Vigness Promoted at Anne Carlsen Center The Anne Carlsen Center (ACC) has announced that Jody Vigness has been named the Senior Director of its Community Based Ser-vices.

The Grand Forks woman succeeds Marcia Gums, the COO of Commu-nity Based Servic-es, who is retir-ing in June. The leadership transi-tion begins this

month, with Gums providing guidance as Vigness adjusts to her new role and responsibili-ties.

Vigness has been the direc-tor of ACC Community Based Services in the Grand Forks area since 2012. “Jody’s vast experience and tireless dedi-cation have made her ex-tremely effective as a leader,” says Eric Monson, the Anne Carlsen Center CEO. “She is

exceptionally creative and in-novative in meeting the needs of the individuals we serve, while respecting at all times the dignity and independence of each person.”

As Senior Director, Vigness will provide support to the direc-tors of the Anne Carlsen Cen-ter’s In-Home Support, Day Support and Early Intervention services across the state. She will also oversee Taylor Made Living, an innovative home environment for adults with disabilities which is scheduled to open in Fargo in early 2016.

While guiding and assisting the program directors, Vigness will help ensure that ACC Commu-nity Based Services personnel are highly motivated, educated and effectively functioning as a team. “Jody is extremely effective at developing rela-tionships, both internal and external,” says Monson. “She is one of the best relationship developers I’ve ever seen.”

Vigness has 35 years of ex-perience, working in a variety of roles to empower individu-als to reach their full poten-tial. “We make a difference in people’s lives – there is noth-ing better than that. We truly do make a difference,” she says. “I am committed to serv-ing the needs and goals of the individuals we serve as well as those of our Anne Carlsen Center team members.”

The Anne Carlsen Center has seen tremendous growth in its Community Based Services, offering a wide array of per-sonalized supports and pro-grams for individuals across the state with disabilities or developmental delays. Monson says he is confident that Vig-ness “is fully equipped to help continue the growth of these vital services.”

From 1984 – 2012, Vigness was the program director for Hanson/Prairie Community group homes in Thief River Falls, Minn. She was previously

The winners of the award were revealed at EY’s black-tie gala on June 10 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis. They were select-ed by an independent judging panel made up of previous award winners, leading CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business lead-ers.

Gau joined Marco as a sales representative in 1984 and held various management positions before he became president in 2003 and CEO in 2007. In 2004, Marco was a $34 million company with 198 employees and seven locations in Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota.
