Many women had a tie in the front of the shirt showing their stomach Women usually wore high calf muscles boots or high heels. Accessories became popular. Typically mood rings, peace earrings, neck ties,head bans and beaded necklaces. Womens hair was typically worn down with a braid on the side or afros. Mens Fashion Men wore their hair shoulder length. They usually wore bellbottoms with colorful patches. Platform shoes became extremely popular for men. Leisure suits wore worn typically everyday for men. Button down shirts were also popular. Sports Once President Nixon established peace between the U.S and China, the Ping Pong team was established. Many athletes flourished during the 1970s. Hank Aaron topped Babe Ruths record. Martina Navrotilova went pro in tennis. She became famous, and won 43 to 37 with her rivalry Chris Evert. Communication Many people communicated in the form of protests. The telephone was used, but the radio was the main source of communication. The floppy disc was invented by Alan Shugart.
