Stradcom-3rd Quarter Activities• Recruited 1 new radio station in Iringa to broadcast HIV related PSAs and Radio

Magazine programs (Upland Radio-Njombe, Kitulo FM-Makete and Nuru FM-Iringa Municipal and now Country FM) and continuing with Ebony-Iringa Municipal

• Alcohol and HIV PSAs in full force—alcohol and prevention/treatment issues being addressed on the radio magazine programs throughout the country (including the 5 stations in Iringa)

• Fataki evaluation data collected in Mufindi for qualitative and Iringa (and nation)-wide for quantitative, preliminary analysis done on nation-wide quantitative data

• Si Mchezo-the May/June issue completed, printed and distributed, content focused on Alcohol and HIV issues with the issue and all editorial material coming from Iringa

Stradcom-4th Quarter Activities• Alcohol and HIV PSAs in full force—alcohol and

prevention/treatment issues being addressed on the radio magazine programs

• Fataki evaluation--qualitative (data collected in Mufindi) and Iringa-specific quantitative analysis to be completed during 4th Quarter

• Comic book based Community Resource Kit training and roll out in Iringa at the end of August 2011 (based on Wahapahapa storylines on Parent/Child Communication and HIV and Alcohol and HIV)

Stradcom Iringa Partnership Highlights• DJs from five radio stations in Iringa were trained on facilitating on air

discussions with listeners about excessive alcohol use and HIV. All 5 stations are contractually obligated to have 15 minutes of discussion about these topics every day M-F. During the training, volunteers from ROADS II Alcoholics Anonymous groups participated and offered to be featured during these discussion times

• RACC/DACCs used Stradcom’s platforms for their HIV/AIDS coordination effort

• OVC and TB content was incorporated into the radio magazine programs

• Jhpiego used Stradcom’s platforms for their MC campaign

• FHI-Tunajali used these platforms for their HBC work

– Initial training with PHCI toward roll-out of LSHC- 1 trained in Baltimore and 7 in TZ

• Community Mobilisation– Designed RDL programme– Designed first 2 Community Resource Kits

• Mass Media– 3 campaigns in design– Dubbed CRB into Swahili

– TOT for LSHC for 10 people from IPHCI– Design roll out plan

• Community Mobilisation– Identify and contract initial NGO partners– Roll out first 2 CRKs– Production of RDL

TCCP Iringa Partnership Highlights

• Peace Corps- placement of PCV in Iringa

• R2P- on the CP research, including potential use of CRB

• ROADS- exploring potential use of CRB
