Doesn’t it seem crazy that here we are, already releasing our new brochure which will take us exploring the world through to 2016.

It was in 2010 that we operated our very first tour. By the time this brochure finishes, we will have been proudly operating these specialised tours for women over 7 years!

This couldn’t be achieved without the amazing staff that I have designing the special itineraries, the wonderful tour managers who accompany the groups and of course our lovely JTW ladies, trusting in us to make their holidays an experience to last a lifetime.

And I have to admit… this is my favourite brochure yet!

I love that the inspiration for the destinations comes from the ladies who have travelled with us in the past; I love that we are venturing into exotic places such as India and Morocco; I love that by keeping our tours small, these tours feature some of the most unique accommodations we have ever used…. and the list goes on.

But what I am most proud of is the standard and inclusions we are offering. I know our tours are more expensive than other brochures or tours you will see advertised. But I can assure you that our product and standard of holiday is more inclusive and worth every dollar. I am confident that when you return home, you will understand the value of JTW. When we plan these itineraries, we put ourselves in your shoes. We sit down and consider what makes a holiday stress free, enjoyable, easy and convenient. We want you to know what is included up front; we don’t want you to have to worry about paying extra for tours while you are travelling; We don’t want you to have to worry about tipping, visas or how to get to the airport. We want you to feel safe and secure travelling with people you don’t know, and we want you to have a WOW experience that is second to none.

And this in a nutshell is the inspiration, direction and the motivation for every JTW holiday.

Here are some great travel tips by our amazing JTW Tour Manager Janet.

// Travel in light comfortable layered clothing with shoes that can be easily taken on and off at security. Laces are not a good option and your feet puff up when travelling by plane. // Buy the BEST walking shoes you can afford. Wear them in before you leave. // Wear a small bag across your body for travel documents and to wear to the plane. It keeps your hands free. // Carry a warm, lightweight wrap that can be used as a blanket to keep you warm on cold planes or rolled as a pillow/support. A soft, fabric (plastic sweats) eyeshade and neck pillow are useful. // Pack lightly. Do not pack anything you are not prepared to carry yourself. You will need to lift your own case on and off conveyers and trolleys and maybe up and down stairs and along streets. You will need to move it through airports. Don’t make travel a struggle. // Pack ‘smart’ and sparingly by utilising clothes that can be ‘dressed’ up or ‘down’. A good idea is to choose a basic colour and mix with a neutral adding colour with scarves or wraps. Layer. Lightweight merino is great as it breathes. Only travel with easy care lightweight fabric. A heavy coat (if you are visiting a cold climate), can be carried into the cabin. Roll, don’t fold when packing clothes.

// Buy the BEST wheeled suitcase you can afford with 4 roller wheels. It should be at the MOST a medium sized case, lightweight and strong. Don’t travel with BIG, tired old cases that can easily be damaged. Big is bad unless you are emigrating... // Pack all 100ml containers in plastic zip bags and pack on the top of your cabin bag for easy access for security. Only carry NECESSARY toiletries on board and distill into small plastic bottles. Pack everything else in your check in. Carry spare zip bags as sometimes these are difficult to find. // Utilise scarves and costume jewellery to dress up simple clothing and leave all your precious items at home in safe keeping. // Learn about the country you are visiting. Jayes have great local guides and you will have a chance to ask them questions. // Be respectful of people’s culture. If something is offered and you don’t like/want it... accept it with grace. // Accept that some things are beyond one’s control. Things like delays, cancellations, long security checks are part of modern travel. I always travel with a ‘ hope for the best and prepare for the worst’ philosophy and there are always ways to pass time..people watching,reading, catnapping, shopping!

// Challenge yourself. Try something new whether it be a new food or way of doing things. ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do’. // The most important thing is not to pack your prejudices and stereotypes with you. Leave them at home and hopefully they will have disappeared on your return. They are too heavy and weigh you down!

TO CONSIDERTHINGSWHEN TRAVELLING IN A GROUP

1. You really are on your own when travelling independently: Travelling independently can be fun, but it is also hard work. You have to sort out your route, select and book your hotels, pick the sights you want to see, find out how to get there and reconfirm everything during your holiday. Not to mention the stress of being on time, language barriers, different tipping customs and border formalities….phew! Our JTW tours take all this pressure off you so all you need to do is enjoy your holiday. It is an easy and stress free way to travel with all the planning done for you and our JTW representative on the ground ready to assist with any questions.

2. Is there any flexibility for me in the itinerary? At any time during the tour, you can simply opt not to participate in activities or even entire days. It is your holiday and you simply need to advise the JTW representative if you do not wish to participate. Of course, any activities which are included but not used are at your loss as no refunds will be given. If there is a must-do activity on your list that is not included within our brochure itinerary make sure you let us know! It may have to be a separate tour and therefore an additional cost, but we will do our best to make sure you achieve all of your must-do experiences while on a JTW tour. Your travel consultant can assist you prior to travel or your JTW representative is on hand during your tour. You never know, there might be another passenger who shares the same interest and will join you!

3. Is the Itinerary likely to be changed? We provide you with the most up to date itinerary prior to departure; however unforeseen matters may require last minute changes. These changes are always made in the best interest of the group. As our itineraries are planned, there is a strict time schedule that must be kept to ensure that all sights are seen but also so you have some free time to relax. If passengers are constantly not on time they may be left behind and have to catch up with the group at their own expense.

4. Touring terminology to look out for: There are common misconceptions about what’s included within tour itineraries. What is listed in our brochure is included, however there are key words that you will need to be aware of.

• Visit – You will enter the site

• Tour – A local guide will show you around the site

• View – You will stop briefly for a photo opportunity

• See – You will drive past the site

5. Is a twin share room a good idea? It can be, however you need to understand the pro’s and con’s. If you opt for a twin room, JTW will match you with another passenger on tour. There is no guarantee that you will become life long best friends with your room companion. They may snore, or you may snore! They may like to watch TV til late, you might be a light sleeper. If you are worried about this we strongly recommend you pay the single supplement. It is important to make this decision prior to departure

as you cannot change from a twin to a single room whilst on tour.

6. Will I be alone during the free time? When there is free time, you will always be invited to join our JTW representative. If you are not interested in participating with the guide, she can give you a number of other options that may interest you.

7. How fit do I need to be? Our itineraries offer a range of transportation; however in many destinations the best way to see places is by walking. It is recommended that you speak to your travel consultant for more information about your specific tour. Generally, you need to be able to participate in city walking tours that are 2-3 hours in duration. You aren’t required to hike, but need to be able to be on your feet for this amount of time. It is important that you are honest with your consultant prior to travel. We can ensure we make adequate arrangements for you prior to departure otherwise you will affect the rest of the groups experience if we don’t know before hand!

Prior to booking, all passengers are required to complete a medical declaration. This declaration is a legal document. If it is not completed honestly, you may find it difficult to keep up with the group and may miss out on activities. No refunds will be given for missed activities nor will any compensation be given for additional expenses to return to the hotel.

THE JTW WAYIS UNIQUE

Our JTW program is quite unique and we would like to take this opportunity to tell you why!

Small Groups All JTW tours cater to a maximum of 16 passengers. This small group gives us access to a range of activities and boutique hotels that we otherwise would be unable to offer. This size creates an intimate atmosphere which allows you to get to know each other throughout your journey and means you have more time to explore the destination. Plus can you imagine a toilet stop for 50 women – it would be half our day gone!

We will pick you up from your home address! We like to make sure you are looked after from the very start of your adventure, which means we will pick you up from your front door (in Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast) and take you back at the end of your JTW tour. This means there is no need for you to worry about getting to Sydney airport or arriving on time. It’s all looked after for you and it’s a great chance to get to know your travelling companions along the freeway!

Meeting your fellow travellers before you go Holidays can be nerve-wracking enough without the extra worry of not knowing anyone. That’s why JTW clients enjoy meeting their travelling companions prior to departure. A pre-tour lunch or dinner is included in your tour price, and is a great opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and your JTW tour escort.

No need to pay a single supplement We will match you in a twin share room if you want to save money and not pay the single supplement. Please read the ‘Is twin share a good idea?’ for further advice on sharing a room.

JTW inclusions: Our tours are designed to be as inclusive as possible. We include at least 2 meals a day, all must see sightseeing, flights, transportation throughout, return transfers from your home address, local guides, accommodation of a high standard, pre-tour meal, visas and tipping. We find that the amount of meals we include sets us apart from our competitors. It’s always daunting trying to find the best place to eat in a foreign city.

Our JTW Hotels: All accommodation used throughout our tours is of a high standard. On most tours a 4 star or above star rating is met, however in some circumstances there just simply isn’t a 4 star option available. In these situations we use the best available option. Our hotels are in great locations, so you can continue to explore during your free time. Some properties are special features on your tour. For example, in India we stay at the luxurious tented camp Chhatra Sagar. With only 11 stunning ‘tents’ this is an exclusive, unique and special experience.

Is my tour guaranteed? This is where you can help us help you. Our tours cannot be guaranteed until minimum numbers are met. We require a minimum of 12 passengers booked and deposited, before we deem a departure

as guaranteed. It is helpful therefore that you help us spread the word of these beautiful tours as much as you can. Tours which do not meet minimum numbers may still go ahead, but on a case by case scenario. Should a tour have to be cancelled you will be advised 45 days prior to departure. If this happens your travel consultant can assist with another holiday suggestion, or a full refund will be given.

Should I book early? Absolutely! It’s devastating when we have to cancel a tour due to lack of numbers. It’s a decision we do not take lightly. In the past we’ve made this decision and in the weeks after have had enough enquiries which would have meant the tour departed! We hate to disappoint and we don’t offer last minute discounts for the final places, so we will take this opportunity to actually beg!

Day One // 12th September 2015 (Meals in Flight, D ) NEWCASTLE – BOSTON

Today you will be transferred from your home address to Sydney airport with your fellow JTW travellers!

Our flight today will take us via the West Coast of the USA, with a short transit before heading to Boston.

Want a city that mixes historic sights’ with contemporary style, where cobblestone streets meet glass-enclosed shopping galleries, where the Freedom Trail’s landmarks stand beside trendy restaurants? Then you will love Boston! Tonight we will enjoy dinner at our hotel

Day Two // 13th September 2015 (B, L, D) BOSTON

Today we will experience the very best Boston has to offer! We will start in the historic towns of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, before visiting Harvard Square. Then, tour Boston to see sights including Beacon Hill, the West End and

the Seaport District. Some free time at Faneuil Hall Marketplace (also known as Quincy Market) will give you time for lunch (at your own expense) and some shopping.

Afterward we will discover the historic and contemporary milestones of Boston’s inner and outer harbours during a fun, informative, fully narrated 90-minute cruise. From the hero tales of the Revolutionary War to the local legends of the sea, you’ll be entertained and enthralled. See how the harbour was transformed to one of the cleanest harbours in the country. Other highlights you’ll see include the nation’s oldest continuously manned lighthouse, the Harbor Islands National Park Area, Boston’s working port and examples of extravagant waterfront living. We will finish our day with a drink at the ‘Cheers Bar’ before having dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Three // 14th September 2015 (B, L) BOSTON

This morning is at your leisure in Boston. Perhaps talk a walk in one of the

gorgeous parks, enjoy some shopping or simply relax. Early afternoon we will enjoy traditional High Tea in The French Room of the Taj Boston. An elegant chandeliered and mirrored setting with opulently draped windows overlooking fashionable Newbury Street, is a Boston tradition. A harpist plays and a sense of gracious conviviality prevails, while guests sip their tea amidst original paintings, sculptures, high-backed upholstered chairs and inviting sofas. This serves as a late lunch before you will have an evening at leisure.

Day Four // 15th September 2015 (B, L, D) BOSTON – NEW YORK

Today we will depart Boston and travel to New York. En route we will stop for lunch and a short tour of Cape Cod. It’s historic, maritime character and ample beaches make it a scenic and popular destination. We will continue through to the Big Apple, where we will spend the next 6 nights! On arrival we will take a walk through Times Square before dinner in a local restaurant.

The United States is vast and diverse – in geography, climate, cultures and travel experiences. Our tour focuses on the East and the South – travelling through the big cities of New York (where we spend 6 nights!), Boston, Washington, Nashville and New Orleans. But what makes this tour unique is the smaller places we visit; spending time in Louisiana with its Antebellum mansions; and spending a night in the historic Lancaster, home of the Amish. Perhaps you are an Elvis fan? Country or Jazz? Or if the music doesn’t appeal to you, the cuisine definitely will! There is nothing quite like a New York steak grilled hot over charcoal, or the spicy Creole and Cajun flavours in New Orleans.

Day Five // 16th September 2015 NEW YORK (B, D)

This morning we will explore some of the cities’ most iconic monuments. First we are off to the Empire State Building; which at 103 storey’s high was the tallest in the world when built in 1931. The Empire State Building is more than just a view, it’s an immersive experience inside a world famous landmark. In addition to our Observation Decks, your visit includes the newly restored lobby with its stunning art deco ceiling murals, the historical Dare To Dream Exhibit, the new Sustainability Exhibit, and an interactive audio device.

We will then walk a few blocks to Madison Square Gardens’, home to the New York Rangers and the Knicks. Here we will have a behind the scenes tour and explore the exclusive VIP areas of the arena.

Our last stop is Times Square in the daylight! Here we will experience ‘The Broadway Tour’ which zeroes in on Times Square’s rich theatre heritage. The Tour is a multimedia experience: live guides who are aspiring New York actors and directors, escort you through the theatre district as you listen with your personal headset to Broadway show tunes and exclusive interviews with Broadway greats like Hal Prince, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Stephen Schwartz, and more.

This afternoon is at your leisure before we re-group for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Six // 17th September 2015 (B, L) NEW YORK

This morning we will explore the Upper End of Manhattan. We will travel down famous 5th Avenue, stopping for a visit at the Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic St Patricks Cathedral.

We will continue through to the Rockefeller Centre, home of the ‘Top of the Rock’ Observation Deck and NBC Studios. Although it seems strange to visit a second observation deck in New York, it is the Top of the Rock that gives you the iconic New York Skyline view including the Empire State Building and also looks back over Central Park. It is New York’s top attraction and you don’t want to miss out on this one! Since 1933, the NBC Studio Tour has offered this historic experience that takes you through the halls and into the studios of NBC’s New York operations! On the NBC Studio Tour journey through 30 Rockefeller Plaza, you will visit the NBC Sharp Globe Theatre, Broadcast Operations, the Make-up Room, and even produce your very own news and weather program in the High Definition Mini-Control Studio!

Following our exciting morning we will enjoy a leisurely lunch at the iconic Loeb Boathouse in the centre of Central Park. After a delicious lunch we will explore the park on horse drawn carriages! Your coachmen will also be your guide as you ride through Central Park.

See many famous historical landmarks including the Conservatory Water, the Wollman Rink, the Imagine Mosaic, the Conservatory Garden, the Central Park Reservoir, the Bow Bridge, the Central Park Carousel, Belvedere Castle and the Central Park Zoo. Your guide will also point out places in the park made famous by Hollywood films.

This evening is at your leisure.

Day Seven // 18th September 2015 (B, D) NEW YORK

Today you will have a New York City Museum Pass to use at your leisure. With this you can enjoy NYC’s best museums and even skip the line! At your leisure, explore the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art. This is a leisure day, so you can do all or nothing at all.

This evening we will re-group for dinner in the Theatre District before seeing a Broadway Show!

Day Eight // 19th September 2015 (B, L, D) NEW YORK

Today we will explore lower Manhattan! We will start with a walking tour of the 9/11 site. Our tour takes you around Ground Zero to explore both the past and future of the World Trade Center. Visit the Ground Zero site and Financial district including the New York Stock Exchange, Wall Street and the Federal Reserve Bank.

BEACON HILL, BOSTON

LOWER MANHATTAN


This morning offers an unforgettable experience as you hear stories of the heroes of 9/11 and how New York City rose from the ashes of tragedy to flourish once more.

Then it is off to lunch at the iconic Katz deli! Remember that scene in When Harry Met Sally where Meg Ryan was, uh, faking it? Yeah, that was at Katz’s and here we can try their famous Pastrami sandwiches or maybe a Bagel with lox and cream cheese. After lunch we will board a harbour cruise! This is the most convenient way of seeing the statue plus the beauty of the city’s skyline and waterways.

After such a memorable day, we have one more surprise for you. We are taking to the skies in a 20minute helicopter tour over the city. You will come face-to-face with the Statue of Liberty as you fly above the Hudson River, admire the iconic Empire State Building, the silver Art Deco brilliance of the Chrysler Building, and the sprawling green expanse of Central Park.

A must for any visitor to New York City! Dinner this evening will be in a local restaurant.

Day Nine // 20th September 2015 (B, L) NEW YORK

This morning we will venture over the Brooklyn Bridge to the second largest of New York’s outer boroughs. The historic brownstone homes of Brooklyn Heights, the landscaped Prospect Park and the views back to New York give Brooklyn a vibrant culture and identity.

Coming back across the bridge we will enter Little Italy. This is THE place to be on a weekend. The restaurants spill out onto the streets, with market stalls and live music entertaining the masses. Here we will enjoy an authentic Italian lunch before free time to explore the area. This evening is at your leisure.

Day Ten // 21st September 2015 (B, D) NEW YORK – LANCASTER

This morning we will leave New York and travel to Philadelphia for lunch and a short city tour. Famous as the birthplace of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Philadelphia offers much more than cobblestone streets and historical landmarks. Cultural, culinary, artistic and ethnic treasures abound in this city.

After our tour we will continue through to Lancaster, home of the Amish. This evening we will have dinner in a local restaurant.

Day Eleven // 22nd September 2015 (B, D) LANCASTER – WASHINGTON DC

This morning our Amish county tour will take us off the beaten path, past working farms and along country roads where buggies roll along and farmers work their fields. Our driver will narrate as you gaze out the windows, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at Amish life – history, customs, beliefs and traditions. Time permitting we will stop at either an Amish home, quilt shop or bakery. Afterwards we will continue through to our Washington hotel. This evening dinner is included at a local restaurant.

Day Twelve // 23rd September 2015 (B, L, D) WASHINGTON DC

Today we will soak up the best of Washington DC on a full day sightseeing tour. Step off your coach to visit top DC attractions including the US Capitol, White House Visitor Centre, and the World War II Memorial. We will drive by other major landmarks including the Washington Monument, Tidal Basin, National Gallery of Art and US Navy Memorial. After lunch at a local restaurant we will visit Arlington Cemetery. It is one of the country’s oldest national cemeteries where its’ rolling hills mark the final resting place for more than 14,000 veterans, including those that fought in the Civil War. This is also where the Kennedy’s (John F, Robert and Edward) are all laid to rest. This evening dinner is included at a local restaurant.

Day Thirteen // 24th September 2015 (B, D) WASHINGTON DC

Today we will visit the Smithsonian Museum, which is made up of 19 world-class museums and a zoo! As the museum is so large, we will have an included transfer from our hotel, entry and then the rest of the day is at your leisure to explore. This way you can stay as long or as little as you like, and return to the hotel at your leisure.

This evening we will have dinner included before taking a guided evening tour of Washington DC’s monuments and memorials. Majestic by day, these monuments are spectacular when floodlit at night! See the Lincoln Memorial and more, while discovering why Washington DC is considered one of the world’s most beautiful cities at night.

Day Fourteen // 25th September 2015 (B, D) WASHINGTON DC – NASHVILLE

This morning we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Nashville. After checking in at our hotel we will have time to relax before dinner in a local restaurant. No trip to Nashville is complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry, a famous venue home to the longest-running live radio show in America. Tonight we will enjoy an entertaining show and see where some of the world’s most renowned country music stars launched their careers. You’re sure to have a great time at this classic Nashville musical extravaganza.

Day Fifteen // 26th September 2015 (B, L, D) NASHVILLE

After breakfast we will have a tour of Historic Downtown, Fort Nashborough, the State Capitol, The Parthenon, Vanderbilt University and Music Row. We have an included visit into the Ryman Auditorium , the Mother Church of Country Music and long time home of the Grand Ole Opry. After lunch at a local restaurant we will continue to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This 37 million dollar facility is a beautiful tribute to Country Music and the artists who have made it great. Tonight board one of the country’s largest paddle-wheel boats for a spectacular lunch or dinner cruise down Nashville’s Cumberland River. Relax and admire views from the decks, indulge in a Southern meal and enjoy live entertainment including talented musical performers, dancers and comedy.

Day Sixteen // 27th September 2015 (B, D) NASHVILLE – MEMPHIS

Today we will travel to Memphis and on arrival, we will take an unforgettable journey through the most famous rock ‘n’ roll residence in the world: Graceland. Memphis was the rock-and-roll legend’s home for more than 20 years and at Graceland you can explore the personal side of Elvis Presley. Learn how his revolutionary style and unique sound changed the face of popular music and culture forever. Tonight we will dine at a local restaurant and enjoy the Southern, Memphis-style BBQ!


CAPITAL BUILDING, WASHINGTON DC


Day Seventeen // 28th September 2015 (B, L, D) MEMPHIS

This morning we will explore Memphis, starting by cruising down Beale Street and Cotton Row, before travelling along the Mississippi River and through Victorian Village to see homes built in the 1800s. We will see statues of Elvis Presley and BB King, before passing the National Civil Rights Museum, located in the Lorraine Hotel, where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. Stop at Schwab, a 120-year-old general store, and pass St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Sun Studio, and the Pyramid Arena, an astounding 20,142-seat arena resembling an Egyptian pyramid.

We will continue to the Peabody Hotel, famous for the ‘Peabody Ducks’ that live on the hotel’s rooftop and make their way to the lobby in a daily ‘March of Ducks’ celebration. Dinner tonight will be in a local restaurant.

Day Eighteen // 30th September 2015 (B, L, D) MEMPHIS – NATCHEZ

After breakfast we will travel from Memphis to Natchez. Natchez is the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River and has more Antebellum houses than anywhere else in the USA. It is rich in history and a charming town of the South. On arrival in Natchez we will dine at the iconic Carriage House Restaurant, which is nationally famous for its fine Southern Cuisine.

After, we will continue on a tour of the town and visit two of the grand Antebellum mansions. This evening we will be staying in a historic inn, adding to the charm of this wonderful overnight stay in the heart of the South.

Day Nineteen // 1st October 2015 (B, D) NATCHEZ – NEW ORLEANS

Today we will travel to New Orleans, stopping en route near Baton Rouge to experience the Everglades!

An airboat tour through Louisiana’s famous swamps is the perfect way to experience the untamed side of New Orleans. Aboard a small airboat, explore marshes and travel deep into secluded bayous as you cruise up to 45 mph! Enjoy the lush scenery, watch for wildlife, and hear entertaining stories and facts from your knowledgeable guide on your 2-hour airboat ride. You may even get a chance to hold a baby alligator! We will then continue through to New Orleans for our 3 night stay in the ‘birthplace of jazz’. This evening we will dine in the historic French Quarter.

Day Twenty // 2nd October 2015 (B, L) NEW ORLEANS

This morning we will start our discovery of New Orleans on a walking tour, with a local expert. They will unravel the mysteries of one of America’s oldest and most unique living neighbourhoods! Follow in the footsteps of historic figures as you stroll along the Mighty Mississippi, through the French Market and Jackson Square, and down the banquettes (sidewalks) of quaint streets named for saints and sinners from our European past. See the old Quarter come to life as your guide explains its secrets and helps you understand all it has to offer - architecture, courtyards, gardens, food, music, and art. We will also walk through one of our unusual above ground ‘Cities of the Dead’ cemeteries and marvel

at stories of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John. Enjoy a ride along Lake Pontchartrain’s shore before travelling through mid-city en route to uptown New Orleans.

After lunch in a local restaurant, we will follow the clickety-clack of the St Charles Avenue Streetcars past universities, Audubon Park, stately mansions and the world-famous, exclusive Garden District.

Today the day is yours to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of New Orleans. Perhaps explore the French Market, which is in walking distance from our hotel. With 3 centuries of history and 6 blocks of shopping, there is sure to be something for everyone.

This evening we will regroup for our final dinner in New Orleans.

Today after being collected from your home address, you will be transferred to Sydney with your JTW travelling companions. Our direct flight will take us straight to Delhi where we will start our Indian adventure. Upon arrival in Delhi we will be transferred to our hotel, where we will spend the next three nights. This evening dinner will be included in our hotel restaurant.

Day Two // 17th November 2015 (B, L, D) DELHI

After breakfast, we begin our Delhi sightseeing within the Walled City (Old Delhi). Delhi is one of the oldest surviving cities in the world today. It is in fact an amalgam of eight cities, with each site being built in a different era by a new dynasty/ruler. Today the remains of forts, palaces and buildings are spread across the city, adding to its character. We will see the Red Fort and take a rickshaw

ride through the by-lanes of the old city. The Olive Bar & Kitchen is an ancient Mughal mansion and where we will enjoy lunch today. It is set amidst beautiful trees and is an exotic meeting place for recipes from around the Mediterranean. This afternoon is spent at our leisure. Enhance your Indian experience with the age old tradition of henna or do a spot of shopping at the markets! Tonight we enjoy at the authentic award winning restaurant Bukhara, where you’ll discover the charm of the traditional clay oven and succulent tandoori cooked kebabs, vegetables and breads.

Day Three // 18th November 2015 (B, L, D) DELHI

Today we will discover New Delhi. Some of the highlights will include Qutub Minar, one of the finest structures ever raised in India and Humayan’s Tomb, the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent and the inspiration for several monuments including the Taj Mahal. We will travel to the DLF Emporio Mall where lunch

will be included at the popular SET’Z. The restaurant houses seven distinct interactive kitchens including Northern Indian, Thai, Chinese, Coastal Indian, Arabic, European and Japanese. After lunch, you will have free time to wander the four levels of shopping. Tonight is a special experience where we will immerse ourselves in the mysteries of Indian cooking! We will visit a local home where a culinary expert will give you a hands-on experience in her beautiful home. This is a unique opportunity to learn about local life, Indian lifestyle, the traditions of home life and of course the food.

Day Four // 19th November 2015 (B, L, D) DELHI – AGRA

Today we leave Delhi and journey to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is the finest example of symmetry and balance in architecture and is now on the World Heritage List. On arrival in Agra, we will have lunch at our hotel before enjoying some free time to relax. This evening is a sumptuous dinner at our hotel.

We start our second day in Agra by visiting the Taj Mahal. Built by Shah Jahan as an eternal symbol of his love for his wife, it has immortalised him forever as one of the great architectural patrons of the world. The structure took 20,000 labourers and 22 years to complete. This is a sunrise visit so we will experience the Taj before breakfast. We will return to our hotel for breakfast, before setting out to experience another UNESCO Heritage site, the Agra Fort. This powerful fortress of red sandstone encompasses, within its 2.5-km-long enclosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. This afternoon, after lunch and some free time, we will return to the Taj Mahal. This is a sunset visit and you will be able to witness the beauty of this awe inspiring monument as it changes colour with the setting of the sun. Tonight we learn the intricate and mysterious art of sari draping as we dress in beautiful traditional Indian attire. You are ready for dinner as we head straight to the restaurant in our saris!

Day Six // 21st November 2015 (B, L, D) AGRA – JAIPUR

After breakfast today, we will travel to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. Traffic is difficult to predict in India with today’s journey being possibly 6-8hours. We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before arriving at Jaipur in the early afternoon. As we arrive you will see the terracotta coloured lime plaster coats many of the old part of the city’s walls and buildings, giving Jaipur it’s name – the ‘Pink City’.

Day Seven // 22nd November 2015 (B, L, D) JAIPUR

Today we begin our Jaipur sightseeing at the Amber Fort. Comprising of the Palace of Mirrors, Hall of Public Audience and beautiful gardens, this is one of the most fascinating Indian forts. Our visit is made even more special by riding elephants from the base of the Fort to the top! After our visit we will enjoy lunch at 1135AD, a new concept restaurant that recreates the splendour of Maharaja’s Court. This afternoon you may choose to relax at our resort, or join us on a shopping adventure through Jaipur. The city offer one of the most active jewel markets in the world and is also famous for its textiles and carpets. This evening we will enjoy dinner in a beautiful house owned by an Indian noble family, decorated in Rajasthani style. Our hosts love to share their

local culture and family traditions, while preparing delicious home cooked food.

Day Eight // 23rd November 2015 (B, L, D) JAIPUR

After breakfast, we will set out into the city and past the Hawa Mahal. This five-storey building along the main street of the old city, is in pink splendour with semi octagonal and delicately honeycombed sandstone windows. The popular monument was originally conceived with the aim of enabling the ladies of the royal household to watch the everyday life and royal processions of the city. Later we will visit the City Palace, followed by lunch at the Jal Mahal restaurant. This afternoon we will take a rickshaw ride through the markets and bazaars of Old Jaipur. Here you will feel the pulse of the city as the locals go about their day. This evening we have a special JTW highlight dinner, which is sure to be memorable! We start with a private elephant safari through the semi-arid countryside until we reach Dera Amer, a camp situated at the foothills of the Aravali Range. Here we will enjoy cocktails and dinner surrounded by the wilderness of a forest reserve, away from the big city.

Day Nine // 24th November 2015 (B, L, D) JAIPUR - CHHATRA SAGAR

During the first week of our Indian adventure we have experienced so many historic monuments. We have immersed ourselves in some of India’s most iconic cities. But today, we escape to a hidden treasure to relax and unwind. The next two nights will be spend at Chhatra Sagar. Our magical, luxury ‘tents’ overlook the lake in the heart of Rajasthan. The stunning situation of these hand stitched tents allow you to arise to the sight of sunrise and the sound of birdsong. During our stay we will enjoy all meals, along with sundowners around the campfire of an evening.

Day Ten // 25th November 2015 (B, L, D) CHHATRA SAGAR

Today you can do as little or as much as you like! Chhatra Sagar offers nature walks to watch the birds flock to the water, or you may just wish to enjoy the fresh air. Accompanied by one of the hosts, you can also choose to take a walking tour of the local village and farm. With its fields of wheat, mustard, cotton and chillies, you can meet the villagers and visit their local temples.

After breakfast we bid farewell to our wonderful hosts and travel to Jodphur. Nicknamed “the blue city” as many of the buildings are painted in hues of blue, this medieval city is a teeming maze of narrow streets and bazaars. Tonight we will have dinner at the Hanwat Mahal. History and royalty is what you would expect of a place named after the last Maharaja of Jodpur and it does not disappoint when it comes to either. Along with panoramic and illuminated views of the Umaid Bhawan Palace and the city, we will experience fine dining with an array of cuisines and impeccable service.

Day Twelve // 27th November 2015 (B, L, D) JODPHUR

Todays’ sightseeing tour of Jodphur will begin with a visit to the 5km long Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive and formidable structures in Rajasthan. After visiting Jaswant Thada, a cluster of white marble royal cenotaphs built in 1899 AD, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Late in the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit the Bishnoi Village Community. The villagers are staunch worshippers of nature in all its forms, especially the sanctity of plant and animal life. We will have an opportunity to gain an insight into their daily lives, see how they work, spin, make potteries and carpets. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at the stylish and chic Latitude restaurant, where splashes of colour, trendy furnishings and artistic food presentations set the tone.

Day Thirteen // 28th November 2015 (B, L) JODPHUR – UDAIPUR

After breakfast we will begin our journey to Udaipur. Along the way we will stop at the Ranakpur Temples and the lovely valley of the Aravali. Under the Banyan tree at Mount Batten Lodge lunch will be served before we arrive in the early afternoon to Udaipur. This evening will be free to spend at our leisure.

Day Fourteen // 29th November 2015 (B, L, D) UDAIPUR

The most romantic city of Rajasthan, Udaipur’s beauty lies in its rolling hills, serene lakes and palatial splendour. This morning we will visit the City Palace, which bears similarities to Windsor Castle in England. On the Sunset Terrace at Fateh Prakesh Palace we will enjoy a relaxing lunch. Overlooking Lake Pichola

and surrounded by the Aravalli mountains, the backdrop of this palace with its distinctive domes and turrets, has made it not only the most popular lunch venue, but the most sought after regal dining experience. Later we will watch the sunset as we take a boat ride on Lake Pichola before returning to our hotel for dinner.

Day Fifteen // 30th November 2015 (B, L, D) UDAIPUR – VARANASI

After an early breakfast we will travel to the airport for our flight to Varanasi, via Delhi. Varanasi is in many senses, the quintessential India and one of the most sacred cities in the world today. Lunch will be included at our Varanasi hotel before we set off into this magical city. We will visit the Mother India temple and take a rickshaw ride through the crowded streets; before a boat ride on the Ganges River allows us to witness the Aarti Ceremony. Amidst the jingling of bells, floating of diyas (traditional lamps) and chanting of mantras, this Hindu ritual/prayer at sunset will be an unforgettable experience. We will return to the hotel for dinner.

Day Sixteen // 1st December 2015 (B, L, D) VARANASI

Today we return to the Ganges for an early morning boat ride at dawn. At this time of the day the Ghats (steps leading to the river) are abuzz with activity! The devotees perform their ablutions in the river or offer prayers to the rising sun.

After our cruise, we’ll walk through the narrow lanes of the city visiting various temples before we return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast we will visit Sarnath, one of the four important Buddhist pilgrimage centres in India and where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, expounding the principles of Buddhism. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, before returning for time to relax at our hotel before dinner.

Day Seventeen // 2nd December 2015 (B, D) VARANASI - DELHI

A late start today and a morning of leisure before we are transferred to the airport for our flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, we will check into our hotel where we will spend our final night in India.

Day Eighteen // 3rd December 2015 (B, L, D) DELHI – SYDNEY

Today we must sadly say goodbye to this wonderful country as we depart Delhi on our journey home to Australia. Our overnight flight will take us direct to Sydney.

Today you will be transferred from your home address to Sydney airport for the flight to Santiago in Chile. Tonight you’ll have an opportunity to get to know your JTW companions at a welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring delicious modern Chilean cuisine!

Day Two // 23rd January 2016 (B, L) SANTIAGO

After breakfast we will take a tour of charismatic Santiago, visiting both the old and new areas of the city. Highlights include the Plaza de Armas, the city’s central square and home to the beautiful Cathedral and Post Office; the Cerro Santa Lucia, the hill on which Santiago was founded in 1541; and the modern commercial areas of Barrio Alto. From the city we will drive towards the Maipo Canyon and the Santa Rita Vineyard, a popular resort at the foothills of the Andes.

Just 40km south of Santiago this area offers beautiful views of the winding Maipo river and is renowned as one of the finest viticultural areas in the world. Our lunch will be at the impressive estate of Santa Rita, an old family mansion which is surrounded by nearly 100 acres of a beautiful park and ornamental gardens. We return to Santiago for an evening at leisure.

Day Three // 24th January 2016 (B, L, D) SANTIAGO – TIERRA PATAGONIA

Today after breakfast we will take a flight to Punta Arenas. On arrival we will drive to our exclusive retreat, travelling through the vast Patagonian landscape. Inside the Torres del Paine National Park, our accommodation for the next three nights, the Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa sits in one of the most commanding settings anywhere on the planet.

The Hotel lies a little over 400 metres from Lago Sarmiento, the biggest lake inside the

national park. This is where your exploration of Patagonia begins, surrounded by interesting geological formations, abundant native flora and fauna and with the Paine Massif ever present. Our three night stay here will be truly magical. All meals are included at the hotel.

Day Four // 25th January 2016 (B, L, D) TIERRA PATAGONIA

During our stay at the Tierra Patagonia there will be a number of full and half day excursions offered. Catering for all fitness levels and abilities, these activities will allow you to enjoy the incredible Patagonian scenery and wildlife of Torres del Paine National Park and Lake Sarmiento.

There are walks, hikes, climbs, horse-rides, and tours by van or vehicle. As the lodge offers intimate excursions with a maximum of 8 people per guide, we will need to split into smaller groups.

Today you will have a full second day to enjoy the Hotel’s excursions. But for those who want to skip the daily excursions you can look for inner peace at the hotel, spend time in the Uma Spa with both outdoor and indoor swimming pools, the library or choose tranquillity by stretching out on an outdoor bed, curling up with a book on the living room sofa, or closing your eyes in the privacy of your own room or terrace. Your stay can be as active or as peaceful as you decide.

Day Six // 27th January 2016 (B, D) TIERRA PATAGONIA – EL CALAFATE

After breakfast we will bid farewell to Tierra Patagonia and travel to El Calafate. Named for the berry that, once eaten, guarantees your return to Patagonia, El Calafate is our base for another irresistible attraction: Glaciar Perito Moreno, 80km away in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the views of Argentino Lake or explore this quaint Alpine town. Dinner will be included this evening at a local restaurant.

Day 7 // 28th January 2016 (B, D) EL CALAFATE - PERITO MORENO TOUR

This morning we venture into Los Glaciers National Park to see the world famous Perito Moreno Glacier. The glacier is more than two miles wide, 20 stories high and is one of very few in the world which continues to advance. On route

to the glacier we stop at the pier for a short boat trip to the south wall of the glacier. From the water level we will get an amazing feel for the sheer size of this remarkable glacier - a true highlight of Patagonia. Once we reach the glacier, we will discover the area on foot – allowing us to see both faces and the surface of the glacier. We will return in the afternoon for dinner at our hotel in El Calafate

Day Eight // 29th Jan 2016 (B, D) EL CALAFATE – USHUAIA

Today we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Ushuaia. Commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world, this is the gateway for cruising to Antarctica!

Before dinner you will have time to explore this unique town. This is also an excellent time to purchase any last minute clothing or equipment from one of the many outdoor equipment stores along the main street.

Day Nine // 30th Jan 2016 (B, L, D) USHUAIA – ANTARCTIC CRUISE

Today we will board the MS Expedition and begin our 10 night Antarctic Cruise. This is the ideal vessel to ply polar waters and to take us to the destinations that have inspired bold explorers for centuries. With a capacity of only 120 guests, the team of lecturers and guides on board will share their knowledge of the regions remarkable history. This evening we will relax on the MS Expedition, watching the sunset over the Beagle Channel. All meals and activities are included onboard.

Day Ten – Eleven // 31st January – 1st February 2016 (B, L, D) CROSSING DRAKE PASSAGE

Our adventure begins with a 400 mile crossing of the passage that bears the name of the 16th century English explorer Sir Francis Drake. The MS Expedition is at home in this part of the Southern Ocean, known for the unimpeded fetch of the winds that encircle the Antarctic. At some point on the second day we cross the Antarctic Convergence, a meeting of cold polar water flowing north and warmer equatorial water moving in the opposite direction. This mixing pushes nutrient rich waters to the surface attracting a variety of seabirds, whales and other species. As we make the passage you have time to become acquainted with the ship and frequent the common areas that include the lounge, dining hall, library and lecture hall where we meet our guides, ship’s crew and expedition staff. We also begin the lecture and information sessions to learn the extraordinary human and natural history of the Antarctic region. Day Twelve – Fifteen // 2nd – 5th February 2016 (B, L, D) ANTARCTIC PENINSULA & SHETLAND ISLANDS

This is what we have all been waiting for - a chance to set foot on the Great White Continent! Over these four days we will navigate southwards making stops in the South Shetland Islands, through the Bransfield Strait and to the Antarctic Peninsula. Our goal is to attempt two excursions per day while we navigate through the area but our itinerary and daily schedule will be based on the local weather and ice conditions that we encounter. Day Sixteen – Seventeen // 6th – 7th February 2016 (B, L, D) RETURN DRAKE PASSAGE CROSSING

Today we leave Antarctica and head north across the Drake Passage. In between bird watching, whale watching and enjoying some final lectures by our expedition staff; this is a chance to relax and review the adventures of the past week before returning to Ushuaia. Day Eighteen // 8th February 2016 (B, D) USHUAIA – BUENOS AIRES

Our Antarctic adventure has to come to a close and today, we say our goodbyes to the crew on the MS Expedition. Our next flight takes us to the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. This afternoon we will explore the popular and vibrant district of Palermo, before stopping at a local restaurant for dinner.

Day Nineteen // 9th February 2016 (B, D) BUENOS AIRES

This morning we will be collected by a local guide and a driver for a tour of Buenos Aires. We will go off the beaten track in this lively and beautiful city. Tonight we will immerse ourselves in a unique interactive Argentine dining experience, blending exquisite food and wine with local culture! Set along banquet tables and led by two charismatic guides, we will learn how to make our own traditional empanadas and enjoy what many claim to be the very best steak in Argentina. Along with sampling the local wines we will make our own alfajores, Argentina’s national sweet!

Day Twenty // 10th February 2016 (B, D) BUENOS AIRES

Today is free to enjoy the sights and sounds of this world famous city. Simply relax, enjoy some of the world class shopping or soak up some of Buenos Aires’ Parisian atmosphere. Tonight we will visit the 1940s style Esquine Carlos Gardel Club and enjoy a 3 course meal and a spectacular Tango Show. Day Twenty One // 11th February 2016 (B, L, Meals in Flight) BUENOS AIRES – SYDNEY

On arrival we will be transferred to our accommodation where we will spend the next three nights. Day Two // 11th April 2016 (B, L, D) BEIJING This morning we will visit Beijing’s heart, Tiananmen Square. Built on Mao Zedong’s orders it is said to be the world’s largest public square, holding over 1 million people during military parades and again in 1976 following Mao’s death. From here we pass through the impressive Gate of Heavenly Peace under the famous portrait of Mao to visit the Forbidden City. Day Three // 12th April 2016 (B,L) BEIJING Today we head out for a full day tour of China’s most famous attraction - The Great Wall. Built over 2000 years ago, it stretches 5000 km from the Shanhaiguan Pass on the east coast to the Gobi Desert in the west. We travel 90km northeast of Beijing to Mutianyu, a less crowded section of the Wall that is considered one of the most spectacular

sections, with numerous guard towers and stirring views. Take the cable car up to the Wall and then take some time to explore this site at your own pace. Admire the panoramic views and reflect on the enormity of the material and labour required for its construction. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel in the late afternoon. Day Four // 13th April 2016 (B, L, D) BEIJING – XIAN This morning we explore the unique Temple of Heaven, China’s finest example of Ming architecture and a building that has come to symbolise Beijing. Set amongst 267 acres of Tiantan Park, this is sacred ground where the emperors performed major ceremonial rites. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant before we continue on to the beautiful Summer Palace, the world’s largest imperial garden.

Here we can relax on a cruise on Kunming Lake before transferring to the airport for our flight to Xian. Upon arrival into Xian we will be transferred to our accommodation for check in where we will spend the next two nights. Dinner will be included in Xian.

Day Five // 14th April 2016 (B, D) XIAN Today we will enjoy a full day’s exploration of this remarkable city, one of China’s ancient capitals still rich in royal and religious historic sites. We begin with a visit to Shaanxi Provincial Museum where we can wander through the superb collection of ancient bronzes, ceramics and other priceless art works from dynasties of the past centuries. Next, we explore the grounds of the Big Goose Pagoda, originally dating back to the 7th Century and built to house the first Buddhist scriptures brought to China from far off India. After this, we will head to the ancient City Walls, which to this day stretch 14 kilometres around the site of old Xian. Finally we continue on to the fascinating Muslim Quarter, one of the liveliest old quarters of any Chinese city, with its vibrant street markets and narrow cobbled lanes. You will end your walk at the Great Mosque, with its fascinating fusion of Chinese and Islamic architectural elements. We return to our hotel in the afternoon, in time to freshen up before dinner. This evening, we will sample some of Xian’s traditional cuisine at a local restaurant. Several different types

of dumplings will be served banquet style allowing you to experience the flavours of local cuisine!

Day Six // 15th April 2016 (B, L, D) XIAN – YICHANG This morning we take the short drive east from our hotel to the truly remarkable and world famous Army of Terracotta Warriors, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. These thousands of life-size terracotta warriors and horses were only unearthed from 1974 after being buried for 2000 years. They are believed to have been created to protect the Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Each figure is unique in both facial features and general expressions. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant before continuing on to discover the recently opened Terracotta Warriors Scenic Area. This afternoon we will be transferred to Xian for our flight to Yichang. Upon arrival into Yichang we will be transferred to a local hot pot restaurant for dinner before boarding our boat which will be our accommodation for the next four nights as we cruise the Yangzte River.

Day Seven // 16th April 2016 (B, L D) YANGZTE CRUISE Early this morning we disembark for our first shore excursion to the site of the Three Gorges Dam Project. The scale of this project is enormous and at any given time up to 30,000 labourers were involved in the dam’s construction. We re-join our

cruise and sail through the mighty five-level ship locks, continuing through the first of the three gorges - Xiling Gorge.

Day Eight // 17th April 2016 (B, L D) YANGTZE CRUISE This morning we transfer to smaller boats for a trip up the smaller gorges to Shennong Stream. This area is not accessible by larger vessels, and features superb natural scenery interspersed with local rural scenes. In the afternoon we admire the magnificent river landscapes as our boat passes through the towering cliffs and mountains of the second and third gorges, Qutang and Wu Gorge.

Day Nine // 18th April 2016 (B, L, D) YANGTZE CRUISE Today we stop at the town of Fengdu. Ascend Mount Ming to see the Temple of the Emperor of Hell, with its garish figures. The scale of the Three Gorges Dam is evident here, with old Fengdu town now completely underwater whilst the sparkling new Fengdu is located on the opposite sides of the river. This evening we will enjoy a farewell buffet dinner on board.

Day Ten // 19th April 2016 (B, D) CHONGQING – CHENGDU This morning we will disembark in Chongqing. We are then transferred to the train station to catch the train to Chengdu. This afternoon is yours, free at leisure to walk around this beautiful city. Tonight we will enjoy a fabulous hot pot dinner!

Day Eleven // 20th April 2016 (B, D)CHENGDU – GUILIN After breakfast this morning we will take a trip to the Giant Panda Research & Breeding Base, located 40 minutes’ drive outside of Chengdu. Giant Pandas at the Chengdu Research Base live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild. Afterwards, we will then continue on to the airport for our flight to Guilin. Upon arrival into Guilin we will be transferred to our accommodation where we will spend the next two nights.

Day Twelve // 21st April 2016 (B, L, D) GUILIN A short drive from Guilin, we will take an illuminated tour through the popular Reed Flute Cave to see its many chambers and caverns of extraordinary limestone formations. Afterwards, we will head back towards town for the short climb up Fubo Hill for 360 degree views of Guilin town and the Li River. We will return to the city for lunch at a local restaurant and visit Seven Star Park and Elephant Trunk Hill.

Day Thirteen // 22nd April 2016 (B, D) GUILIN – YANGSHUO This morning we will transfer to the bank of the Li River. We will board a boat for the scenic journey along the Li River, where we will board a boat for a wonderful, scenic journey. Our boat journey will take us past tranquil farming and fishing scenes and picturesque villages. The main attraction, however, is the stunning limestone karsts that tower above the river and create a magical landscape of mountains and water. The unique and natural beauty of this region has inspired Chinese poets and painters for centuries and continues to fascinate visitors from around the world. We will cruise downstream to Yangshuo, a small town set in the lush green rice paddies of Southern China and surrounded by meandering rivers and limestone peaks. Our tour ends on arrival in Yangshuo, after which time you may like to spend your time walking the cobblestone streets, relaxing in a café, and enjoying the colourful atmosphere of this enchanting town. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Fourteen // 23rd April 2016 (B, D) YANGSHUO – SHANGHAI This morning is at your leisure in Yangshuo and this afternoon we are transferred back to Guilin airport for our flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival into Shanghai we will transferred to our accommodation, where we will spend the next three nights. Dinner will be included in a local restaurant in Shanghai.

Day Fifteen // 24th April 2016 (B, L, D) SHANGHAI This morning we will be met at our hotel for a full day tour of some of Shanghai’s highlights. We will take a stroll along the historic Bund riverfront, a stretch of grand colonial buildings that contribute greatly to Shanghai’s reputation as the “Paris of the East”. Walk along the bustling Nanjing Road, also known as Shanghai’s “Golden Mile”, which has once again been restored to reflect Shanghai’s status as a booming and truly international city. Originally founded in 1577 by the Pan family, the Yu Garden in the Old Quarter is our next stop. This is the finest example of Ming garden design in Shanghai. We will take some time to explore the area surrounding the garden which is a bustling bazaar with numerous food stalls, antique and souvenir shops. We will then continue on to the Shanghai Museum, a collection of cultural items including ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy. Tonight we will enjoy a famous Chinese Acrobatic show! The acrobats are world-renowned for their

wonderful skill, agility and jaw-dropping stunts which combine influences from martial arts, dance, and opera. This ‘ERA’ performance at ‘Shanghai Circus World’ is reputedly the best in the country.

Day Sixteen // 25th April 2016 (B, L, D) SHANGHAI This morning is at your leisure. This afternoon we will partake in a traditional Chinese cooking class in a boutique cooking studio. Five-star hotel chef Allan Wang teaches you how to make the best of seasonal ingredients and explores the unlimited possibilities of traditional Chinese cooking, featuring the most well-known cuisines of Cantonese, Sichuan and local Shanghainese. At the end of the session you will be given printed recipes for the dishes featured in your class to take home. This experience also serves as our lunch. Day One // 17th May 2016 (Meals in Flight, D) NEWCASTLE – SINGAPORE Today you will be transferred from your home address to Sydney airport with your JTW travelling companions. Since the flight to Europe is a long one, we will only be travelling to Singapore today. This overnight stay gives us a chance to break the journey and enjoy some time in this wonderful city. On arrival in Singapore we will be transferred to our hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation. Day Two // 18th May 2016 (B, L, D) SINGAPORE – PARIS

Today our sightseeing tour of Singapore will include a ride on the worlds’ largest observation wheel, the Singapore Flyer. Standing at a stunning 165m from the ground, the Flyer offers you breathtaking, panoramic views of Singapore and beyond. We will continue through the city, stopping at the Merlion Statue and the Gardens of the Bay. These ‘domes’ feature flora and fauna from all over the

world, providing a fascinating garden city. Our tour will include lunch in Chinatown before returning to our hotel. This morning we will arrive in Paris and after a transfer to our hotel, early check in has been arranged so that your room is immediately available. We will be spending 3 wonderful nights in Paris, but it all starts with a morning at leisure – just in case you had a restless nights’ sleep during the flight. As we venture into the city at lunchtime, we start with a visit to arguably Frances’ most iconic monument – the Eiffel Tower. On the second level of the Tower we will find Le 58 – where a ‘chic picnic’

menu will be served for lunch. Offering exceptional views, dining in the Eiffel Tower is a fantastic experience. Following lunch we will visit the Trocadero for wonderful views back to the Tower; we will take a photo stop at the Arc de Triomphe and continue down the famous Champs-Elysees back to our hotel. After breakfast we will start our day with a guided visit of the Louvre Museum. This tour will give us an overview of the museum’s most famous works including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. This morning we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Palace of Versailles. As we are guided through the Kings and Queens State Apartment, the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Chapel; you will be able to soak in the Baroque architecture and experience the grandeur of the Palace. This afternoon is at leisure so you can explore the thriving riverbank, colourful markets or perhaps visit another of Paris’s museums. This evening we will regroup for a dinner cruise along the Seine River before witnessing the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret show! For 110 years, the most legendary French cabaret has welcomed millions of spectators who have come to admire the famous French Can Can. Day Six // 22nd May 2016 (B, D) PARIS – AVIGNON

This morning we will be transferred to the train station and travel in 1st class to Avignon on the high speed TGV train. Located in the South of France, Avignon sits on the left bank of the Rhone River. This area is famous for its’ delightful hilltop villages, distinct cuisine and rich history. As we get acquainted with the city on a walking tour, Avignon does not disappoint! We will explore the ancient cobbled streets, pass inviting boutiques, tour the Palais Des Papes and stop for afternoon tea at a cafe in one of the leafy squares. We will be staying in Avignon for 3 nights and this evening, dinner is included at a local restaurant. Day Seven // 23rd May 2016 (B, D) AVIGNON

Today we will discover the Roman and Medieval architectures of this region. Starting with the famous Pont du Gard, the best preserved aqueduct of the Roman period (1st century AD) and continuing to the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence. This village, whose spectacular site is composed of a bare rock spur with vertical ravines on either side and a fortified castle lying in ruins, was once a proud fortress. We will then travel to Arles, where a walking tour will show us the arenas, Antic Theatre and

other main sites painted by Van Gogh during his stay in this delightful town. You will have free time for lunch in a Provençal market before we continue to St Remy. This quaint village symbolises the essence of Provence, with its fountains, alleyways and boulevards shaded by plane trees. You will then travel on to stop at Roussillon, with its amazing cliffs and after a stop in the picturesque village of Gordes, you will visit the Lavender Museum. This morning we will travel along the Cote D’Azur, visiting the towns of Cannes and St Paul de Vence. Our tour starts with a drive along a beautiful coast passing through Marina Baie des Anges, Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and Golfe-Juan to arrive in Cannes. Our tour of Cannes will include the famous Croisette, fringed by fine sandy beaches; and the Palace of Film, where the International Film Festival is held. Then it’s onto the well-known medieval village of St Paul de Vence, where so many painters and actors live. St Paul de Vence has a very typical ‘Provencal’ atmosphere and is one of the best preserved examples of a fortified village in the South of France. After lunch you will have some free time to explore its narrow winding streets, vaulted alleyways and beautiful arcades. This afternoon/evening is at your leisure in Nice. Day Eleven // 27th May 2016 (B, D) NICE

This morning is at your leisure in Nice. After lunch (at your own expense) we will depart for an afternoon/evening in Eze, Monaco and Monte Carlo. We start at the medieval village of Eze, perched high on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea, where you will have the chance to visit a traditional perfume making factory. Afterwards we will wander through the village where every street is full of charm and history, before continuing to Monaco.

This morning we must farewell France and say ‘ciao’ to Italy! We will depart after breakfast and travel through to Como, located in the northern lakes of Italy. En route we will stop for lunch in Milan, followed by a short city tour which features a visit to the Duomo and a chance to see Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece – The Last Supper. Once we arrive at our hotel in Como, dinner will be included at a local restaurant.

Day Thirteen // 29th May 2016 (B, L) COMO

After breakfast we will take a short city tour of Como, before boarding a scenic cruise to explore the stunning lake. All the towns that lie on the banks of Lake Como enjoy breathtaking scenery of the

Alps and aqua-blue waters. However the absolute highlight would be Bellagio, also known as the ‘Pearl of the Lake’. We will stop here for a relaxing lunch on the waterfront, before you will have time to explore the boutiques and cafes. The ferry will take us back across the lake to our base in Como. This evening and dinner is at your leisure. Day Fourteen // 30th May 2016 (B, L, D) COMO

Today we will visit the Borromean Islands - Isola Bella, Isola Pescatori. On Isola Bella we find the renowned Borromean Palace, famous for its baroque art and fine Italian style gardens. Day Fifteen // 31st May 2016 (B, L, D) COMO – VENICE After breakfast we will travel to Venice, via Lake Garda and Verona. Positioned between the Alps and Dolomites, Lake Garda is the largest of the Italian lakes. Its southern shore boats quaint villages and Roman ruins; while the northern end has spectacular craggy peaks. We will

stop for a light lunch before continuing a short way to Verona, one of Italy’s most charming cities. Verona is rich in art and architecture. We will see many of the attractions in Verona, including a visit to Romeo and Juliet’s famous balcony, before travelling through to Venice. With 117 islands, 400 bridges, crumbling villas and grand palaces, Venice is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting cities on Earth. This morning we will sail to Murano, to see how beautiful coloured glass is made, then on to the pretty island of Burano. Burano is famous not only for its lace but also for the fishermen’s houses painted in bright colours. After sailing back to Venice Island we will take a walking tour which includes St Marks Basilica, Piazza San Marco and Rialto Bridge. After breakfast we will have a wonderful, guided tour of Florence. We will drive to Piazzale Michelangelo, to admire the wonderful panoramic view of the city; and visit the Duomo complex: Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Bapistery and the Cathedral. Lunch is included at a local restaurant before we take a short walk through the historic streets to the Uffizi Gallery, for a guided tour. Our tour concludes at the Uffizi so that you can take your time further exploring the galleries and surrounding shops. This morning you can have a relaxing morning without any pre-planned activities, or you may choose to join your JTW Tour Manager to visit the Accademia Gallery. This is where Michelangelo’s unfinished statues “the Slaves” and his magnificent 17 foot marble masterpiece ‘David’ awaits you. Entrance and audio is included, however we will make our way on foot to/from the hotel. After lunch (at your expense) we will depart Florence and venture into the Tuscan Hills. Our first stop, Siena, is where you will enjoy a guided walking tour to discover Piazza del Campo, the main central square where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year, as well as exploring quieter back streets. The journey continues to San Gimignano, famed for its medieval skyscrapers, high walls and narrow streets that typify most peoples image of a Tuscan hill town. San Gimignano is unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which, with its hilltop setting and encircling walls, form an unforgettable skyline. After some free time in San Gimignano, gaze in awe at a marvellous sunset on the Tuscan hills and then enjoy a typical Tuscan dinner in a fascinating location in the Chianti countryside.

Day Twenty // 5th June 2016 (B, L) FLORENCE

Today we immerse ourselves in the Italian cuisine as we learn the secrets of Italian cooking. First we take a short walk in the city centre to visit Florence Farmers’ Market. Here we discover all its beautiful colours and authenticity, getting to know the butchers, bakers and farmers which Florentines buy their ingredients from. You will taste several different products and we will buy some of the fresh ingredients we will need for the cooking class. We will then be transferred to a noble villa in the Chianti countryside for our cooking lesson. The class will end with a delicious lunch that will prove your improved skills in the kitchen, accompanied by tasting of different wines and a final typical Tuscan dessert wine. We will return to Florence and this evening is at your leisure. Day Twenty One // 6th June 2016 (B, L) FLORENCE

After breakfast we will make an early start and travel to the beautiful Cinque Terre region, a rugged portion of coast punctuated by picturesque small fishing villages. We will stop briefly for photos at the leaning tower of Pisa before arriving at the Cinque Terre. The first town we are visiting is the enchanting hamlet Corniglia (only small vehicles can get here), that clings to an impressive hundred meters high cliff. On the way up to Corniglia we will stop at panoramic viewpoints. A walk through this delightful hamlet will be followed by an aperitif, accompanied by bruschettas at a local wine bar. We then continue our day visiting picturesque Vernazza. With its large open harbour, castle and church, it conjures up all the magic of the Cinque Terre. Here you will enjoy free time to walk around before we enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After 2 hours in Vernazza, we’ll take the shared boat ride to reach Riomaggiore. We will talk through the village, with its tower houses built on a cliff, before taking the coastal train to Manarola. After having visited the village of Manarola, we will make our way back to Florence.

Today we will embark on a full day tour of all of Rome’s major monuments Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads, our local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, the Palazzo di Montecitorio, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and much more. Passing alongside Castel Sant’Angelo and Via della Conciliazione, we will arrive at the Basilica of St. Peter. Here you will have the opportunity to admire the Pieta, a masterpiece of Michelangelo. Lunch is included before we proceed to the famous Piazza Del Campidoglio, where you will have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. By coach we will then drive by the Circus Maximus and the Aventino Hill. Stop to admire the beautiful statue of Moses by Michelangelo located in the Church of St.

Peter’s in Chains from where it will take us 5 minutes to reach the symbol of the eternal city: The Colosseum. This evening dinner is included at a local restaurant. Day Twenty Four // 9th June 2016 (B, L) ROME

This morning on the way to the Amalfi coast, stop at some scenic view points before reaching Positano, one of the most famous and charming towns along the coast, with its delightful white and pastel-coloured houses. Along with the beautiful beaches, its ancient fishing port, the splendid majolica dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta and artisan shops you will enjoy a taste of the “Dolce Vita”. After a walking tour and some free time, we’ll transfer you to Amalfi by minibus, a town that enjoyed a prestigious past when it was once a major naval power. The town features typical Mediterranean style architecture with houses piled one on top of the other. Here you can sample the local Limoncello drink in one of the many cafes’ or visit the celebrated “Paradise Cloister” built in Arabian style that dates back to the Thirteenth Century. We leave Amalfi and following the road uphill, we will stop at another scenic view point to enjoy the last magnificent view of this enchanting part of Italy. Last but not least we will visit the ancient ruins of Pompei with a 2hr walking tour conducted by our

local expert guide. With memories that will last a lifetime, we say goodbye to this enchanting part of the world and make our way back to the eternal city. Day Twenty Five // 10th June 2016 (B, D) ROME

Day One // 3rd July 2016 (Meals in Flight, D) NEWCASTLE – DARWIN Today you will be transferred from your home address to Sydney airport for our flight to the Top End of Australia – Darwin! Upon arrival we will be transferred to our accommodation, with the afternoon to relax and explore this cosmopolitan city. This evening we will enjoy a welcome dinner in Darwin at a local restaurant. Day Two // 4th July 2016 (B, L) DARWIN Today we will set out on a tour of Darwin, taking in the many facets of the city’s intriguing history including the war years, the devastation of Cyclone Tracey and the many features, both man-made and natural that make this city what it is today. During our tour we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before enjoying a night at leisure in Darwin.

Day Three // 5th July 2016 (B, L, D) DARWIN – KATHERINE This morning after breakfast, we leave Darwin and journey south to Katherine. Along the way, we will visit the Commonwealth War Cemetery at Adelaide River, then learn a little about the gold mining history of Pine Creek. Lunch will be included before stopping to visit beautiful Edith Falls. This evening we will take a magical sunset dinner cruise along Katherine Gorge. Beauty, mystery and romance fill this spectacular and ancient gorge, formed over 120 million years ago. As we are seated for dinner, watch the reds and oranges of the gorge walls deepen in the dying light. We will dine under thousands of stars, illuminating the scene. Peaceful and incredibly beautiful this will be an evening to remember. After the cruise, we will retire to our accommodation and prepare for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day Four // 6th July 2016 (B, D) KATHERINE – KUNUNURRA Today is a travelling day as we cross the NT/WA border to our destination, Kununurra. We will drive through spectacular ranges and gorge scenery, including through Gregory National Park. This park covers an area of around 13,000 square km in the transition zone between tropical and semi-arid regions of the Northern Territory. On arrival in Kununurra we will enjoy dinner at our hotel. Day Five // Thursday 7th July 2016 (B, L, D) KUNUNURRA

Today we take to the air and experience birds eye views of Lake Kununurra, Lake Argyle and the Carr Boyd & Osmand Ranges. This is all enroute to the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park, home to the Bungle Bungle Range. On landing, we will be transferred into an

Day Six // Friday 8th July 2016 (B, L, D) KUNUNURRA – EL QUESTRO In the local Mirriwoong (Aboriginal) dialect, Kununurra means “meeting of the big waters” and today we will explore one of its most famous attractions, Lake Argyle. Lake Argyle is Australia’s largest lake and is best described as an inland sea. We will have a morning cruise before returning to Kununurra via the Ord River. From the shaded boat spot fresh water crocodiles, flying foxes, see prolific bird life and spectacular Ord River scenery. Following lunch in Kununurra it’s back on the road, stopping at Bastion Hill for awesome views over Cambridge Gulf and the 5 major rivers of the Kimberley Hill. This afternoon we will arrive at our destination in the heart of Western Australia’s untamed Kimberly region – El Questro. At over 1 million acres in size,

El Questro is one of Australia’s last true frontiers. Accommodation for the next 2 nights will be at the nearby Home Valley Station. Home Valley Station is located close to the mighty Pentecost River, at the foot of the majestic Cockburn Range. Experience the exhilaration of barramundi fishing, soak in the unforgettable scenery of the East Kimberley and be inspired by the region’s Indigenous people. Day Seven // Saturday 9th July 2016 (B, L, D) EL QUESTRO Following a sumptuous breakfast, we will embark on our full day experience throughout the Kimberley and El Questro. We will start the day with a guided walk up Emma Gorge where you will be rewarded at the end with a refreshing dip in the plunge pool at the base of Emma Falls. Don’t worry if you aren’t active, you can take the bus the majority of the way before a short walk through dense, tropical vegetation to a series of thermal pools and small waterfalls. Set amongst a back drop of sheer cliffs and Livistonia palms, Zebedee Springs is a magical place to relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy the local ‘Beef or Barra’ lunch at the Steakhouse before we take an afternoon Chamberlain Gorge Cruise. Dinner will be served on our return to Home Valley Station. Day Eight // Sunday 10th July 2016 (B, D) EL QUESTRO – BELL GORGE Today we farewell El Questro and travel along Gibb River Road. Travelling through this landscape is an awe inspiring experience as you pass age

old rock formations, spectacular ranges, magnificent rivers, vast savannahs of bushland, steep cliff faces, and delightful gorges forged over millions of years by the power of nature. For the next two nights we will stay at the unique Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge. Situated in a beautiful setting close to the Gibb River Road and the Imintji Aboriginal community, the lodge takes full advantage of its prime Indigenous-owned site and affords magnificent views of the King Leopold escarpment. The tented cabins feature ensuites and a private deck, putting you in a luxury environment within the wilderness. Day Nine // 11th July 2016 (B, D) BELL GORGE This morning you will have the opportunity to visit Bell Gorge or simply use the day to relax and rejuvenate at the lodge. Day Ten // 12th July 2016 (B, L, D) BELL GORGE – FITZROY CROSSING Today we leave Bell Gorge and travel to Fitzroy Crossing. As we continue through the King Leopold Ranges, we will stop and visit Tunnel Creek. The Tunnel is the oldest cave system in Western Australia and is what remains of an ancient reef system from over 350 million years ago. Part of the same range is the famous Windjana Gorge, which is our next stop for the day. It is one of the Kimberley’s most stunning gorges and the best place to see freshwater crocodiles in the wild. Our day will finish with dinner and accommodation at Fitzroy Crossing.

Day Eleven // 13th July 2016 (B, L, D) FITZROY CROSSING – BROOME We start today with a cruise on the mighty Fitzroy River through stunning Geike Gorge, then follow the Great Northern Highway through to the oldest town in the Kimberley, Derby. We will visit the Prison Boab and Myall Stock Trough, followed by Derby Town and unique circular wharf. This area is home to the highest tidal rise and fall in Australia and the speed of the currents at the wharf will amaze you. From Derby, travel to Australia’s Pearling Capital…Broome. Day Twelve // 14th July 2016 (B, L, D) BROOME Today we will discover many of Broome’s natural, historical and cultural highlights including Cable Beach, Gantheaume Point, the Japanese Cemetery, Matso’s Brewery, Streeter’s Jetty and Pearl Luggers. This evening we join Broome’s

only award winning camel tour operator for an iconic camel experience along the golden sand of Cable Beach. Broome is certainly one of Australia’s ‘special places’ and the stunning contrasts of vivid Pindan Red and clean white sands, offset by the brilliant blue of the Indian Ocean will ensure that Cable Beach is an unforgettable experience. Day Thirteen // 15th July 2016 (B, L) BROOME The dramatic tides of the West Kimberley coast produce some amazing natural features and today we have the opportunity to experience the awesome forces of nature of Horizontal Falls. This full day tour will take us north along the Dampier Peninsula to visit the Beagle Bay Aboriginal community, famous for the pearl shell altar in its church, followed by a visit to Cape Leveque and One Arm Point Aquaculture hatchery. We will then

take a sea plane scenic flight across the Buccaneer Archipelago touching down on the calm waters of Talbot Bay, then hop on board a fast boat for an exhilarating thrill ride through the Horizontal Waterfalls! Our return flight to Broome will provide scenic views of Cable Beach and the township of Broome. What a day to remember and the perfect way to conclude our adventure through the Top End. Day One // 10th September 2016 (Meals in Flight) NEWCASTLE – DUBAI Today you will be transferred from your home address to Sydney airport with your JTW travelling companions.

Our flight will travel overnight to Dubai. Day Two // 11th September 2016 (B, D) DUBAI Although we land early this morning in Dubai, our rooms will be ready straight away to refresh, relax and enjoy breakfast. This morning will be at leisure in case you are exhausted from the overnight flight.

Early afternoon we will embark on a city tour to experience the historical sites and cosmopolitan life of Dubai. We will see the incredible sail-shaped Burj Al-Arab, visit Dubai Museum, cross Dubai creek by ‘abra’ (water taxi) and visit the Spice Souk. The last stop on our city tour will be Dubai Mall, where we will have a relaxing outdoor dinner watching the famous fountain show. This is the worlds’ largest choreographed fountain show, shooting

water jets as high as 500ft! After dinner you may wish to further explore the mall and shop at your leisure, or return with the coach to our hotel. Day Three // 12th September 2016 (B, Meals in Flight, D) DUBAI – BARCELONA This morning we will have a light breakfast before transferring to the airport for our morning flight to Barcelona.

On arrival in Barcelona we will be transferred to our hotel for a 3 night stay. This afternoon is at your leisure.

This evening dinner will be included at a local restaurant. Day Four // 13th September 2016 (B, L) BARCELONA After breakfast we will start our full day sightseeing tour of Barcelona! Barcelona is one of Europe’s most dynamic cities. We will start with a photo stop at the famous Estadio Olympico en route to the stunning Mirador del Alcalde, where you can take a moment to revel in the amazing views of the city.

We will also visit the Park Guell, a unique garden complex adorned by an array of distinctive architecture before stopping for lunch in a local restaurant. Sure to be a highlight, our tour includes a visit to one of the architect Antoni Gaudi’s masterpieces and a wonderful icon of the city – the Sagrada Familia church. Work on this church was already underway in 1882, but Gaudi took over the project in 1883 and transformed it into a structure incorporating his unique architectural style that includes a mix of Gothic and Modern-style forms with soaring and curvilinear columns and arches. Gaudi dedicated most of his life to the project until his death in 1926 and although still unfinished today this extraordinary site has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Before returning to our hotel we will also venture into the narrow medieval streets of the Gothic Quarter, home to the city’s impressive cathedral and the La Boqueria - a colourful public market dating back to 1217.

Day Five // 14th September 2016 (B, D) BARCELONA

This morning we will travel through picturesque little villages, before arriving at Monserrat. Rising majestically to 4,051 feet, Monserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine Monk mountain retreat. Not only is Montserrat Monastery of significant religious importance, but the natural beauty surrounding the monastery is simply breathtaking. Our tour of Monserrat will include a visit to the Royal Basilica, which has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain for hundreds of years. After returning to the city, the afternoon is yours to shop, explore or perhaps embrace the tradition of an afternoon siesta. This evening we will get to experience a Flamenco Show! Our tour includes a stroll around Eixample to sample authentic Catalan tapas such as ‘pa amb tomàquet’, before we arrive in a flamenco bar in the heart of the city. Sip sangria and dine on gourmet tapas as dancers perform their fiery Spanish flamenco moves to traditional Spanish music. Day Six // 15th September 2016 (B, L, D) BARCELONA – VALENCIA

After breakfast we will farewell Barcelona and travel to Valencia. Before arriving in the city, we will visit an amazing nature park called Albufera. Featuring a large lake, we will take a boat ride to the small village of El Palmar, said to be the place

where paella was first originated. After enjoying our traditional paella lunch between the rice fields, we will continue to Valencia. The city of Valencia is charming with a wonderful old town centre that dates back 2000 years and showcases a harmonious mix of Roman, Muslim and Christian influences in its buildings and monuments, magnificent gardens and important historical sites. This afternoon we will visit Valencia’s cathedral, which reputedly houses the Holy Grail before dinner is included at a local restaurant. Day Seven // 16th September 2016 (B, D) VALENCIA – GRANADA

Today we will travel to Granada. Along the way we travel through the distinctive countryside of the region, stopping for a visit to the charming village of Guadix, home to over 2000 cave dwellings called ‘Barrio Santiago’. Typically found through the province of Granada, no town has more of these in abundance than Guadix. The thick walls of the cave homes help to insulate against the extreme heat of summer and the cool winters and temperatures are maintained at around 19 degrees Celsius year-round. In Guadix we visit the town’s imposing cathedral, built over a Moorish mosque in Gothic-Renaissance style. We then make our way to the city of Granada - one of the jewels of Andalucia. Tonight we will have dinner in a local restaurant.

Day Eight // 17th September 2016 (B, L) GRANADA – MADRID

This morning we take a guided tour through the incredible Alhambra Palace, one of the world’s great architectural masterpieces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the 11th century and taking its name from the Arabic for ‘red castle’, the Alhambra Palace represents Muslim art in its final European stages. The dominating red fortress towers, sumptuous palace decor, multitude of architectural styles and magnificent gardens are all set against the brooding backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains. From the soothing pathways, fountains, impeccably-maintained hedges and pools to the centuries old defensive walls, turrets and views overlooking Granada, a visit to the Alhambra Palace is certainly very memorable. We will have lunch in Granada before continuing through to Madrid. Day Nine // 18th September 2016 (B, L, D) MADRID

After breakfast we will embark on a full day of sightseeing in and around Madrid. Our morning will include a visit to the Royal Monastery of El Escorial and the Basilica of the Valley of the Fallen.

Located 9 km away from El Escorial, the Basilica was built between 1940 and 1959 to honour the fallen during the Spanish Civil War. The Basilica is carved into the mountain at 1350 metres of altitude, where an impressive 150 metres high cross places itself over the magnificent nature reserve of Madrid mountain range. We will return for lunch in Madrid before exploring both the historical and contemporary areas of the city. Dinner will be included in a local restaurant. Day Ten // 19th September 2016 (B, L) MADRID – SALAMANCA

Today we will depart Madrid mid-morning and travel to Salamanca. The Old City of Salamanca was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and is also known as the ‘Golden City’. Rich in architectural, religious and gastronomic culture, we will start our visit with lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards we will have the opportunity to visit the La Casa de las Conchas (house of shells) and the 18th century Plaza Mayor. This afternoon you may like to explore the shops in the streets around Plaza Mayor or even venture into the famous Central Market, where you will find all of the best regional produce. Day Eleven // 20th September 2016 (B, D) SALAMANCA – LISBON

Today we cross the border into Portugal! We will be driving through to Lisbon where we will stop for 3 nights. The capital city of Portugal, Lisbon offers a warm Mediterranean climate in spite of its place facing the Atlantic Ocean. Full of bleached white limestone buildings and intimate alleyways, Lisbon’s mix of traditional architecture and contemporary culture makes it the perfect city for experiencing Portugal. Day Twelve // 21st September 2016 (B, L, D) LISBON

Today with our local guide leading the way, we hop on the ‘electrico’ (tram) and tour the city of Lisbon. We visit the Castle of Sao Jorge, which dates back to Moorish times and sits on the highest point of the Old Town. Although much of the original castle has been destroyed throughout history, some sections of walls and 18 towers remain today. We also visit one of the most symbolic buildings in the city, Lisbon Cathedral, along with the 16th century Tower of Belem and the charming districts of Alfama, Bairro Alto and Chiado.

Day Thirteen // 22nd September 2016 (B, D) LISBON

This morning we have no activities planned so that you can have some time at leisure. Explore the waterfront, purchase souvenirs or simply enjoy a relaxing morning. After lunch we will travel to Fatima, one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world. We will visit the site where the Virgin Mary was said to have appeared in 1917 and learn about this incredibly spiritual place. This evening we will experience more of Lisbon’s cultural heritage with an evening that includes a special dinner at a local restaurant with traditional ‘fado’ music. Day Fourteen // 23rd September 2016 (B, L) LISBON – ALGARVE Today we journey south to Spains’ premier holiday destination – the Algarve. The setting is undeniably beautiful - breathtaking cliffs, wide golden sands, natural bays, scalloped beaches and long sandy islands with waves lapping at the shore. We will be spending two night here to give us a relaxing break in our itinerary. Day Fifteen // 24th September 2016 (B, D) ALGARVE This morning we will explore the Algarve coastline on a cruise. During the cruise you will have the opportunity to discover fantastic caves and see stunning rock formations. A glass bottom boat will give you the opportunity to view the sea life, or you may wish to take a quick swim in the ocean. Returning to Albufeira the boat travels away from the coast to search for dolphins! Keep your eyes on the water surface for the playful schools regularly

After breakfast we will travel to Seville. After lunch in a local restaurant we will visit the Seville Cathedral, the largest gothic cathedral in the world. Declare a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, the Seville Cathedral is a true national treasure. Day Seventeen // 26th September 2016 (B, L) SEVILLE

This morning we will learn more about the Spanish cuisine in a cooking class. We start with a visit of the local produce market, where you will see an incredible range of seafood, meats, vegetables and fruit. We will return to a local home to prepare iconic Spanish dishes such as gazpacho and tortilla Espanola. After enjoying the fruits of our labour for lunch, we will continue on a walking tour to reveal more of Seville’s finest sights. With the knowledge of our local leader to guide us, we explore the labyrinthine maze of narrow cobblestoned streets and sun-speckled squares in Barrio Santa Cruz and El Centro. A highlight of the morning is a visit to Seville’s magnificent Alcazar Palace - one of the country’s most impressive and historic monuments, as well as the lovely botanical gardens in Maria Luisa Park and the incomparable Plaza de Espana. This evening is at your leisure – perhaps try the local wines and sherries at a local tapas bar!


Day Eighteen // 27th September 2016 (B, D) SEVILLE – CHEFCHAOUEN

After breakfast we will farewell Spain once more and cross the Strait of Gilbraltar into Morocco. Beautifully sited beneath the raw peaks of the Rif, our first stop in Morocco is one of its’ prettiest towns, Chefchaouen. It is an artsy, blue-washed mountain village that feels like it is in a world of its own. The old medina is a delight of Moroccan and Andalucian influence with red-tiled roofs, bright-blue buildings and narrow lanes converging on busy Plaza Uta el-Hammam and its restored Kasbah. Dinner tonight will be in a local restaurant.

Day Nineteen // 28th September 2016 (B, L, D) CHEFCHAOUEN – FES

This morning we will take a short walking tour to further explore the narrow lanes of Chefchaouen, before travelling to Fes. Being the third largest city in Morocco, Fes can be a bit overwhelming until you adjust to the pace of the city! But once you do, it reveals its’ charms in most unexpected ways. Seemingly blind alleys lead to squares with exquisite fountains, filled with the rhythmic hammer- music of copper beaters. It’s an assault on the senses, a warren of narrow lanes and covered bazaars fit to bursting with aromatic food stands, craft workshops, mosques and an endless parade of people.

Day Twenty // 29th September 2016 (B, L) FES

Today we will spend the entire day in Fes. You will see mosques and medresas (colleges), such as Al Karaouine, the world’s oldest university, exquisitely decorated with carved wood, ornamental plaster and glorious mosaics. Other highlights will include the Andalusia Mosque, the Bab Boujloud gate and Tombs of the Merenid Dynasty. After a delicious Moroccan lunch, a further sensory assault comes at the tanneries, where colourful herbal dyes and smelly organic substances form part of a fascinating leather-preserving process unchanged for centuries. This afternoon we will also visit the district of potters, where the world-famous cobalt blue enamelled pottery is made.

Today we leave Ouarzazte and on our way to Marrakesh, we cross the Atlas Mountains. Through this area we will visit the Kasbahs (fortresses) of Telouet and Ait Benhaddou, the latter an exceptionally well-preserved Kasbah which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987 by UNESCO. Day Twenty Four // 3rd October 2016 (B, L, D) MARRAKESH

After a leisurely breakfast, our tour of Marrakesh will take us to the 12th Century Koutoubia Mosque, the 16th Century Saadian Tombs and the 19th Century Bahia Palace. After lunch we will visit a craft co-operative to learn about Moroccan handicrafts before we transcend through time and take a walk inside the souks. Among the craftsmen and traders, amid its mazes of alleyways filled with beautiful potteries, apothecaries, spices, silver jewellery, blacksmiths, wool dying and carpets,

your senses will come alive. Our last highlight for the day is at the World Heritage Site, Jamaa El Fna Square. Experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of this magical place complete with jugglers, fortune-tellers, snake charmers, dancers and herbalists. Day Twenty Five // 4th October 2016 (B, D) MARRAKESH

As we approach the end of our journey, today is at your leisure. Collect some last minute souvenirs and make sure it all fits into your suitcase before we enjoy a special finale dinner in Marrakesh. Day Twenty Six // 5th October 2016 (B, Meals in Flight) MARRAKESH – SYDNEY

Today we will fly from Morocco, via Spain and Dubai to Sydney. We will lose a day (6th October) here in transit and changes in time zones. Day Twenty Seven // 7th October 2016 (Meals in Flight) SYDNEY – NEWCASTLE

This morning we will arrive in Sydney and you will be transferred to your home address, bidding farewell to your JTW travelling companies you have shared this amazing experience with.

Day Twenty One // 30th September 2016 (B, L, D) FES – TODRA GORGE After breakfast we will leave Fes and travel to Todra Gorge. The gorge is a dramatic 975m high canyon in the mountains, whose massive walls rise steeply, cutting off sunlight from the gravel riverbed far below. Mountain goats and eagles can sometimes be seen on the high cliffs. The Dades and Todra Gorges provide some of the best seasonal bird watching sites in Morocco, with larks, sand grouse, buzzards, falcons, warblers and finches. This is one of the world’s most spectacular canyons and we will spend the night in the area so we have ample time to explore its beauty.

Day Twenty Two // 1st October 2016 (B, L, D) TODRA GORGE – OUARZAZTE After breakfast we will take a walk inside Todra Gorge to meet the locals and see the different Kasbahs located in the heart of this valley. We will then drive towards Ouarzazte, along the Route of 1000 Kasbahs to the Dades Valley. This is a spectacularly beautiful area of contrasting colours and terrains. The lush green willows, roses and alfalfa sway in the gentle breeze at the bottom of the valley using water channelled from the river, while the sides of the gorge are a barren,
