les rappeler globalement afin doptimiser les performances du caisson de graves en fonctions des applications et contenus sonores.

Lorsque le niveau dhumidit est faible, il est possible quune dcharge dlectricit statique vers le caisson de graves se produise, provoquant une interruption momentane du son du caisson de graves ou un changement du contenu de lafficheur

cristaux liquides. Toute erreur dans le contenu de lafficheur est corrige lors du changement de mode daffichage.

Volume Les touches directionnelles gauche/droite permettentde rgler le volume du caisson de graves en fonction du niveau desortie des enceintes principales. Le rglage de volume du pram-plificateur ou de lamplificateur principal du systme dtermine levolume gnral du caisson de graves et de lensemble desenceintes. Pour diminuer le volume du caisson de graves, appuyezun certain temps (ou brivement) sur la flche gauche. Pour aug-menter le volume du caisson de graves jusquau niveau voulu,appuyez un certain temps (ou brivement) sur la flche droite. partir de cet cran, appuyez sur la flche descendante pour accderaux autres rglages.

Recall Settings: (rappel rglages) Cet cran permet de slectionner lune des trois mmoires de prrglage dfinies par lutilisateur, appeles Movie (film), Music (musique) et Night (nuit). Phase Cet cran permet de rgler la phase acoustique ducaisson de graves en fonction de celle des enceintes principales.Utilisez les flches gauche/droite pour rgler la phase du caisson degraves entre 0 et 180.Le bonne valeur de ce rglage dpend fortement de lacoustique dela pice et de la position occupe par le caisson de graves. Aprsavoir rgl le volume et le filtre passe-bas, rglez la phase 0 etcoutez de la position normale dcoute un enregistrement au con-tenu grave prdominant et rptitif. Recommencez avec le rglage 180 et utilisez la valeur produisant le niveau de graves le pluslev. Si aucun de ces rglage nest meilleur que lautre, essayezavec des valeurs intermdiaires. partir de cet cran, appuyez surla flche descendante ou montante pour accder aux autresrglages.

Keypad Lock (verrouillage clavier) Cet cran permet de ver-rouiller le clavier afin dinterdire la modification des rglages pardautres utilisateurs. REGLERAlle Regler und Einstellungen des Subwoofers sind ber das Cursor-Steuerfeld und die Anzeige oben am Subwoofer-Gehusezugnglich. Die einzige Ausnahme ist der Netzschalter, der sich ander Rckseite des Subwoofers befindet.

POSIZIONAMENTO DEL SUBWOOFER REFERENCE SERIESI subwoofer attivi Klipsch sono concepiti per la riproduzione dei bassiprofondi con un'intensit straordinaria che d nuova vita a film emusica. Solitamente, le prestazioni sono ottimizzate con un posizion-amento del subwoofer in un angolo della stanza, lungo la stessaparete dei diffusori per i canali anteriori (fare riferimento alle figure 1e 2). Notare che il posizionamento influenza notevolmente leprestazioni del subwoofer attivo. Come suggerito in precedenza, ilposizionamento in un angolo aumenta i bassi in uscita, mentre ilposizionamento al centro di una parete o al centro della stanza lidiminuisce. Si consiglia di provare varie configurazioni di posiziona-mento e di controllo per trovare quelle pi adatte alla propria stanzae ai propri gusti. Quando si sceglie la posizione del subwoofer, nondimenticare che necessario collegare l'amplificatore interno delsubwoofer a una presa di alimentazione c.a.

COLLEGAMENTI E CONTROLLIATTENZIONE: prima di effettuare qualsiasi collegamento, speg-nere l'amplificatore e il subwoofer. Non collegare entrambi gliingressi livello alto (High Level) e livello di linea (Line Level)contemporaneamente, in quanto ci potrebbe causare danniall'attrezzatura.

RW-10d / RW-12d / RSW-10dLINE IN - Questo l'ingresso standard predefinito per il subwoofer. Accetta segnali dai canali destro e sinistro del preamplifi-catore e dalle uscite subwoofer o LFE dei componenti elettronicitramite gli spinotti di ingresso RCA. Collegare agli ingresso destroRIGHT e/o sinistro LEFT/LFE sul pannello posteriore del subwoofer (vedere le figure 3 e 5).

RW-10d / RW-12dHIGH LEVEL IN - Questi collegamenti possono essere utilizzati inalternativa al collegamento di linea di livello. Utilizzando cavi audio dispessore minimo 16 AWG, collegare il terminale rosso positivo (+)del canale sinistro dell'amplificatore al terminale rosso positivo (+)del canale sinistro HIGH LEVEL IN del subwoofer. Collegare il ter-minale nero negativo (-) del canale sinistro dell'amplificatore al ter-minale nero negativo (-) del canale sinistro HIGH LEVEL IN delsubwoofer. Ripetere questa procedura per il collegamento del canaledestro (vedere la figura 4). Verificare che i cavi denudati in ciascuncollegamento non tocchino li altri terminali, in quanto questopotrebbe danneggiare l'attrezzatura.

CONTROLLIPer accedere a tutti i controllo del subwoofer e modificarne leimpostazioni, utilizzare i tasti e lo schermo presenti sul lato superioredella cassa del subwoofer. L'unica eccezione l'interruttore dell'ali-mentazione c.a. che si trova sul pannello posteriore del subwoofer.

Utilizzare il tasto (alto) o (basso) per scorrere l'elenco di opzioni di controllo.

Utilizzare i tasti (sinistra) o (destra) per regolare le impostazioni dell'opzione di controllo selezionata.

Usare il tasto centrale quando lo schermo visualizza per memorizzare e leggere impostazioni personalizzate o per bloccare la tastiera.

Dopo aver regolato i singoli parametri di controllo per Volume,modalit di equalizzazione EQ Mode, filtro passa basso Low-pass filter e fase Phase, le impostazioni possono essere memorizzate in una delle tre memorie utente disponibili, chiamateMovie (film), Music (musica) e Night (notte). In questo modo si possono caricare contemporaneamente tutte le impostazioni precedenti, personalizzando le prestazioni del subwoofer per compensare per i materiali e utilizzi diversi possibili.

Se non vengono effettuate modifiche per 30 secondi mentre sono visualizzati alte impostazioni, lo schermo torna alla visualizzazione del Volume.

Durante periodi di tempo in cui l'umidit nell'aria bassa, una scarica elettrostatica sul subwoofer potrebbe interrompere temporaneamente il segnale in uscita o causare cambiamenti al contenuto dello schermo LCD. Eventuali errori nel contenuto dello schermo vengono corretti dal cambio di modalit dello schermo stesso.

Volume - Usare i tasti destro e sinistro per regolare il volume delsubwoofer a un livello corrispondente all'uscita dei diffusori princi-pali. Il controllo del volume sull'amplificatore o il preamplificatoreprincipale del sistema controller il volume del subwoofer e dei dif-fusori full range. Premere e mantenere premuto (oppure premere erilasciare) il tasto sinistro per ridurre il volume del subwoofer.Premere e mantenere premuto (oppure premere e rilasciare) il tastodestro per aumentare il volume del subwoofer fino al livello desider-ato. Da questa schermata premere il tasto in basso per accederealle altre impostazioni di controllo.

Recall Settings (carica impostazioni) - Questa schermata vieneutilizzata per selezionare una delle tre memorie contenentiimpostazioni definibili dall'utente, chiamate Movie (film), Music(musica) e Night (notte). Utilizzare i tasti destro e sinistro perselezionare il gruppo di impostazioni memorizzate desiderato e pre-mere il tasto centrale per caricare tali impostazioni. Viene visualizza-to il messaggio Settings Recalled! che indica che le impostazionisono state caricate. L'uso di una delle due impostazioni di equalizzazionecausa una leggera riduzione delle capacit di uscita massime delsubwoofer, in quanto necessaria una maggiore potenza dall'ampli-ficatore del subwoofer. Utilizzare i tasti destro e sinistro perselezionare le impostazioni di equalizzazione desiderata. Lowpass (passa basso) - Questa schermata viene utilizzata perregolare la frequenza superiore del subwoofer per miscelare il suonocorrettamente con i diffusori principali del sistema. Una frequenza(Hz) maggiore viene utilizzata di solito con diffusori pi piccoli conuscite dei bassi limitate, mentre un'impostazione della frequenza pibassa viene spesso usata con modelli da pavimento di dimensionimaggiori. Questo filtro pu essere regolato tra 40Hz e 120Hz, senecessario, oppure pu essere disabilitato se la funziona di filtropassa basso viene eseguita dai componenti elettronici del sistema.Utilizzare i tasti destro e sinistro per regolare il filtro passa basso.Per escludere questo filtro premente e mantenere premuto il tasto

destro fino a quando viene visualizzato il messaggio Lowpass OFFLFE Mode (passa basso Off modalit LFE). Phase (Fase) - Questa schermata viene utilizzata per regolare lafase acustica del subwoofer per farla corrispondere a quella dei dif-fusori principali. Utilizzare i tasti destro e sinistro per regolare la fasedel subwoofer tra 0 e 180. L'impostazione corretta per questoparametro dipende molto dall'acustica della stanza e dalla posizionedel subwoofer nella stanza. Dopo aver impostato i controlli del volume e del filtro passa basso, selezionare il valore 0 per la fase e riprodurre della musica che abbia bassi evidenti e ripetuti,ponendosi nella posizione di ascolto. Ripetere questa procedura per le impostazioni a 180 e utilizzare i valori che permettono dimassimizzare l'uscita dei bassi. Se nessuna delle due impostazioni migliore dell'altra, si consiglia di provare impostazioni intermedie.Da questa schermata premere il tasto in basso o in alto peraccedere alle altre impostazioni di controllo.

Da questa schermata premere iltasto in basso o in alto per accedere alle altre impostazioni di controllo.

Keypad Lock (Blocco tastierino) - Questa schermata viene usataper bloccare il tastierino ed evitare che le impostazioni venganomodificate da altri utenti. Dopo aver completato tutte le regolazionidesiderate, premere il tasto centrale per bloccare il tastierino. Vienevisualizzato Keypad Locked Hold and to unlock (tastierinobloccato, premere i tasti e per sbloccare). Lo schermo torna

POSICIONAMENTO DO SUBWOOFER DA SRIE REFERENCEOs subwoofers amplificados da Klipsch so projetados para repro-duzir graves profundos e produzir o impacto que faz com que osfilmes e msicas ganhem vida. Normalmente, pode-se obter odesempenho ideal se o subwoofer for colocado em um canto doambiente, na mesma parede que as caixas acsticas do canalfrontal (veja as figuras 1 e 2). Observe que o posicionamento noambiente pode ter um efeito profundo sobre o desempenho do sub-woofer amplificado. RW-10d / RW-12d / RSW-10dLINE IN Esta a entrada padro do subwoofer. Aceita sinaisdas sadas do pr-amplificador dos canais esquerdo e direito,subwoofer ou LFE dos equipamentos eletrnicos atravs de tomadas de entrada RCA. Conecte nas entradas "R" (Direita) e/ou"L" (Esquerda)/"LFE" do painel traseiro do subwoofer (veja as figuras 3 e 5).

RW-10d / RW-12dHIGH LEVEL IN Estas conexes podem ser usadas como ummtodo de conexo alternativo conexo de nvel de linha. Usandoum cabo para caixa acstica bitola 16 AWG ou maior, conecte o ter-minal positivo (+) vermelho do canal esquerdo do amplificador aoterminal positivo (+) vermelho do canal esquerdo "HIGH LEVEL IN"do subwoofer. Conecte o terminal negativo (-) preto do canalesquerdo do amplificador ao terminal negativo (-) preto do canalesquerdo "HIGH LEVEL IN" do subwoofer. Repita este procedimentopara as conexes do canal direito (veja a figura 4). Certifique-se deque nenhum fio exposto de qualquer uma das conexes toque emqualquer um dos demais terminais, pois isto poder danificar oequipamento.

CONTROLESTodos os controles do subwoofer, e todas as mudanas nos ajustesdos controles, so acessados por meio do teclado e do display situ-ados no topo da caixa do subwoofer. A nica exceo a chaveliga/desliga principal, situada no painel traseiro do subwoofer.

Use a tecla (PARA CIMA) ou (PARA BAIXO) para acessar a lista de opes de controle.

Use a tecla (Esquerda) ou (Direita) para alterar o ajuste de cada controle.

Use a tecla central quando o smbolo aparecer no display para armazenar e acessar ajustes personalizados ou para bloquear o teclado.

Aps ajustar os parmetros de controle de Volume, EQ Mode(Modo de equalizao), Low-pass filter (Filtro passa-baixa) e Phase (Fase), os ajustes podem ser armazenados em uma das trs memrias disponveis ao usurio [Movie (Filme),Music (Msica) e Night (Noite)]. Isto permite que todos os ajustes descritos acima sejam ativados para ajustar o desempenho do subwoofer para compensar a divergncia em materiais de origem e usos.

Caso nenhum ajuste seja feito durante o acesso a qualquer outro controle ou modo de exibio, o display voltar a exibir a tela Volume depois de 30 segundos.

Em perodos de baixa umidade, possvel que descargas de eletricidade esttica ao subwoofer causem uma interrupo momentnea no sinal de sada do subwoofer ou altere as informaes exibidas no display de cristal lquido. Qualquer erro exibido ser corrigido quando o modo de exibio for mudado na tela.

Volume - Use as teclas de cursor "esquerda/direita" para ajustaro nvel de volume do subwoofer para corresponder reproduodas caixas acsticas principais. O controle do volume no amplifi-cador principal do sistema ou do pr-amplificador ser o controle devolume geral do subwoofer e das caixas acsticas. Pressione emantenha pressionada (ou pressione e solte) a tecla de cursor"esquerda" para diminuir o volume do subwoofer. O filtropode ser ajustado de 40 Hz a 120 Hz, conforme necessrio, ouignorado se a funo do filtro passa-baixa estiver sendo executadapelos componentes eletrnicos do sistema de som. Use as teclas decursor "esquerda/direita" para ajustar o filtro passa-baixa. Paraignorar este filtro, pressione e mantenha pressionada a tecla de cur-sor "direita" at que a mensagem "Lowpass OFF LFE Mode" sejaexibida.
