With an anticipated May opening, we are looking to form a team of dedicated individuals who can pool their culinary, baking, coffee, business, marketing, gardening, farming, procurement, and leadership skills. Although experience in the culinary arts, food preparation and service, restaurant management, or artisan baking is suggested, we are open to receiving applications from individuals with a range of backgrounds and a willingness to learn. An interest in worker-owned businesses, local food, sustainability, and community-building is a must.

While we will accept part-time applications, we are first prioritizing full-time positions in the following areas:

Bakery Team Member - Members of our bakery team are responsible for the production of all of our long-fermented sourdough breads as well as our pastries and baked goods. Bakers will hand shape bagels, pretzels and baguettes, laminate croissants and mix and shape a variety of daily breads for retail sale as well as for use in our menu. Experience working with dough in a high-volume capacity preferred. Ability to routinely lift 25-50 pounds is required. Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and possess good communication skills and a positive attitude and work ethic.

Cook & Kitchen Team Members - Art’s menu is built on four pillars - bread, beverage, soup and sandwich. Special event meals and seasonal offerings as well as late night platters will compliment our standard menu. Experience with seasonal and sustainable cooking and an understanding of dietary preferences is desired. Professional cooking or kitchen experience preferred. Interest in working with local farmers and seasonal produce is required. Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and possess good communication skills and a positive attitude and work ethic.

Front Counter - Art’s menu will feature everything from lattes with house made syrups, to local kombucha, beer, wine and cider. Our drink masters will be the face of Art’s Cafe - interacting with customers, describing menu items, pointing customers toward our Green Roof, talking up upcoming Art Center events or art workshops happening in our basement space. Knowledge of craft beers and wines or experience as a barista a plus. Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and possess good communication skills and a positive attitude and work ethic.
