Dear Supporter,
We at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Appeal invite you to join us for this year's Hope Mountain Hike event which will be taking place on Sunday 26th April 2015. The Hope Mountain Hike is one of our most popular events of the year, so we are hoping that you will be able to join us and help raise funds for our Appeal. This year we are working in association with The Walton Centre, so the Hike will be raising funds for both charities, however we do ask that participants acknowledge which charity they would like to raise funds for upon registration. The turnout for last year’s hike was amazing, we hope to do even better this year! If you would like to participate in this year’s hike, please simply complete the registration form/disclaimer and attach your registration fee, then return it to: The Appeals Office Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital FREEPOST RRLL-KSHT-ZLKE Thomas Drive Liverpool L14 3PE Please note: If you require transport from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital to the hike, plus the return journey. Please indicate on the registration form or contact Robyn Sefton on 0151 600 1409 or email [email protected] to book your place on the coach. (£10 fee)
As for the past 9 years, Alan Birchall our voluntary Appeal Chairman, will be hosting this event, opening the doors to his beautiful home so that everyone can relax after the Hike and enjoy the BBQ and entertainment. Truthfully, we could not continue to succeed as the best performing hospital in the country for ‘overall patient care’ if it were not for the kindness and generosity of people such as yourself. Your support will help us to make a real difference for the many people in our region suffering from chronic heart and lung disease. We hope you can support us on the 26th April 2015 and join the Hope Mountain Hike! Kind Regards
The LHCH Appeals Team Please contact 0151 600 1409 for any further information you require, or you can email [email protected]. Alternatively you can visit www.lhch.nhs.uk

The 9th Annual
About Hope Mountain
At its highest point Hope Mountain is a dominating landscape feature standing at 1080 feet with
360o panoramas overlooking the Cheshire Plain, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Shropshire and the
Wirral coast.
The Hike follows gradually undulating paths, roads and tracks through woods, scrub and open
countryside in a generally circular route covering approximately 10 miles.
The furthest point is the Waun y Llyn Country Park which is located on the northern brow of Hope
Mountain. At a height of 932 feet the 67 acre moorland park affords excellent views of the
surrounding countryside where landmarks up to fifty miles away can be identified (weather
permitting)!
The route is generally easy walking, though quite steep (and muddy in places during wet
weather) with several stiles and fences to negotiate. Sturdy, waterproof boots are recommended.
The full route covers approximately 10 miles; however, there will also be an option of completing
half of the walk and returning to Barnstone, the home of Alan Birchall, LHCH Appeal Voluntary
Chairman.
Full details of the route will be provided to participants once registered.
Transport
Free parking is available at Hope Mountain, however, a mini bus or coach will be provided for
those hikers preferring to use this method of transport. There will be a small charge for this
service which must be paid prior to the event. To reserve transport please call 0151 600 1409.
The minibus/coach will leave from the main entrance of Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital at
8:45am and will return to the Hospital at 6:30pm (leaving Hope Mountain at 5:30pm).
