DecorativeKAVA embodies design and elegance.The clear lines of the decorative lumi-naire diffusers blend effortlessly intoany interior design scheme. Four diffe-rent decorative diffusers made ofmatt-sanded glass in a special steelframe are available as designele-ments.

The new KAVA LEDs will bring colourto your walls, creating an exceptionallighting atmosphere in foyers, corri-dors and passageways. But even whenused for the illumination of steps andstaircases or as access lighting, theminiaturised KAVA LEDs are attractiveeye-catchers.

EfficientUsing compact fluorescent lamps orhigh-performance 35 W metal halidelamps as well as operation with a h.f. electronic ballast ensure optimum economic efficiency.The LMB versions of the luminaires fitted with TC lamps are dimmable and prepared for connection to theLUXMATE lighting managementsystem. Thus, you can set the lightingstage and, at the same time, save energy.KAVA LED is the smallest model in theKAVA range. Fitted with innovative LEDtechnology, it allows lighting effects ina variety of colours, requiring only 1.2 W per luminaire.

KAVA recessed wall luminaires demar-cate and trace routes and accentuatevertical or horizontal surfaces. Wheninstalled in rows on the ceiling or nearthe floor, they can have a stronglydirective function.

A system that speaks a clear design language

»KAVA is like a small window that offers a view into the

outside world. KAVA breaks up strictly geometric ver-

tical surfaces and creates refreshing lighting effects

on floors and ceilings.«

KAVA allows lighting of a room from thewall or from the ceiling, thus adding fas-cination and excitement to architecturalfeatures.KAVA is available in three basic models ofdifferent sizes which can be fitted withdifferent lamps. Parabolic or flat mirrorreflectors ensure asymmetrical light dis-tribution. Glass diffusers are available as

accessories to satisfy safety aspects inbuildings used by the public.Decorative add-on elements offer anincentive for creative variation and pickup the same elegant understatement asthe luminaires. For the square shapethere are four different diffusers made ofmatt-sanded silicate glass in framesmade of special steel.

Installation in cavity walls is straightfor-ward thanks to the use of spring clips.For installation in solid walls, specialrecessed wall housings – also in an IP 44version – are available as accessories.

Combinations and application areas

Basic modelCombining a basic housing with a mir-ror reflector is ideal if there is nourgent need for lamp protection, pro-tection against dust and increasedsafety. This is an economical solutionbecause the full luminous flux can beexploited without any loss, e.g. due toincreased temperature.

SafetyA basic housing plus a mirror reflectorand a glass diffuser is the recommen-ded combination for extra protectionagainst contamination or damage.Note: for mechanical reasons, the useof glass diffusers is not permissible ifthe luminaire is recessed into the cei-ling.

EleganceElegant and decorative versions areobtained by combining a basic hou-sing and a decorative diffuser. Fourdifferent diffusers are available. Inaddition, this combination can alsobe used for background lighting ofpictographs, e.g. room numbers ondifferent floors in a hotel.

System philosophy

Basic/complete modelBasic housings as well as the HITcomplete model are suitable for reces-sing into cavity walls or, using therecessed wall housing, in solid walls.Material: white stove-enamelled sheetsteel.The lamp is operated using a h.f. elec-tronic ballast.

Luminaire diffuser/mirror reflectorThe mirror reflector has a flat or para-bolic reflector surface for asymmetri-cal light distribution and is made ofmatt anodised pure aluminium. It isbordered by a 13-mm surround. No-tool installation. The mirror reflectorcan be supplemented by a matt-san-ded glass lamp guard (in KAVA HITthis is supplied as standard) whichmakes it impossible to see the lamp.

Luminaire optic/glass diffuserThe transparent safety glass in a framemade of special steel meets the safetyrequirements in public buildings. Inaddition, it protects the inside of theluminaire against possible contaminati-on. No-tool installation by means ofspring-clip mechanisms.

The core of the KAVA LED is the LEDboard with its inconspicuous, luminouselectronic semiconductor components.When brought to life, they produce light.

Even though the small LEDs may beinconspicuous, they will surprise youall the more with their light – in blue,red, green, yellow or white. And sincethey are so small, it is possible tobuild luminaires that are as strikinglysmall, yet powerful as the KAVA LEDs.In the future, it will be exactly thoseluminaires that will set striking ac-cents when it comes to decorativelighting.

With their innovative, UV-free light andextremely small dimensions, they mayeven be installed in highly sensitiveareas such as museum showcases.
