Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture For Kids & Adolescents (7-18yrs)

In June 2017, Monika Kobylecka, esteemed Acupunc-turist and teaching assistant of Master Acupuncturist Kiiko Matsumoto, returns to Australia to conduct fur-ther trainings in Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture.

This seminar, Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture For Kids & Adolescents (7-18 yrs), covers how to utilise Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture treatments, theo-ries and techniques in treating this important patient demographic. This seminar is a great way to expand the scope of your practice of Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KMS) Acupuncture. Those with prior studies in KMS are welcomed to attend. Those without prior studies in KMS, wishing to commence studying this style of acupuncture this year, are recommended to attend the Foundations in Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture course, being held in Brisbane on 16th-19th June, 2017.

Monika’s seminars fulfill the continuing goal of raising the level of proficiency in the practice of Kiiko Mat-sumoto Style Acupuncture within Australia and New Zealand.

Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture has been continu-ing to evolve over the years as Kiiko Matsumoto re-fines and develops the treatment strategies that she has integrated as a result of her study with important Japa-nese acupuncture Masters, including Master Nagano, Master Kawai and Dr. Manaka. Monika Kobylecka is a licensed acupuncturist practicing Kiiko Mat-sumoto Style (KMS) acupuncture at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

Monika completed her Master of Science degree at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where she was first introduced to Japanese acupuncture. What shaped her current practice was meeting re-nowned Japanese practitioner Kiiko Matsumoto in 2004 and learn-ing this master’s unique style. It was during one of the first classes Monika attended with Ms. Matusmoto that she discovered how acu-puncture can be practical, effective and interactive - something that a patient doesn't have to believe is working; they can feel it working right during the treatment.

For the last 12 years, Monika has continued to work closely with Ms. Matsumoto – observing her in her clinic in Boston, assisting her in her seminars and collaborating on Ms. Matsumoto’s latest book. Monika also teaches introductory, hands-on classes in KMS acupuncture in the United States and around the world.

Back home in Los Angeles, Monika’s private practice is based at CHLA where she holds privileges. She sees pediatric patients in an integrative setting of the Pediatric Pain Clinic; supervises students for the CHLA-YSU Pediatric Acupuncture Program; is involved in ongoing research on the effects of acupuncture; and runs the CHLA Employee Acupuncture Clinic which provides acupuncture to physi-cians, nurses and hospital staff.

Her passion for acupuncture, facilitated by Kiiko Matsumoto Style, translates into an ongoing effort to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western medicine in a practical and patient-focused manner.

This seminar is a unique offering from Monika Kobylecka, whom has extensive experi-ence in effectively utilising Master Acupuncturist Kiiko Matsumoto’s style of Acupuncture in the “Pediatric Pain Clinic” within the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. These years

of paediatric acupuncture experience have been distilled into this seminar, allowing KMS practitioners to expand their scope of practice to treat the 7-18yrs age group.

In this Seminar, Monika will be comprehensively covering how to utilise Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture when treating the 7-18 yrs age group. This age group is a focus, as it is considered the “in-between zone” of the patient demo-graphic. Shonishin treatment is considered the Japanese Acupunctre Paediatric treatment of choice for newborns to 7 yrs, and for 18 yrs and up, we are utilising the standard applications of Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture. However, the 7-18 yrs age group requires a different and/or modified approach in diagnosis and treatment. This age group is also predisposed to a number of health conditions. Monika will cover unique diagnostic and treatment approaches for this age group, and expand on the major diagnostic and treatment approaches required in the most common paediatric conditions, so that you will be able to confidently ustilise these treatments the next day in clinic for outstanding results.

Seminar Details

This one-day seminar is designed to build further upon practitioners’/students’ skills in Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture, through lectures and demonstrations. As attendees will have considerable experience in Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture already, and due to practicalities, 100% of this seminar will consist of lectures and direct observation of Monika treating external patients in the 7-18 yrs age bracket, that must be booked in by attendees (booking schedule access will be given to registered attendees, so that they may book patients). Thorough explanation of the processes and concepts of treatments will be given during demonstrations. A Q+ A segment will also feature.
