HISTORY DESIGNED AS PART OF A COMPETITION FORDESIGNED AS PART OF A COMPETITION FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BERLIN MUSEUM WITH A JEWISH MUSEUM DEPARTMENT. THE DESIGN DOCUMENTS THE GERMAN-JEWISH HISTORY AND SUCCESSFULLY INTEGRATES THE PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL MEANING OF THE HOLOCAUST INTO THE CONCIOUSNESSAND MEMORY OF THE CITY OF BERLINAND MEMORY OF THE CITY OF BERLIN

TWO LINES OVERLAP TO FORM THE MUSEUM. THE ZIGZAGGING TORTUROUS LINE FORMS THE MAIN STRUCTURE AND THE STAIGHT BROKEN LINE CONTINUING INDEFINITELY FORM VOIDS THAT SYMBOLISE THE CONTINUOUS SUFFERING FACED BY THE JEWISH PEOPLE
