ISEARCH• The iSearch paper is
different than a traditional research paper.
• The iSearch paper requires the writer to research a topic in which they have a specific interest.
• An iSearch is considered less formal than the traditional research paper because it allows the writer to use I as they write.

ISEARCH• The iSearch paper will
require you to explain prior knowledge but will also require you to engage in comprehensive research with regards to your paper.
• In an effort to help you both organize your paper and to keep your research on topic, you will be required to answer three “burning questions”.
• You will need to show where you retrieved all of your information from and provide citations in MLA format in an effort to avoid plagiarism.

BURNING QUESTIONS Your paper will be
built around three burning questions.
Burning questions are questions that you have regarding your topic.

is crucial to setting the tone of an intelligent paper.
• It is absolutely critical that you grab the readers attention in your opening paragraph.
• Also, the introductory paragraph is a good spot for your thesis statement.

could start with a quote or a statement of fact that may be surprising to readers.

paper should include several things:
1. Answers to your burning questions
2. Smooth transitions between paragraphs
3. Completion of the requirements in the rubric

transition words exist:1. Chronological order –
First, meanwhile, later, afterwards, finally, etc.
2. Objects in relation to one another – next to, in front of, beside, between, behind, etc.

wrapped up in a neat manner.
