• Sound Transit and WSDOT are

adding HOV lanes to mainline

I-90 between Bellevue and Seattle.

• Weekend directional closures of

I-90 Front Street Overpass repair

What happened?

On the morning of March 14,

2015, an over-height dump truck

punched a hole in the I-90

overpass over Front Street in

Issaquah.

Upcoming repair work

The repair project will be

advertised for bidding on

Sept. 15, with construction starting

in Jan. 2016.

Repair work will happen at night.

The right shoulder of eastbound I-

90 on the overpass will remain

closed to traffic until repairs are

complete.

Significant damage

WSDOT bridge engineers

inspected the damage and found

that the hole was in one of the

structure’s girders.

While deemed safe for traffic, the

girder will need to be replaced.

SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program

• Summer 2015:

• June 26-29: Full SR 520 closure for West Approach Bridge North construction and tolling work.

• Several July SR 520 directional closures to relocate tolling gantries.

• August 14-16: Full SR 520 closure for WSDOT bridge maintenance.

• Fall/ Winter 2015:

• Possible full SR 520 and directional closures for work on the West Approach Bridge North.

• To keep traffic moving, SR 520 will never be closed at the same time as I-90.
