ORDER OF WORSHIP
Welcome and Announcements
Prelude Variations on Holy, Holy, Holy • Post
Call to Worship
From the rising of the sun to its setting God’s name will be great among the nations,
and in every place incense will be offered to God’s name, and a pure offering.
For God’s name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.
We come before God.
We desire to worship with our whole heart.
We gather to praise. We gather to sing.
A Moment of Silence for All
Hymn • We Are One in the Spirit
Call to Confession
Our God is a God of justice, waiting to be gracious to you, yearning to have mercy on you.
Blessed are all who wait for the Lord.
In faith, let us make our confession to God.
Prayer of Confession
Lord, you call us to live and to love others as we love ourselves.
You call us to love you and our neighbor with everything we have.
In all honesty, we prove to be inconsistent, even unwilling,
as we are stingy at times with grace, forgiveness, mercy and understanding.
Still, you have chosen to make your home within us.
You have chosen love at all costs, and through Jesus offer everyone new beginnings.
Lord, we want to come clean, begin anew, start fresh. God, forgive us.
Although we often wrestle with our past, remind us today that in Christ Jesus,
the old has gone away and the new has come.
Meet with us here in this place Holy Spirit,
have your way among us,
but most of all, do not leave us the way you find us. Amen
Silent Confession
Assurance of Pardon
Friends, this is a true statement and fully reliable. At just the right time, while we were still
trapped in our sin and brokenness – Jesus Christ died for us and also rose again from the dead.
He did this not to condemn the world, but to save the World.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Sermon
“Lose Your Heart” • The Rev. Dr. W. Darren Bess
Affirmation of Faith • Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand
of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come
to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church;
the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Virtual VBS Due to the recent situation with the COVID-19, WPPC has come to the decision that hosting Vacation Bible School this year was too much of a risk for the children as well as for our volunteers. Therefore, this year, like so many other churches in the area, we will be taking our VBS into the virtual world. During the week of June 29th-July 3rd we will send you an e-mail, bright and early in the morning. Each email will have several videos attached to it featuring a Bible Story, crafts, science projects, games, and more that you can choose to play throughout the day. There will also be various handouts sent to you that can easily be printed out and used with the children. The week prior to our Virtual VBS we will host a Supply Bag Pick-up! Inside this bag we will include all the items that you will need to complete our Arts and Crafts projects at home. Because of this, even if you previously signed up for VBS, we kindly ask that you register again at https://form.jotform.com/200505391150139 so that we can know how many bags to prepare ahead of time. We hope that you will register to hang out online with us June 29th-July 3rd for our first ever Virtual VBS.
Nominations The Nominating Committee requests nominations for the upcoming class of Deacons and Elders. You can submit your nominations online at www.winppc.org/officer-nomination/. Interested in serving on the Nominating Committee? We have one “at-large” position open. If you would like to step forward to help us in this very important mission, please let Lisa Dreasher know at [email protected].
Construction Alert WPPC will begin a significant project to improve and repair various areas and facilities beginning June 1st. The work is scheduled for completion by August 1st. The entire roof in the preschool area will be replaced, and repairs will be made to the upper exterior walls of the Sanctuary. The Tower roof will also be repaired. Significant grading will occur throughout the east campus to restore drainage to the Preschool play area and the courtyards. These areas should be avoided and entered only with extreme caution while the work is in progress. The property committee thanks you for your cooperation and looks forward to these improvements.
