Hello! At Mori no Ike you'll live in the language and cultures
of the Japanese-speaking world for your entire camp stay. From the time your eyes
open in the morning until they close on your pillow that night you'll
build an impressive foundation of Japanese skills and cultural knowledge by participating in small language learning groups, joining in cultural and camp activities, playing games and
sports, dancing, singing, cooking — and most of all having fun.
Konnichiwa!
Why Learn Japanese?Japanese is the official language of Japan, a world
economic power with exports ranging from comic books to automobiles. With over
127 million speakers worldwide it is not only spoken in Japan but also areas of Brazil, Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, and the United States.
Life at Mori no Ike
Life at Mori no Ike is infused with Japanese. At Mori no Ike, we say "konnichiwa!" and smile at each other when we greet someone. Take a journey with Japanese cuisine and activities like taiko, ikebana, martial arts, theater or go.
All activities conducted in Japanese!
Special Programs
