Membership Meeting Held the 1st Wednesday of the Month at 11:00

I was reelected as Membership representative for another year. I want to Thank everyone and I wish everyone a Happy New Year !

I can’t believe another year is over. We look forward to our membership growth this upcoming year

Line Dancing at FSC!

Line Dancing is fun and great exercise for the body and mind! Instructor, Sandy Reynolds, has 9 years experience teaching seniors to line dance. We dance to many different types of music, not just country.

Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. - Ultra Beginner class for those that have little or no dance experience. Be sure to wear shoes that have a back, so they stay on your feet; no flip flops or backless clogs. Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. - High Beginner class for those that have line danced before. Again, same thing with the

shoes. You're invited to join our classes at no charge if you are a member of Frederica Senior Center (not a member? Just check in at the Front Desk). There’s something for everyone! See you Wednesday mornings!

Happy New Year As the new year begins, Our center continues to

grow the expansion project is still moving forward. The town permit

has been obtained, the plans have been drawn, the elevation certificate

is in process, Once the elevation certificate is in hand. I will submit

the plans to the fire marshals office when they are approved, we can

then apply for Kent County permit. It is a process and we are about

half way there. Once the permit is obtained, bidding for the

construction will begin. We need to continue to raise funding for this

Project. Several fundraisers are planned and I am applying for grants.

We just ask for your patience.

All Good things take time.

Renee

PLEASE CHECK IN ON YOUR ELDERLY NEIGHBORS AND FAMILY DUR-

ING THE WINTER MONTHS. REMEMBER A SMILE AND A FRIENDLY

VOICE CAN HAVE A HUGE IMPACT ON SOMEONE’S LIFE

GETTING TO KNOW YOU by Doris Hoover.

Nurture your dreams. Feed your passion. Embrace your vision for the future. The man of the month is Mr. (Jack) Harold Jackson Peterman. Jack is a Representative for Delaware 33 District, an experi-enced leader and charitable contributor, family man, and retired business man. He will again have

his name on the November 2016 ballot for reelection. He is a strong supporter of low taxes. Jack was born July 1942 in Milford, DE to Lucille and George Peterman and the youngest of 14 children. His

mother also was employed at L.D.Calk Co. and his father was employed with the Mason Transporta-tion. He was educated in the Milford Schools, attended college, was a farmer for 30 years in the

poultry business (now retired), and married to Sandy for 46 years, two sons, Barry and Scott Peter-man, both living in Milford. Sandy sadly passed five years ago. Jack favorite time spent away from

the office was on the golf course but due to his recent operations this activity had to be delayed but he says he will be back swinging that club in four months. He also enjoys vacationing in Florida and

the Amish country in Pennsylvania. Blue and green are preferred colors, Christian music, Applebee’s Restaurant are favorites. A delicious chicken dinner is at the top of his list for favorite food. Jack quoted “Little is much when God is in it.” Jack is most proud to work with Dick Ennis at Veterans

Home in Milford. He also discussed his six years’ service with the State Legislation and said “I never voted on anything that benefited me, And that is a good thing.

Happy New Year! Hope the Holidays were good to you all. This year

my New Years resolution is to smile more hopefully keep you smiling

even more. New trips and maybe revisit some of the old. 2016 we will

be doing a covered Bridge tour starting in April, when the weather is

not as cold. Until then we will be doing local trips. Delaware has lots

of History and beautiful cities to visit. January starts local museums.

We will be doing two games nights this month. Come on out and play

pinochle, phase 10, sequence or bring a game with you and try to

teach us some new games. The only charge for game night is to bring a

snack to share with all Until then keep smiling. Cathy

The Frederica Senior Center’s mission is to guide Delaware’s senior into a brighter future. The Center is where seniors and or persons with disabilities join together for services, activities, socialization and nutritious home cooked meals. Programs are designed to enhance our seniors dignity, support their independence and encourage involvement in and with the Center and their local community. This Membership Guidelines Booklet has been developed to enhance the experience of your participation in the Center activities and programs. It is the Center’s priority to provide a safe, pleasant, positive, comfortable, enjoyable environ-ment to our members. The Center recognizes that some behaviors may distract and disrupt for the enjoyment of the Center. That is why the following guidelines have been set up by the Board of Directors and Staff Members in order to address any instances that may occur and disrupt the daily routine and experience at the Center. We all ask that you carefully read this booklet to become familiar with these guidelines in order to know what is ex-pected from each and every member of the Frederica Senior Center. 1. Membership is limited by the resources of the Center to individuals who are self mobile, with or without assistance devices such as wheelchairs or walkers, independent, capable of appropriate decision making, self toileting and have adequate appearance and hygiene to participate in daily activities. If not independent self mobile members may attend with a personal assistant. 2. As a member we ask that you promote goodwill. No member shall mistreat, either verbally or physically, any other member or staff. Mistreatment includes sexual, racial or otherwise harassing comments. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated and shall result in immediate dismissal from the Center, and membership will be revoked immediately. 3. Members are asked to encourage diversity. Isolation of members based on race, religion, color, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, and or physical or mental disability shall not be tolerated. 4. The use of illegal drugs or alcohol is not permitted on or in Center property. 5. The rooms and equipment in the Center are for the use of the entire membership and are never for the exclusive use of any one member. Members are expected to respect and maintain the facility and equipment they use. Members may be liable for purposeful damage or destruction of any Center property. Use of equipment is at the users own risk. 6. Members are not to use any vulgar or profane language at any time. 7. If at any time a member has a problem of some kind, whether it be with another member, staff member, a program or procedure in the Center, that member should report their concern to the Executive Director or Staff Member. No member has the right to approach a guest or group of guests to voice their complaint. Complaining among other mem-bers will not get the situation resolved but will only bring disharmony into the Center. 8. Any criminal act committed by a member will result in immediate dismissal. 9. Inoculations must not be done in public areas, such as dining room, lobby or kitchen. The purpose of these guidelines is to allow everyone to richly enjoy their visit to the Center every time they are here. It is up to each individual member to do their part in order to achieve this goal.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART!
