Assessments Many Forms. More than 20 years ago, one of the most significant pieces of research around education was released and many remain unaware. Distracted by high-stakes uses of assessment, we are still coming to terms about what formative assessment truly is and how to fully capitalize on its tremendous potential to improve learning. This session takes the research and translates it into easily applicable teaching strategies proven to make a difference in performance.

Four Keys to Intensify Teacher Impact. The impact of a teacher on student achievement is at least four times greater than the impact of variables outside of the classroom. When an exceptional teacher and a willing student work together, achievement follows—often in incredible increments. In this session, we explore what Dr. Bryan has labeled “the achievement variable,” and how even the best teachers can develop greater power to lead their students to success.

Response to Intervention 2.0. As James Ysseldyke (2016)

states, assessments that do not inform instruction just don’t matter. We have moved from assessing for the purposes of predicting success at school to gaining insight from assessment data to make a difference in students’ lives. In this session, we look at four strategies to bolster Response to Intervention and focused on a shift from data-driven to data-fueled.

“The goal of educator effectiveness is to empower students. In reaching that goal, effective educators lead students to deeper understandings of the world around them, helping them develop skills and resources not only to survive, but to thrive.
