A HUGE Thank you! On behalf of the staff I would like to thank you for supporting our professional learning day on Monday 11 th February. As we develop our understanding and practice around how Restorative Practice looks at Kamo Primary, we will share this with you so you can support your child at home with anything that arises from school. Restorative Practice has four underlying principles: Positive interpersonal relationships are a major influence on behaviour. A culture of care supports the mana of all individuals in the school community. Cultural responsiveness is key to creating learning communities of mutual respect and inclusion. A restorative approach leads to individuals taking responsibility for their behaviour We have just begun our connection with Restorative Practice and look forward to sharing in the future. We have just begun our connection with Restorative Practice and look forward to sharing in the future.

A few students from last year in Room 7 entered a competition “AHOY Waitangi’ and secured third prize. The Navy team was outstanding with our students and who knows, it may have inspired some potential pilots!

Help wanted - We have keen gardners at KPS. If you would like to help in the vegetable garden or have knowledge about fruit trees, (pruning, keeping them healthy or preserving produce) we would love to have your help. Please contact Mrs Norman in Room 7.
Does anyone have any unwanted wooden picnic tables and chairs in good condition. We would like these for the Pono Team.
Home and School “Flick on the Field” Please feel free to purchase tickets at school for our movie night, featuring the great entertaining movie “Sing.” The cost is $5.00 per person with children under 5 being free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be pre- purchased at the school office from tomorrow on. Coupons will be sold on the night, which will allow you to buy food, drinks and other such delights. Bring a blanket, a picnic basket and/or enjoy the treats the teachers are cooking up. But we stress, no takeaways on site please. The reason is to fundraise for our playground and for you to meet children and whanau that your child spends their weeks at school with. We are getting close to adding on to our playground! We truly thank you for your support!
Clothing The heat certainly is testing many and for some of our students we need your support to encourage them to wear layers to help them regulate their body temperature, rather than long pants and long sleeved tops which make our students over heat. If you could check clothing in the morning and encourage your child to take layers off when they feel the heat, that would be great. Thank you!
We thank you for your head, heart and hands, as they help build this great school!! Sally Wilson – Principal
