Allegory is a form of extended metaphor, in which objects, persons, and actions in a narrative, are equated with meanings that lie outside the narrative itself. The underlying meaning has moral, social, religious, or political significance, and characters are often personifications of abstract ideas.

Thus an allegory is a story with two meanings, a literal meaning and a symbolic meaning.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz shows every characteristic of being a

religious allegory. Oz is committed to exposing the real historicity of

Christianity and its persistent negative impact on women.

One of the long established methods of determining the validity of an allegorical interpretation has been, “Does it enable the entire work to be deciphered using one, consistent approach? “Josephus of

OZ” is able to do just that.
