Intergenerational News:
Last month, the children participated in Kendal’s annual Fun
Fitness Week. Everyone had a great time and there are
pictures of KELC’s participation up on the boards right
around the corner of the Giraffes’ door. Take some time to
check them out and see your child’s picture.
July is a busy month for everyone, so hold on and enjoy the ride! This month we have Kinder-Camp, trips to the
library, Bay Village Nature Center, and much more! We are also updating our CACFP family forms this month.
If you have not updated yours, please take the time to do so when you pick up your child.
Do you know anyone who needs after-school care? We are now offering an after-school program for children
Kindergarten to 5th
grade here at Kendal! Please help us spread the word as space is limited to 10 children. This
program will follow the Oberlin Schools calendar and only K-1st grade are able to stay on non-school days this
year.
We still have preschool positions in the fall as well. Please help us to spread the word!
I hope you have a great month. As always, please feel free to see myself or your child’s teacher if you have any
questions at any time. ☺
Have a great summer! ~ Jeni Hoover

From Your Child’s Teacher:
From the Classroom:
On June 12th
we proudly presented our graduating class of 2014. This very special event always comes
with mixed emotions as we are so proud of each of their accomplishments yet we also know it is a time we must
say goodbye. For a short time our class size will be smaller; however, new enrollments are already coming in for
the fall. We have finished our studies on music and will now begin our studies on buildings. We felt that with all
the construction going on around Kendal would be the perfect time for this study, since they could actually see
new buildings being constructed. To kick off the study we took a walking tour of downtown Oberlin to look at all
the different types of building structures. We also pointed out all the different types of building materials. The
month of June also gave us many additional opportunities to be with our Kendal grandfriends as we joined them
in Fun Fitness Week activities and at the Community Picnic. The children have been eagerly awaiting the grand
opening of the Biraffe Hair Salon in dramatic play. It was officially opened for business on June 30th
. Please take
the time to check out a few of the great deals.
Have a great month!
