Lighting control module

The lighting control system
is based on the principle of a
jigsaw puzzle: various com-
ponents are added to a basic
module according to require-
ments. The basic unit already
features a series of practical
functions such as dimming, a
central ON/OFF function and a
lighting scene.
According to needs, various
components can be connected
to this central module for
extending functionality.
Whether convenient control
units such as the CIRCLE con-
trol point, presence detectors
or a light sensor for daylight-
based control of lighting, all
have one thing in common: just
connect them up and you’re
finished.

Exemplary in terms of convenience and energy efficiency:
the advertising agency shown here controls luminaires throughout its building using
DIMLITE. Sensors for daylight and presence detection take over much
of the work for the 15 employ-ees. Luminaires are dimmed
in due proportion around the clock, and luminaires
that are rarely needed or frequently over-
looked switch on and off
automati-cally.

Plug&PlayQuickly implementing an energy-efficient convenience office
The basic unit is the same for
all design variations. Extension
components such as pres-
ence detectors, light sensors or
scene modules are then ordered
separately.
The only tool the electrician
needs for installing a DIMLITE
lighting control unit is a screw-
driver. First of all, the basic
unit is installed in the switch
cabinet . . .

. . . and then the luminaires
are connected. Conventional
NYM material can be used for
cabling. The outlets are protect-
ed against polarity reversal with
digital control via DALI or DSI.
Appropriate sensors and control
units can now be connected at
the control-in of the DIMLITE
basic module. A supplementary
device within the switch cabinet
is not necessary, . . .
. . . only a press of the
DIMLITE basic module’s test
button. The green LED flashes
briefly to show that the system
is ready for operation. That’s
"plug & play" in the true sense
of the word.
The system is now ready for
use. According to requirements,
the lighting scenes can be
modified or adapted according
to daylight characteristics.
Convenient and energy-efficient.
The perfect lighting solution.
Extension made to measurePlug & play components for individual solutions
Light sensorThe sensor monitors incident daylight and uses these data to perfectly sup-plement daylight with artificial light.
Presence detectorDIMLITE communicates with all standard presence detectors.
Scene / group moduleThis input module manages four light-ing scenes that can be called up via simple keys. The device also func-tions as a group module for the dim-ming of individual groups.
CIRCLE control pointWith three scene keys and two rocker dim switches, the innovative control point takes on all of the elementary functions of a sophisticated control panel, replacing several controllers and momentary-action switches in the room.
Standard momentary-action switchStandard momentary-action switches can be used within DIMLITE systems – for dimming, for ON/OFF switching or for calling up lighting scenes.
Remote control unitSimple, convenient and always ready to hand: the ergonomic IR-Touch infrared remote control unit has fewer keys than a mobile phone, and allows all lighting components to be control-led independent of location.
Integrated within a DIMLITE
lighting control system, the
many little helpers prove to be
exceedingly useful. The lighting
solution benefits both in terms
of convenience and efficiency.
Predefined lighting scenes can
be called up at random. All
required luminaires are contin-
uously dimmed without flicker
and can be switched on and
off from a central location.
Automatic integration of avail-
able daylight significantly
reduces energy consumption
and at the same time ensures
pleasant lighting conditions.
Presence detectors and multi-
functional sensors offer addi-
tional scope for saving while
making operation even more
convenient.
Ergonomic and convenient Glare-free, reflection-free light for
computer work was precisely set dur-ing installation and can now be called
up at random. Lighting scenes have also been set for informative chats with colleagues or for the examina-
tion of printed media.
Multi-functional sensor2 in 1. The sensor uses highly sensi-tive infrared technology to reliably monitor the presence of people. At the same time the sensor receives signals from the infrared remote con-trol unit. A basic version is available without presence detector.

Single, group or whole-class teaching? DIMLITE keeps typical lighting scenes for teaching ready at the press of a button. For this purpose, the lumi-naires were divided into four groups. Each group is dimmable via DALI. Daylight-based control and presence detectors dim and automatically switch off the light as soon as it is no longer required.
Teamwork or computer work? Task luminaires were divided into two groups to achieve a higher level of individuality and to focus the light. The three most frequently used lighting scenes can be called up by both the CIRCLE control points and the infrared remote control unit. Daylight-based control of artifi-cial lighting automatically saves energy.

Large bays with fluctuating numbers of employees? Luminaires are combined into two groups (or more where required) according to the various produc-tion areas of the hall. Only one momentary-action switch is therefore needed for switching or dim-ming all luminaires within one group. Two presence detectors ensure that the presence of workers is correctly monitored. DIMLITE operates at zero load, meaning that switched-off luminaires are separated from the mains supply and do not need power for standby.
Parts list
1 x DIMLITE 2-channel
2 x standard double momentary-action switches
2 x standard presence detectors
No need to hunt for a switch to switch on, and no more forgetting to switch off! DIMLITE guides employees and customers conveniently along cor-ridors and up and down stairwells by controlling luminaires zone for zone according to needs, thus saving energy. In the times between, DIMLITE reduces energy consumption by reducing main-tained light, without compromising people’s feeling of safety.
