POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Investor & Community Relations is a highly-visible, professional member of the ACED team and represents ACED to a broad and diverse group of constituents and audiences. The Director is primarily responsible for retention, recruitment and development of private sector members. Half of ACED’s budget comes from the support of private sector members. The Director also serves as the agency’s point person for marketing, public relations, and events. Public policy, special projects, staff supervision and support of traditional economic development duties are expected as time and agency workload dictates. POSITION TITLE Director of Investor & Community Relations REPORTING RELATIONSHIP The Director of Investor & Community Relations reports to the President/CEO. EMPLOYMENT STATUS This is a full-time position, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (minimum 40 hours per week), with core working hours between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early morning breakfast and lunch meetings occur frequently each week. Evening and weekend activities are required occasionally. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director has primary responsibility for membership retention, recruitment and development.

Plans and executes an annual membership recruitment/retention program to develop and maintain a diversified investor base. Growth in private sector revenues as a percentage of the budget is expected. Identifies, selects and recruits new private sector membership to ensure the financial resources necessary to implement programs and services at the budget levels approved by the Board of Directors.


Personally meets with all investors a minimum of twice a year to develop and maintain relationships, update investor profiles, tailor investment programs, and services to meet investor needs, develop ACED presentations and any membership engagement campaigns that may be required.

Develops and implements Investor Relations work plan to retain existing private sector investors. Specifically, coordinates a monthly membership contact program.

Ensures Investor recruitment and renewals are achieved at or above the approved budget levels.

Develops and implements communications program to keep investors informed of ACED’s programs, services, events, business relocations, expansions, investor awards and achievements, new investor recruitment, business trends and issues.

Schedules and coordinates new member orientations.

Develops programs to involve investors and members of the business community in the organization, i.e. Investor Forums, Board of Directors meeting, sponsorships, taskforces, committees, Awards Luncheon, receptions, focus groups, surveys, briefings, and other special events as required. Works with investors to obtain facilities and sponsorships to support ACED events.

Coordinates planning, preparation and execution of all member events.

Schedules and facilitates investor briefings.

Provides monthly reports to the Board of Directors on the status of the Investor Relations program.

Secondarily, the Director plans, coordinates and implements the agency’s marketing and public relations programs.

The Director serves as primary staff coordinator and resource to the Investor Relations Taskforce.

The Director supervises ACED’s administrative staff.

Additionally, the Director assists the president with daily operations and management of the organization.

Assists in public policy and outreach efforts, and economic development prospect and lead generation.

Performs other duties as assigned by the President/CEO. PREFERRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree or higher in business, economics, marketing or a related field required (or equivalent experience).

Strong marketing, sales, promotion and closing skills required.

Demonstrated experience in self-supervised sales.

Ability to motivate, initiate and collaborate on outcomes required.

Excellent writing and public speaking skills required.

Prior economic development experience desirable.

Position requires strong people skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with investors, boards, employees, elected officials, public agencies, community organizations, media, special interest organizations, business officials and the public is a must.

Experience delivering presentations to professional organizations.

Required computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web-based programs, and other software necessary by job requirements.

Knowledge of the Adams County/Metro Denver business community preferred.


SALARY RANGE $40,000 to $50,000 base salary plus commissions. Previous directors have earned in excess of $80,000. Base pay is commensurate with the selected candidate’s combination of education, experience, references and a proven track record. General Summary:

Provide supervision and instruction of individuals with developmental disabilities in a

community residential setting. Providing supports including, but not limited to: medication

supervision, assisting with hygiene needs, providing basic first aid, monitoring/ensuring safety,

transportation to medical appointments, work and recreational activities, budgeting assistance,

life skills training, meal preparation, home maintenance, assisting with individual’s behavioral

management needs and crisis intervention. Attend meetings as requested.

Education or Formal Training

• Knowledge of reading, writing and spelling of English generally acquired through a high

school diploma or equivalent.

• Must complete mandatory orientation requirements.

• Maintain and increase knowledge of developmental disabilities.

Experience

• Strong preference for a minimum of one year paid work and/or related volunteer experience

with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Essential Functions

• Reliable, regular attendance and punctuality.

• Attend required meetings.

• Attend, participate and maintain necessary training and certifications.

• Ensure safety/health of residents by following North Metro policies and procedures.

• Follow agency policies regarding abuse and neglect.

• Ability to lift 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques when lifting individuals.

• Push and pull a 175 pound wheelchair.

• Shovel snow on sidewalk and front entrance of residential facility.

• Report potentially harmful situations.

• Administer medications accurately according to state/agency policies.

• Ability to provide basic 1st Aid and CPR when needed.

• Transport individuals to medical appointments and assure that proper documentation is

obtained from medical personnel.

• Prepare meals following established menu.

• Transport individuals to medical appointments and activities in agency vehicles. If an

agency vehicle is not available, use of personal vehicle may be required.


• Maintain consistent and factual documentation of all paperwork in timeframes per NMCS

policies and procedures including, but not limited to incident reports, fire drills, attendance

record, program date, log notes, medication record.

• Work with all team members in a positive, professional manner.

• Basic math skills.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability and willingness to safely lift, pivot, transfer and assist a variety of individuals in a

variety of settings, i.e., wheelchair to toilet, bed to floor, etc. that may be required frequently

and/or occasionally to meet health and safety needs of consumers.

• Ability to speak clearly and distinctly in English and understand verbal communication

requests and discussions with consumers and other staff.

• Ability to utilize approved physical crisis intervention techniques to manage behavioral

episodes of adults.

• Ability to stand, pivot and transfer up to 75 pounds when transferring consumers.

• Ability to bend at the hips and knees in order to transfer consumers.

• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry various objects of 10 – 20 pounds frequently and 30 -40 pounds

occasionally.

• Ability to assist adults in wheelchairs in community.

• Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for periods of time up to one hour throughout and

eight to 10 hour day.

• Ability to reach to shoulder level and above.

• Use computer for periods of time up to one hour throughout an eight to 10 hour day.

• Drive various distances, both in the city and the mountain in all types of weather conditions.

• Able to withstand exposure to various weather elements.
