    The serial number is located on the outside o the hull in the back

    right-hand corner. The number starts with ZEP and is twelve (12)

    MATERIALS/MANufACTuRINg

    Your kayak is made o Ram-X. Its great exibility oers except

    shock resistance. This exibility increases with heat or with the

    prolonged exposure to the sun but may also slightly warp the h

    warping disappears when the hull cools and never aects the c

    perormance.

    Ram-X is a superior material that was developed and registere

    in 1978. It quickly became the benchmark o quality in the indu

    thanks to its shock resistance and ability to regain its initial sha

    ollowing an impact. Widely hailed by consumers, Ram-X is a

    above other materials used in the industry.

    gETTINg STARTEd

    Please read all the instructions in this owners manual. Keep this

    manual in a sae place or uture reerence i necessary. The manual

    consists o:

    1- Important inormation

    There is a space provided at the beginning o the manual to record importantinormation about your kayak (page 3). This inormation will come inhandy i you need to contact our customer service department.

    2- Warranty reistration car

    As outlined in the warranty section (page 9), you can register yourwarranty online at our website (www.pelicansport.com) or by mailby flling out and returning the registration card. You can fnd theregistration card in the center o this manual. (page 13).

    3- Manactrers declaration o Oriin

    Certain governments require a Manuacturers Declaration o Origin to completethe registration. The declaration is located in the center o this manual (page 12).

    TRANSPORTATION

    The carrying handles at both ends help in the transportation o the

    kayak by hand. These handles should not be used to asten the kayak

    onto a vehicule.

    Make sure the kayak is frmly tied down, whether on

    a vehicle or trailer.

    Beore setting out, make sure all accessories have been removed

    and packed into the vehicle to avoid damaging or losing them.

    PRE-LAuNCH CHECKLIST

    Make sure all those aboard are wearing

    approved liejackets.

    Make sure you have basic emergency equipment on board

    (warning horn, frst aid kit, whistle, etc.).

    LAuNCHINg PROCEduRE

    Make sure that all the material used to asten the kayak dur

    transportation is removed.

    Set your oot in the centre o the kayak when boarding to e

    it remains stable.

    MOORINg/dOCKINg

    Always moor the kayak away rom rocks and sharp objects.

    Always moor in sufciently deep water to avoid damaging t

    Never moor the kayak against a dock that is not equipped w

    hull-protecting bumpers.

    SAfETY PRECAuTIONS

    WARNINg

    We suggest that you read the information below before using the

    boat. Failure to follow the warnings / precautions below may lead

    to serious injury or death. Paddle sports such as kayaking can bedangerous and physically demanding. Participating in paddle sports

    may put you at risk of serious injury or death. You should receive

    qualied instructions to learn proper paddling techniques, water

    safety, and rst aid before going boating.

    1-Weather an water conitions

    Check the weather and water conditions beore you go boating. Your boat is

    designed to be used only in sheltered waters, lakes, and slow moving streams.It is not designed or whitewater use. Never go paddling in severe winds,rain, thunderstorms, choppy waters, strong currents, ood waters, or wheretides will seriously aect your ability to steer the boat or return to shore.

    2-Every passener shol always wear a Coast gar approve

    Personal flotation device (Pfd) when sin this oat.

    Beore going paddling, read the PFD manuacturers inormation pamphlet regardingthe PFD and thoroughly amiliarize yoursel with how the PFD is to be worn.

    3-Never se or consme alcohol, rs, or any other sstance

    that may aect yor coorination, jment or aility to saely

    operate the oat.

    4-Son evice

    The Coast Guard requires boaters to have a means o signaling other boaterso their presence. You should keep a sound device in the boat with you at alltimes. I possible, attach the sound device to your Personal Flotation Device.

    5-Never stan p in the oat

    Standing up in the boat may cause it to capsize. I the boat shouldcapsize, please note that, in most cases, it is ar more dangerousto attempt to swim to shore than to stay with the boat.

    6-Never ecee yor aility

    Honestly assess your physical capability as to how arand how long you can paddle and swim.

    7-Slippery when wet

    The hull material is extremely slick when wet. Always wear slip-resistant shoes and stay in the center o the boat.

    8-Hypothermia

    Boating accidents in cold water are very dangerous. Hypothermia, theloss o body heat due to immersion in cold water, can be deadly. Survivaltime can be as short as 15 minutes in 35F (2C) water. Dressappropriately

    or weather conditions, wearing a wet or dry suit i necessary.

    9-Never pale alone

    It is best to have someone with you in case o an emergency or accident.Also, always tell someone your boating plans, including where you aregoing, how long youll be gone, and how many people youll be with.

    Learn what hours boating is permitted, whether there are any known hazardousconditions and where you can get help quickly in case o emergency or accident.

    Check with the Coast Guard and State and local authorities concerningproper boat handling and the proper equipment to be carriedon board, such as lights and sound-producing devices.

    13-drain pls

    Check that the drain plug o the kayak (on certain models only) is securely inplace beore launching the kayak. You should drain the space between the deck

    and the hull o any water accumulated due to condensation or seepage.

    CARE ANd MAINTENANCE

    The best way to clean your kayak is to wash it with lukewarm w

    and mild soap. Do not use harsh abrasives. Regular cleaning wil

    your kayak looking like new. Never attempt to paint the kayak b

    it will not stick to the hull. Do not remove oam blocks inside m

    Pelican kayaks as they are or extra ottation.

    STORAgE

    The best way to store your kayak is to simply set it on a at

    ExTENdEd LIMITEd WARRANTY

    Your kayak is built o superior materials and in accordance to stringent

    quality standards. With adequate maintenance, it will give you years

    o reliable use. But as with most such products, it is subject to wear

    and tear. I you eventually need replacement parts, technical assistance

    or product / service inormation, please contact our Cstomer Service

    department (1-888-669-6960), having ready at hand the products

    model name and serial number ZEP, as well as the date and place o

    purchase.

    The present warranty is only valid i the original buyer registered the

    warranty within the thirty (30) day period immediately ollowing the

    date o purchase. Registration can be done either electronically via our

    website (www.pelicansport.com), or by completing and returning the

    accompanying registration card (page 13).

    Pelican International Inc.s warranty is vali only i the proct is

    se or its intene prposes an or which it was esine.

    Product component parts and accessories are warranted or a period o

    one (1) year rom the date o purchase against deects in workmanship

    and / or materials.

    The hull and deck are warranted or a period o

    one (1) year rom the date o purchase against

    deects in workmanship and / or materials

    and suitable or its intended purpose. Only by

    returning your warranty and registration card on

    time you will extend your hull and deck warrantyto two (2) years.

    This warranty oes not cover:

    a) boats used or rental or other commercial use

    b) products that have been damaged by negligence, misuse or

    accident, or wear due to owners ailure to provide reasonable a

    necessary maintenance

    c) products which have been modifed or repaired by unauthori

    persons

    d) change in appearance o boat due to wear, exposure or any o

    environmental condition

    During the warranty period Pelican International Inc. is obliged only to

    repair or replace, at its discretion, the above mentioned parts, at either

    its manuacturing plant, or at an authorized dealer store or service

    center, as decided by Pelican International Inc.

    Transportation costs back to the appointed place o repair or

    replacement are at the expense o the consumer. Pelican is notresponsible or any damages incurred in transport, or storing or

    transportation ees, nor or inconvenience or loss o time or money

    while repairs are being made.

    Any return or repair o boats must be accompanied by an ATHORIZATION

    NMBER obtained by your dealer and which can only be issued by

    calling Pelicans Customer Service Department between 9 am and 5 pm

    Eastern Standard Time at 1-800-463-6960. The retrn o any Pelican

    oat will not e accepte y Pelican International Inc. withot thisathorization nmer.

    This warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty by Pelican

    International Inc. in connection with its above mentioned boats

    Pelican International Inc. makes no warranties or representation

    expressed or implied (including warranties o merchantability a

    ftness or a particular purpose) in such connection except as spe

    set in this warranty.All incidental and / or consequential damages are excluded rom

    warranty. Implied warranties are limited to the lie o this warra
