What’s Happening With Ms. Nein’s Crew? ELA *Making Connections: The students will continue to make text-to-text connections as we read a new story called Animal Tracks . We will also make text-to-self connections about times we experienced nature. Classifying and Categorizing: The students will be identifying the relationship between words and then place them accordingly into categories with a heading. Our Science/Social Studies Life Cycles: This week we will conclude our focus on butterflies and switch to the frog. How is the life cycle of the frog similar to the butterfly life cycle? What are the differences? The students will be able to describe in detail the transformation that happens from the egg to the adult frog. Our assessment is on October 10 th ! We will focus on words to begin our questions such as who, why, where, when and what. Informational Writing: We will begin our first graded Math We will begin part 2 of our math unit this week, which focuses on missing addends, doubles facts and multi-step problem solving. Reminders *All homework logs are due on Mondays. Each student must complete 2 math and 2 ELA assignments of their choosing. I have examples on my website. *Reading Logs: When your child completes 50 minutes of reading please initial the treasure chests and return the paper to school. I will then give your child a green coin for the incentive chart.
